Finally got it out of the garage under it's own power. Made a mount for the fuel tank so I can remove the bed (not sure if i'm doing a flat bed or looking for a factory bed) without having to take out the tank or e-brake set up. Got the cab corner replaced and painted. Removed the front bumper ( going to build a new one) and that's about it for now. Got the 8.8 all cleaned up ready to go in with a spring over and going to get started on the front suspension. -
started my 92 2wd to 4wd and a 6.5 inch lift

did you order the crossmember reght from BDS seperate. That's a nice piee to start out with and would save me alot of time from fabing my own. How much was it if you don't mine me asking? -
Around here, the Fords seem to dominate all the Bow Ties, and Rams. Also, are some of you basing your answers on what other's have told you? My views are from first hand experience. Around here it seems the dodge is the truck of choice. I have always been a chevy guy my whole life but when it came to buy a new truck the druamax was way out of my price rance at the time but it what I whould have prefered also. I am 100% anti ford. I'm a big fan of the cummins but a first time dodge owner. Not really crazy about the styling and the interrior is a little cheep and the seats are a little uncomfortable but all and all I am happy with the dodge. I beat the piss out of it and it tows like a SOB with the 6 speed and a couple engine mods. And they don't look to shabby with a couple things done to them do I see a photo opp???

I just use the POR marine clean stuff. Gets all the crud off real fast and easy. Or I just use a basic metal prep chemical which works well also -
looks sweet. Nice job on it

pulled the rugs and was surprised to see verry little rust and no holes So i just scuffed everything up and coated it with POR15 Next was to get rid of the rust and rot on the cab corner Have the new used cab corner in place and just need to weld it and do final body work Hope to get the fuel tank mounted and start on the flatbed this weekend. Also started preping the ford 8.8. Just need to replace the calipers and roters -

Made a little more progress with the Chief today. Got the bed off and tossed it behind the garage. Think I'm going to end up scraping it and going with a flatbed. Got the frame striped and coated with POR15, Started to replace the driver side cab corner, Got the floors all sanded and coated also. I'll post some pictures up later when I get them off the camera. -

I think it looks real sharp. Will loke even better with the pinstriping. Nice Job  -
Where do I find Xylene? Home Depot? Lowes? My buddy told me to get some simple green, and try that. I think it is a RE 5.5 kit. Or at least some sort of a knock off.... On another note, I power washed it today, everything under the hood, and on the bottom, down till I could see paint. The high pressure water just isn't enough for the fine film of grease on the paint though, so it still needs something before I can paint it. I'll have pictures tomorrow of it all clean (almost clean). You can get the Xylene at home depot. It takes that nasty film right off

I used Xylene and a stiff brush and scrubed and scrubed and scrubed then hit it with the power washer and scrubed some more/ Does that have the 5.5 Re kit in it?

it's amazing the amount of money these things are going for. I had these transformers when I was a kid. Who knew they would be worth this much!!

The PO said the radiator was new but just noticed last night it had a leak so I just got back from the parts store and decided to change it to the open style cooling system so I got new rad, heater core and a fresh water pump just to be 100% sure. Some budjet build this turned out to be :headpop:

Quick question for you guys. I swaped in a 95 HO long block with the Renix injection and used all the 88 acc. but left the 95 water pump on there. Can any one tell me if there's a diference between the 88 and 95 pump. Is one standard rotation(88)? and is the 95 a reverse rotation? Reason I ask is because I just fiored up the engine and it's over heating. I replaced the thernostat, got all the air out of the system and pybassed the heater core (Needs to be replaced) and has a new Rad and hoses. If any one has any info please let me know. Thanks Brian

the 78 and 79's are the best bet if your going to stay full width. The pumpkin has the correct offset you need which leaves you enough room to mount a spring bucket of some sort on the driver side. the new ones have a diferent off set. It's more to the driver side and there's about 2 or 3" of axle tub to work with. If you plan on narrowing it then the newer 80's style is the one you want because you only have to shorten one side (passenger side) Hope this info helps out a bit

i don't have a problem with running spacers just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about these being sold on ebay

i'm also fabing up some MJ sliders and bumpers. I'll throw up a couple pictures when I'm done and I can build them upon request if any ones interested.

Any one know anything about these wheel spacers or have any personal experience with them. Figured they would be usefull when I swap in my 8.8 and run stock wheels http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-EXP ... 7197QQrdZ1

made a little more progress on this unnamed project. Didn't end up using the 88 engine I had. I picked up a 95 HO with low miles and just bolted all the Renix stuff on there and the good old BA10 untill it blows. Just waiting on a few odds and ends I had to order from the dealer and I should be able to fire it up. Here's a couple pictures of the engine in there.
