  1. I need to figure out what I am doing with them still. Not sure what direction I am going with the build yet... I did just pick up a set of Moabs so a 97+ swap may be in order. If you do get the parts you are taking a bed liner with you!
  2. No kidding? I'm gonna have to check! I have not been to that site in months. EDIT: Wow, you're right. Thanks musta been a temp band. Still don't post there. I personally don't care for all the newb stuff.
  3. I have gotten banned from JU and JF both. Not a big loss with either of them really. I guess the Libby guys get a little upset when to start laughing at their "Mag Light" mods, lol! I had it out with Go Topless on JF. I should have guessed the Goderator was her boyfriend. I still don't care about either one of the boards.
  4. I got a no drill Pendaliner you can have out of Onyx, for free! Come get it.
  5. STOP!!! Do not put 75/90 in your AX-5 it will destroy the syncros! You have to buy some special oil called Syncromesh. It is normally sold at NAPA and is about $10 a quart. If you do use the regular gear oil your trans it will hate you. Happy late B-Day to ya.
  6. Over the last few days I have slowly been ripping into Onyx. I got the complet front end pulled. gutted the doors, minus the lock rods because they are a PIA to remember how they go back in! pulled the back slider, it leaked and the drivers side glass was replaced with plexy glass. I found my source of my wet carpet. No rubber snot and rust blistering on the window frame. Which caused the floors to start to rust. Good thing I caught when I did! I also got 99% of the interior out. THe dash was cracked so it needed to be replaced anyhow. I also got the tailgate. taillights, wiring, and bumper pulled. The aftermath in the spare room! The bad part is most of this stuff will not go back into the truck. I am debating a 97+ clip and a cowl hood. I am also replacing the buckets with a bench when I find one that is. We'll see as the project comes together.
  7. I watched the build of the 5.9 over on NAGCA. It was missing the whole left rear 1/4 panel and he replaced it with junkyard parts.
  8. Minus the cargo light and tape deck on yours, they are twins! Wow, really cool. Time for you to get busy and re-produce some stripes for the lower body and tail gates!
  9. I am in Acworth just across the street from Kennesaw. I can pick your tires up and hold onto them for awhile if you need me too. It is next to impossible to find a station with gas right now and am not fond of paying $5+ dollars a gallon for gas either. If you need me to get them just give me a call. I will PM you my number.
  10. I made the trip today to pick up my MJ. Ladies and gentlmen say hello to "Onyx" I got the truck for $400. She is a 89, 4.0, AW4, 2WD, short box. It runs really good but starts slipping in overdrive after about 10 miles. It also sounds like it has a REALLY bad rod knock but it goes away when you rev it up. I think it may be a bad torque converter or a cracked flex plate. We'll see when I drop the trans. The truck is strait as an arrow and rust free! The only damage so far is the tail gate and the rear bumper. Inside she has the factory buckets with a couple small tears in them. Full gauges Look like 89 period correct floor mats and the stock Jeep radio And in the bed was this piece of history. It is a Headman spit exhaust header for I think a 258. I am not sure but it is cool! Future plans call for a V8 swap, 4WD conversion, 6" lift, 33's, new paint and decals, and more bling than you know what to do with!
  11. Don, Thanks for the info. That is just what I needed. Johnny, It is nice to be back. After I sold Betty I realized I had made a mistake. I know about Spencer's decals. I am the one who gave him the idea for the "Easy to be a truck" decal. Thanks everyone for the help.
  12. Anyone know where I can find info on the stripes for the (89) Eliminator MJ? As in what style stripes and decals were availbe for the Eliminators. I am picking up mine this weekend and need reference material to return "Onyx" to her former glory. Since I can't get Black Betty back I bought me a new truck. It is a 89 2wd (not for long) 4.0, AW4, short box, and black of course.

  14. NO It looks like crap. I hate seeing rigs with bed liner all over the bodies. Just my opinion though.

  16. I am a Shelby Dodge nut at heart. I currently own a 87 Shelby Charger with 22 psi and a little shot (75) of squeeeze for fun. It is a fun can. The car is completely stock visually. All my mods are hiden as well. To look at my car and engine you would swear it was a bone stock 2.2! She runs 11.60 all day long. Which makes me miss the funest rice burner and Clang killer I had. It was a 89 Dodge Caravan with a 2.5 turbo. I did a pile of work to the engine and stuff. It was a fun little ride. The van could turn high 13s in the 1/4 and slap a stock Stang with the quickness! If you want to see something funny, watch a ricers face as you tear him apart in a mini-van! Pure greatness!

  19. http://www.nagca.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22770&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=d44a&start=0 With a few mods it can be built into a monster axle. I am not a big fan of it either. But, this thread gives those looking for a cheap strong axle a lot of options.
  20. Um, you might want to research the D44HD that is in the WJs. Just because it is aluminum does not means it's weak.
  21. Nice Shelby! I am a huge fan of the SC. I own an 87 Garnet and Silver car. Are you sure that car was an 84? The reason I ask because the 84 were only carbed cars. The Turbo I engine was not availble until the 85 model year. Also the 5 lug "pizza" wheels were not produced until 85 as well. You may have got a late production 84 that already had the turbo and 5 lug wheels. But, my best guess would be that the car was an 85. Here is a pic of my 87 SC with 70K miles on it and my old Rampage I sold.
  22. Betty is fo sale! See the for sale section for details.
  23. Pete you are right sir. I have been out of town and the MJ has just been sitting with no flares on it. I will not be able to do anything to it for a few weeks. I will supply a write up as I go just keep and eye on this thread. BO
  24. To answer some questions final tire and rim size will be 32/11.50 on 15x8 Bajas front clip takes about 2 hours, it is a bolt on 2.5 ballsy? You are on your own here. Future engine will be a SBC and that is Chrysler. I am a die hard Mopar man. Got a line on a 97 ZJ with a blown head gasket for $1500.
  25. I just wanted to start a thread to follow the build of my 86. She was given the name Black Betty for 2 reasons #1 It is all black inside and out #2 The damn thing gone wild! (You young bucks can Google search the song Black Betty if this eludes you) Here she sits as I brought her home. Picked her up for a whopping $400. The AX 5 was shot and the seller had no time to mess with it. Too bad for him. This 2.5 is a great running truck. Got a trans for $100 and the truck passed Cali smog on the first shot. I was in shock. A 20 year old 4 popper still ran like a 5 year old import. I managed to find some 15X7 black mod wheels with some nice 31" tires for $100. Well that means you gonna need a BB to fit the 31s Just as I got the tires on I had a fender bender! NOOOOO! I rearended a 97 T-Bird doing 65 MPH. I was being tail gated and missed a shift and went from 5th to 2nd! That locked up the rear tires and bone head thought I brake checked him. He passed me in the turning lane on the left and then I was brake checked in return. As you can see in the pics I hit him as he came out of the turning lane. All the damage to his car was on the right rear corner. My truck was all from the grill left. He lost. I totaled his car. I drove the truck home with this damage. I was then deployed to Iraq as my truck sat in limbo with the insurance company. They were going to total out my truck. I did not even claim it? Had I not taken all the pictures of my truck and the scene I would have gotten screwed by Allstate. They never sent a Adjuster to look at the scene or either vehicle? Wierd huh? It took a total of 9 months for it to finally clear. All in all he was out a vehicle for 9 months and then got $1000 for his car. I smiled when I heard this. I did drop Allstate shortly after because of the way the treated me and handled the accident. I returned home from Iraq and found a 2000 XJ in the yard and stole the front clip for the truck. At the same time I added early Ranger mirrors to the doors. I am in the process now of stock piling all the parts to do a 5.5" lift to her. I have also started to make 2000 rear flares for it. It is hard and this is where it is right now. I have also just iced out my grill yo! The finished product should look like this, all in due time!
