I replaced mine with the polly ones which were real easy. All you had to do was remove the rubber factory from the steel sleeve, clean it out nice and slip the polly one in the factory sleave which was real easy once it was removed from the freezer. I Attempted to replace the factory bushing on one of my old jeeps and will never do that again. I ended up snaping the ear off the housing while beating it with a BFH.

The other Chief (Getting it ready for paint)
1999MJ replied to 1999MJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well it turns out I don't have to sell it. Finally got everythingt buttoned up and got it on the road. So far it's the best handeling lifted Jeep I have ever owned. No vibrations, shakes, death wabble or bump steer. I ended up with about 8 inches of lift up front and 9" in the rear which should drop a bit once I get some weight in there(spare tire and tools). Could stand to be a little lower but it will work for now. I will be going to 37's in the future and some trimming with a HP 44. Next is some paint which I hope to get around to doing in early spring. I'll try to get some flex shots up tomorrow -

what track bar is that and what's with the ground down bare metal spots on it? That's not but welded together is it? -
been a while since I updated this. Since I got most of the 88 Chief done and back together(for now) I can start working on the 99mj again. Started to swap out the doors for the 99power doors and tighten up a couple loose ends with the interrior and wiring. Still have the entire front suspension to do but I have decided to go with coil overs. Just waiting to sell my Grand Cherokee for some extra loot to ge them ordered. I also will be ordering a custon front dana60 housing from Soild with the billet inner knuckles and Using the stock chevy 60 outers and brake set up I have laying around. I have the 35 splind detroit and just need to get some shafts made and order the 5.13's . I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

$125 MJ - Project 99 Cheromanche
1999MJ replied to bucketheadben's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I have done this swap and if you plan on using the 99 seats in the MJ cab then you would be better off using the entire floor from the 99 Cherokee because you will need those seat brackets. -

Thanks, Not really sure about the bumpers yet. Have a couple more things to finish up before I get to that but I'll be making them along with a set of sliders. -
also check the fire wall for open holes or missing gromets. That's where I found a couple leaks in mine.

decided to scrap the flat bed idea. I found a nice short bed for a gret deal that I just couldn't pass up. Just getting it fitted up and I'll post some pictures up later on in the week -
I would love to be there when the new owner sees it in person. :headpop:

what year truck is this on? -
OK. So I went and checked out the truck this morning. Let me just say this...Pictures can be deceiving. The truck is not as nice as the pictures make it look. It was for sure a work truck! The interrior was the nicest part of the truck. There was a fair share of rot in places such as the rot on the rear lower sections of the bed and the driver side cab corner was bubling real nice and if I touched it it would have been a hole there. Looked like someone had droped something real heavy on the driver side bed cap which left a nice 2" deep dent right behind the cab. The floor wasn't showing any signs of rot from the out side but looked like it had been undercoated real well at some point. The trans pan looked like it was rotting away and looked real brittle but wasn't leaking yet. The trar flares and bed sides were gouged up pretty good. Looked like someone backed into a couple things. No one was home so I didn't get to hear it run but really didn't need to after seeing everything else. If you ask me I would say that's about a $1500.00 truck at the most. But that's just me
