  1. Hey Tom... Thanks for the reply. Somehow I missed it until now... ;) I will order some rubber bushings when I get to work today then. TNT... I am taking a guess that this is what you are asking, but not sure...
  2. Yes, that is correct. I was able to drive it to Lowes today and get it on level ground. It sits the same as it was before...nice and level. I don't think that it will settle any more than it is and I am happy with the way it turned out...just need to get the noise fixed. I still haven't had the chance to email Tom and find out if the bushings are poly or not though.
  3. Yea...I was thinking that poly may be the issue too. We did tighten everything with the weight on it and all the bolts were installed with grease on the bolts.
  4. They are the same as the factory springs, just 3" lift. They have a terrible "creeking" that I can not figure out. I found one shackle bolt that we forgot to tighten up and thought that might be the problem, but it seems to have gotten worse after I snugged it up. The springs obviously come with new bushings, but maybe I need to replace the shackle bushings or the shackles themselves. I find it hard to believe that the shackle bushings would be the problem all of the sudden like that though. I'll have to ask Tom if he uses rubber or poly bushings in the springs.
  5. OK..they are done :D It turned out very nice...nearly exactly the same height as well, but I think just a little lower if anything. These springs are definitely a great fit with the RE 3.5" kit. Here are a few pics form the mornings work... This is a frined of mine (Will) that did a lot of the work due to my bad back. Here are some comparison shots... Here is the after shot... ...and this is just a couple other Jeeps sitting around during the fun  The CJ belongs to Will, the TJ belongs to Bill (who came to our rescue with a more powerful impact gun for the spring bolts) and the YJ is ours.
  6. Well... I must confess... We have the round as well ;)
  7. Guess you haven't seen the t-shirt that I am making lately Josh... I just need to make a version with the MJ/XJ grill on it now . :chillin: ;)
  8. Glad you are safe again  . I purchased a set of Ford 19lb injectors on eBay for $20 and used them to replace the old ones in mine. When I found the leak, I discovered that it had three different types of injectors in it so I decided to just replace them all. The set I got were out of a 4.6L Mustang...slightly used, but in great shape...and...8 of them for $20 :D .
  9. Yea...who woulda' known that all you needed was some small rocks... 8)
  10. I served in the ARMY and while I don't agree with the "way" he did it, I do agree with what he did. If the mexicans are living here, they should already know the laws on such things and deserve no furrther consideration in such matters. This is America...if they don't like it...they can get the F*&^ out.
  11. On other tip... Put a very light coat of grease on the o-rings before trying to insert them back into the engine and rail. I forgot this step and a couple of the o-rings ripped just a tiny bit and leaked worse than when I started   .
  12. If you are using whatever fuel was in the tank from the time it was sitting, then I would say you need to drain it and get some good stuff in there. Gas starts going bad after just 3-4 weeks and can be unuseable after just 2-3 months in some cases. Get some fresh gas and run some injector cleaner through it to start with.
  13. The Rubicon Express 3.5" kit is great. I got it and added the upper control arms and shocks to it all for about $650 8) . I used the add-a-leaf, but will be changing that out to the Hell Creek Suspensions 3" leafs this weekend ;) . Here is what it looks like...
  14. It shouldn't be too much, but it will keep you with a pretty small tire unless you have a lift because pushing them out will cause them to rub easier at the front & rear of the fender when turning with a larger tire.
  15. OOOPS... Sorry, I didn't see your post about the stuff being disconnected.
  16. :chillin: That rug is an old one that was going to be thrown away, but we decided to keep it on the screen porch, so it is actually outside ;) . There will be plenty more pics when I do it  .
  17. :laughin: No...I disconnected the part attaching it to the differential and threw that piece away ;) . Everything else is still there.
  18. That is a weight sensor to tell the brake system that you are carrying a load. Basically it is non-essential and can be discarded. I just disconnected mine and threw it away. ;)
  19. AMSOIL has been my ONLY choice for all of my vehicles for nearly 10 years now. It is the only choice for me :D . With 100% synthetic, I don't have to worry about these things.
  20. Hey Pete...check www.uline.com for boxes. That is where we buy all of ours and they have a 4x6x9 box that works great for hats and cost about .25 each. We ship 6-8 hats a day in them from our eBay sales ;) .
  21. I first found them on eBay, then i found that Tom is a member here as well so I contacted him through here and got a set coming. Great guy, nice product and fast shipping. Thank you. That is our intention with this one...just to restore it and make a "nice" looking truck. We have the YJ for trail beating. ;)
  22. The leaf springs from Tom at Hell Creek Suspensions got here the other day. They are very nice and I can't wait to get them installed. Should be doing it on Sunday 8) . I will take comparison pics to the AAL's that are in there now and hopefully it comes out level. I am just slightly worried that these springs will be a little taller than the AAL with the RE 3.5" kit that I installed...then I would have to lift the front a little more...and buy new shocks ;) .
  23. Hey Josh...it is most likely a 231 My '88 has a 231 and the "part time" light is what shows that you are in 4wd. I had to replace the vacuum switch on mine as the part time light was staying on all the time because of the switch being stuck.
  24. The best fit that I have seen is the buckets from a 2 door XJ (non-rocker) mounted on the MJ brackets. You have to do a small amount of cutting & welding to make it work, but it is not real hard. The benefit of the 2 door XJ seats is that they have the flip forward feature to allow access behind your seats when needed.
  25. Hey Josh... Sounds like it may be time for you to get creative and come up with a good solution that you can market ;)
