Gas tank moved to bed of truck?
1999MJ replied to Mitch's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the factory tank mounted the same antidisestablishmentarianism in my 88 Chief. When i did the 99HO swap I mounted the XJ tank in the bed. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures. -

Still working on getting the decals made for everyone that's interested but in the mean time I picked up a 94 Cherokee complete and I will be doing an HO swap on my 88 Chief. When I swaped the engine in a couple months back I got a 95 HO long block and stuffed the Renex injection on there. So all the wiring from this 94 will be going in the Chief. I also blew up the BA10 ( big surprise there) So I will also be swaping in the auto trans and my Tera 4:1 transfercase I had from My grand cherokee. Stay tined for some pictures and updates I also got seate and started making some armor and bumpers for it. I have alot of crap going on at the moment. I will be adding pictures as I make progress. -
[teeheehee :nutshot: yeah, she looks BA for sure. whats the plan for the rear fenders? gonna sheetmetal in there or leave it open? It's going to be getting an exo cage and I will be closing in the rear section. Just haven't got that far as of yet. Taking a little brake on it for now to get some of my own crap done

That's funny that you pointed that out. I have had this thing sitting here for the past 3 months and never even noticed it.
-
Been building this for a friend inbetween messing around with my own stuff. It's a 90 has about 8" of lift (give or take) Full width dana 60's front and rear with disc brakes, 5.38's, spool in the rear and detroit in the front with 35 spline Alloy shafts. Sitting on 39's right now but will be getting 42's on DIY beadlocks
-
looks like it was fun getting them to fit in there... Mine should be here Monday. I think I'm just going to make an entirly new bracket and not bother using the factory stands and see how that goes. The gray looks nice in there with the blue interrior
-
I finally got my 97+ interrior install complete also Just waiting on a new carpet. Thinking abut doing the same on my 88 Chief
-
just ordered a set of gray ones for my self
-
I would let the 88 Chief go for about $5500 (I have about twice that into it) and I don't think I can part with the 99

Great job on the flares. Your rig looks very good. I've always liked the Chief hood decals. They look super in black on your white truck. Been looking for a complete set of these hood decals for a long time. Stupid question, but anyone have some laying around?? Or know of a source for repros? When I get my friend to remake the decals for me I can se if he will do an extra set of hood decals for you if your interested. -
Mrsimon's First Mj Project (Tube Bed Page 7)

U don't need to spend 600 on a welder just to fix those floors in that think. Get some pannel bond which is a 2 part epoxy and some premade floor bans. Body shops use the glue all the time and i think it's like $30 or $40 a tube. Not 100% sure where to get it. I used it before but got it from my cousins body shop. Just an Idea. Good luck with the project -
Looks like everyone is feelin the White and black look. I was leaning more twards that but opinions are nice. Thanks everyone so far

Jeepco's got it. The fronts are the 97-01's and the rear are stock MJ flairs just did a little sanding and reforming of the plastic. -
Getting ready to finish up the body with and slap a coat of paint on the Chief. Just not sure what color.... I was going to just respray it white and I have a buddy that's going to remake all the Chief decals for me. Should I stick with that idea and keep it OG looking or do someting diferent? Having a hard time making up my mind. If anyone has any photoshop skills maybe thay could add some color to it. or Take off the chief decals or add the decals to a diferent color base. Have some fun with it

that's a decent looking bumper. When I build the bumpers for mine and any one likes them maybe I can make a couple of them for a decent price

Sooner or later I'm going to swap the 97+ front clip on here but for now I just put the 97 front flairs on. Wanted to do something with the rear ones so they kind of matched the fronts. So I took a trip the the local JY and got a set of flairs for $10.00 and started sanding untill I got them to look like this Almost look like the fronts right? The plastic is verry thick on the top section of these flairs. I achieved this look buy taking a red 3m abrasive disc on a 90 degree die grinder and took down the majority on the plastic with that. Then came back with a DA sander with 80g then 120g then primed tham and finish sanded them with 320 and painted them with plastic coat bumper paint. Took me the good part of a saturday[/img] -
this is the company that makes the turbo's. They do have a little bit of turbo lag but all in all arent a bad system. I have a friend running the twins on his 05 vet. I was impressed http://www.ststurbo.com/how_it_works
