Low/ inconsistant oil pressure
BLHTAZ replied to Ben-88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Switch to a WIX, Motorcraft, Delco or most any other name brand than Fram. They have a history of doing things like this. After you switch it, check the pressure with a manual guage when the engine is hot. I had the exact same issue with mine, but I use either the Mopar filter or the AMSOIL filter. My pressure was very low when hot and when we opened it up it needed Rod Bearings, Main Bearings and an Oil Pump. My presure is better, but still not where it should be as the crank is slightly out of round and had some minor scaring on it and really needs to be replaced. That's not going to happen though as I will put another engine in it before doing just a crank. -
Yeah, that canister stores vacuum for the HVAC system. If water got in, there is something comprimised somewhere...you just have to find where.

I didn't even think about the diesel. Why the hell would someone take out the diesel and replace it with a 360...

:hmm: Someone offers advice on a potentially life threatening issue and you call them whiney women... :shake: That's just wrong dude  This is one of those things that seems like a good idea at the time, but there are dire consequences to be paid for mistakes made. You may never have a problem and may not be worried about it, but you should thank the guys here for offering the info so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed. We are concerned for your safety and that of the folks around & with you...not to mention keeping another MJ alive & well

If you have had it under water, then it could have gotten in there through a bad hose connection, a crack in the canister, a cracked hose etc, etc... Check the canister itself real good for small cracks and be sure all of your hoses are in good shape. Are you having any issues with your A/C or heater controls?

Yep...it's just an expensive show toy now, but hey...that's what some people like

Saweet!! One day I will have an old one like that Hell...if I hang on to the MJ long enough, my dream will come true :clapping:

Your evap canister should not be anywhere near the bumper. Are you possibly talking about the vacuum canister that is in the right front corner? Either way...no, it should not have water in it no matter which one it is. ;)

100% agreed...8" wide is the way to go. 10" wide is just too wide for the 12.50 tire unless it is just for looks and not goingto be aired down & wheeled. Personally, I thought it was 4" BS for the 10" wide wheels and 3.68" or 3.75" BS for the 8" wide wheels. The 10" will need to be pushed out a little more than the 8".

Filling coolant in a closed system
BLHTAZ replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is WAY too much work... :ack: I never tried the hose filling method mentioned here, but if you don't want to disconnect hoses or anything, this is the easiest way that I found... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12311 -
Cat converters and e-brakes
BLHTAZ replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, I can run VIN's to check for open recalls if you wish. If anyone wants it checked just PM me with the last 8 digits of your VIN and I will let you know. I can't remember which one for sure, but it's either Eagle or CW that had a link to a good deal on a quality Cat Converter. The brake cable should be pretty simple to do and not take more than 20 - 30 minutes. I can't remember if you have to actually take the brakes apart or not, but even if you do it's still not a hard job. -
I checked out the color options for the board this morning. This is what it defaulted to with the new set up... SubSilver This is the other Blue option...actually called ProSilver. It's the only one that shows the CC logo... This is my personal favorite... Black Pearl

Yeah...I need to reload Firefox. I had it on my other computer, but never put it on this one.

I'm running IE, but it didn't do it on the other site...only since this new update has been done. I'll look in to it and see if there is a setting to change, but I know when I am building pages on my personal site I have to tell it to "open links in the same window" or "open in new". EDIT: I just went and found a link and instead of just clicking on it, if I right click it, I get options for "open in new window" or "open in new tab"...just strange that I have never had to do that before as it always automatically opened a new window

They got a little scare last night in the first half. They weren't quite sure what to do with a real challenge for the first time this year, but they did overcome and make it happen.

Filling coolant in a closed system
BLHTAZ replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have heard of doing it that way in the closed system. Personally, I converted to the open system and don't have that worry any more. If it is working for you and not overheating or having any other issues, then I say rock-on and don't worry about it :D -
 Pete... is there a way to get links to open in another browser when clicked on? Right now, every time a link is clicked it uses the browser window that this site is in to go to the new site and if you forget and "close" that site instead of using "back" you have to open a new browser and log back in here  Other than that...I love the new set-up...Great Job!!!

That one almost rolled over in the mudpit. He got too close to the side and his front tire climbed the wall... :clapping:

 If someone really got upset over that they need to go crawl back under their rock and hibernate for a while longer. :shake:
