  1. Yes...XJ kit, but no, I swapped the AAL for the longer one. It was about the same length as the main leaf...minus the eyes of course. As Pete said, it will go in, but you will be sitting about 1" - 1.5" low in the rear. It's really not a terrible ride, but I know it would have no flex if I were to want to use it off road.
  2. BS on these wheels is 3.75 with no rubbing, and yes, it is the XJ kit. Sorry I forgot to answer that earlier, but I am trying to sneak and do this at work ;) .
  3. Yes, the AAL did give the right amount of lift to level it, but remember...it is a bit stiff. The kit comes with lower control arms. I bought the uppers and the adjustable track bar from RE and I bought some ProComp ES9000 shocks locally here.
  4. It came out level as the AAL gave about 3" in the rear.
  5. Hey Keith... SOA would not work for me with this one as it is too much lift. This kit already came out a little higher than what we wanted, but it will settle a bit, so it should be OK. This is not going to be a trail machine. We are building it for looks and to be a spare daily driver if the YJ breaks or my truck is down for some reason. ;) Tina drives the MJ if it is raining so she doesn't have to drive the YJ and get wet going to work as we keep the top off of it all the time now.
  6. Did some work on the Jeep this week :D . 3.5" Rubicon Express Super Ride kit, which actually yielded about 5.5" of lift 8) . It is a little stiff with the AAL's, but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I am going to order some Metric Ton rear leaf springs to replace them soon though ;) 8) . Before... After...
  7. You may know this, but be sure that you leave the front drive shaft out while the gears are different in them though.
  8. I have pondered that too, but I can't make up my mind if I like it. I am not a huge chrome fan, but the wife really wanted this one and it was free, so I could not really argue about it ;) .
  9. You can bleed the system by parking the truck with the front end facing slightly down hill and removing the temp sensor that is in the left rear of the head. It screws straight down in just under the Map sensor on the firewall. Put plenty of fluid in the bottle then remove the sensor and allow a good flow of fluid to come out. You may notice a few air bubbles, but it should only take a few seconds then stick the sensor back in, tighten it and be sure to refill the bottle if needed. The closed system is a real pain in the @$$, so I now have all the parts needed to do a swap to an open style system and should be getting it done here soon so I can do a write up on it for anyone on here that wants to make the change. I have been waiting on the radiator as I wanted a 3-row and the one I ordered came in damamged the first time, so I had to wait on another  .
  10. Yes, the injector is the same for 1987 - 1990 MJ & XJ 2.5L engines.
  11. The bushings are worn out on the stock arms, so they have to be replaced one way or another. It is a "looks" thing as well because this is being done more for looks than anything. ;) Thanks for that info. I'll check in to that too.
  12. WOW...how much drop is that for? The stock MJ shackles seem to be about 4.5" eye to eye, so it would seem that 8.75" would be a bit extreme.
  13. Hey...welcome to the site... I believe it would be one of these if not a combination of more than one.
  14. Yes...that's it, and yes...it worked well for me.

    Oil Change

I use nothing but AMSOIL oil & filters on all of my vehicles and equipment including my generator, lawn mower, weedeater and chain saw.
  16. As far as the front end goes...yes, they are the same. The CJ8 is just a longer wheel base, but they are the same outside of that. Go HERE for CJ8 info. And HERE for CJ7. The CJ7 one kinda sucks, but the CJ8 link is a good one.

    DSL Questions

You ever call RoadRunner tech support and get an aswer of 'thanks for calling (the) roadrunner(s) national helpdesk, this is colton, how may I help you?' rest easy as its me, a fellow jeeper :D (I work for TWC at a call centre here in Canada) That's cool. Fortunately, I have not had to call for help since we got it over 5 years ago now :D . The only thing I have had trouble with was a modem that went bad.
  18. Absolutely!!! They just make life soooooo much easier.
  19. Exactly... XJ leafs are 5" too short, so there is no way they will work.
  20. Ahhh yes...I didn't think that he could have been abreviating traction bar  . Sorry for my babble if that is what you meant...
  21. A track bar is not a solution for axle wrap. The track bar is to keep the axle centered under the vehicle, but on a leaf spring vehicle, a track bar does nothing but limit flexibilty. When you do your spring over be sure to use the long "anti-wrap" spring perches. RE makes the ones that I used on our YJ when I did the SOA on it. I took off the track bars both front & rear and took off the sway bar as well. There are anti-wrap devices out there, but I would recommend the perches to start with and see what you get.

    DSL Questions

For that price, I would get the faster one. I much prefer Cable to DSL as I have used both and Cable is definitely faster, but if Cable is not available to you, then I guess it's a moot point. I pay $49.95 for my 10 Mbps Roadrunner.
  23. Yea...he has been slowly working at it for quite a long time now.
  24. As I have found out, there is no difference in them. Everything that I have looked up has been '91-'97 Cherokee...no mention of any split year issues. Yes...carnuck, you are right, I should not have said "requires", but I am just the type of person that will not short cut something, so "to me" it is required, but not to do the job. ;)
  25. When I did this to our YJ, I removed all the vacuum lines and plugged off the connections with those little rubber vacuum caps that you can buy at most any auto parts store. I left the vacuum switch in the t-case and just put the rubber caps on all 4 of hte ports to keep any trash from getting in it.
