  1. That is not a do-it-yourself type job. You really need to have someone with the right tools and knowledge for a job like that or you will be doing it all over again in a short time.
  2. Yes...you can get alloy shafts for the HP D30 and have a very dependable axle for the average wheeling. D30's are not really given the credit due them as they hold up much better than a lot of people want you to believe...especially if they are the ones with the 297 ujoints ('95 & newer I believe).
  3. You should be fine. I wheeled the piss out of an XJ with a D30 front and 36" TSL's in Tellico a couple months ago and made it through everything with no trouble and no winching.
  4. If you use shackles that are long enough to lift it 3", you will have to adjust the pinion angle on the axle as the shackles will cause it to turn up too far and you will have vibe issues and possibly trouble with ujoints. Shackles are definitely the wrong way to lift a truck of any kind.
  5. OH...I 100% agree on American made and I buy A LOT of stuff on eBay, but I am always sure to look for the American made stuff. It is there, but you have to search a little harder. Most people that sell it are quite willing to advertise it in most cases though.
  6. Just go to eBay and type in "Jeep Comanche". You will find all that you are asking for there as well ;) .
  7. Piant codes can still be looked up through the VIN# as well. I did it for mine when the wife got t-boned and we had to repalce the door and paint the whole drivers side of the MJ.
  8. Whoa whoa whoa.... This ain't Myspace.... :rotfl2: I was wondering how long that would take...I have had those in my files since long before that wacked site came around ;) .
  9. Yes, my front sockets were the problem as well when I bought mine. DO NOT put a large capacity fuse in there as you will end up causing more damage and trouble than you already have.
  10. Don't be afraid to say it the way it's supposed to be said...:D
  11. Look in my original post. I put a link to the company that makes the lights...just click on the name in blue and you may be able to find a resource through them.
  12. Yes, that is correct. I did not explain completely on that one, but that's what I did. ;) The shop did not take it off, but because it was not there to start with, they were not required to put one on.
  13. $200 would be a good deal as I used Flow Master 40 series single in dual out and it was nearly $300. The muffler alone was $120...
  14. I don't know what your laws are like up there, but down here we can just have a custom exhaust built without a cat for around $250 - $300 from the manifold back (not including the manifold/header).
  15. Hey Tom...thanks for the info. I'll contact you about getting some rubber bushings for them. Please be assured that I am not upset or angry with you over any of this as I knew the deal when I got the springs  ;) . Just looking for what to do to make them be what I want.
  16. Great place for a relaxing vacation . When I lived in NC, we would go camping on the outer banks 3-4 times a year at the KOA at Cape Hatteras and visit the other islands from there. Being originally frm PA, we had family come down a couple times a year and that is where we would take them camping. Ocracoke Island used to be know for a great wild horse population, but I don't know what it is like now.
  17. The factory bushings are rubber inside of a steel sleeve and neither end would fit in the spring. :dunno:
  18. 8) Very cool. I just did an Elf and a Scrooge.
  19. :clapping: I have heard the song, but that is a very new twist on video with it.
  20. If the fluid appears to be a more clear looking fluid leaking (like gear oil) it may be the slave cylinder leaking. That is my problem right now as I have to keep adding brake fluid to the master cylinder every 2-3 days  . That is getting fixed tomorrow as it is getting a new clutch, slave cylinder, rear main, tranny mount and oil pan gasket.
  21. Here is the link to the write up that I did on replacing the interior lights. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... highlight=
  22. Hey Tom... Thanks for the reply. Somehow I missed it until now... ;) I will order some rubber bushings when I get to work today then. Well...I got the factory rubber bushings, but they do not fit in these springs. The factory bushings are way to big to fit in the eyes of the Hell Creek springs. We took the poly bushings out and coated them inside & out with a good synthetic grease so it is quiet as a mouse right now, but I know that will not last forever. Tom...what bushings are you using in your springs? Can I buy them from you or can you tell what to get?
  23. OH...with these springs, I step on the rear bumper and it drops maybe an inch and I weigh 255 ;) .
  24. The springs I got are the same as factory according to Tom...980#. He offers a higher one if needed at #12xx (can't remember exactly right now).
  25. I just got some of these and they are great. Tom is a member here with the user name "hellcreek". 3" Leaf Springs from Hell Creek Suspensions They matched up well to my 3.5" Rubican kit, so adding a small shackle lift may do what you want.
