? on Mechanical temp gauge
BLHTAZ replied to Throttle_Jockey's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sensor is here... -
I like Right Stuff as well, but I have never used any type of sealer on a 4.0L water pump and I have changed a few. The only gaskets I have ever put any kind of sealer on were cork gaskets. If you have a rubber gasket on something...there is definitely no need for sealer.

88 Sport Truck aka Ole Rusty
BLHTAZ replied to Throttle_Jockey's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
 Looks good. Keep the updates coming as you progress. As for the pic size...since you are using Photobucket, you can resize them right from your album. Just click edit and it will be very easy to do. You can also select the size you want them to be at the time you upload them to your album so they are automatically resized as uploaded ;) . 800 pixels wide or smaller is typically the desired size for forums. -
leaf spring protection/paint??
BLHTAZ replied to lostissues's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I occassionally spray mine with some flat black paint, but to maintain them in between I typically clean them and spray a good coat of silicone on them. I have done this for years now on our YJ nad have never had a problem with rust...BUT, I do live in Florida and rust is not a big issue here anyway... :brows: -
The post entry to make the picture show as Pete has done above would look like this... :D

"A" piller mounted Offroad lights...?
BLHTAZ replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
We had them on our YJ, but took them off because they serve no purpose but to get banged around and broken by tree branches etc, etc... I have not seen them on a MJ or XJ though. You can't ever use them as they are not legal on the road and if you use them on a trail ride you blind the people in front of you unless you are leading. :dunno: -
 That is crazy. I haven't had time to check it out for validity, but it's just insane that it would happen for real. I would be suing the hell out of someone too if I were him.

I can sell you the OE handle for $60 + shipping if you want the original one, but that is still a bit high if comparing to these other options  .

hub is stuck now what?????????Urgent!!
BLHTAZ replied to jeep_freek88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have always had good luck with soaking them with PB Blaster, let it set for about 10 minutes and then use one of the above methods to knock it out. It has been my experince that once it breaks loose, it come right out with no trouble when lubricated with PB. Sorry I didn't catch this sooner to offer the advice, but I am having some coputer issues and I am very limited on Internet time right now. -
We chose the Super Swamper TrXus MT Radial. We also wanted the aggressinve look for a DD truck that will not see offroad use and it rides very well.
-
I am not a big fan of red, but that looks like a nice clean job & solid truck.
-
Definitely like the taillights  . If it were a DD, you could easily use a different style light to have turn signals & back -up lights added in there. Great job!!

The "Might Joe" build... -Full Console 1/25/09-
BLHTAZ replied to BLHTAZ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Yeah...it can be used without cutting, but I decided to cut it anyway and feel it looks better cut now. They were not my first choice until I found that I had a connection there. I had gone to two other places, but they both wanted near or slightly over $400  . -
I am of the opinion that he did it intentionally with a blank for the "shock appeal". I would have a hard time believing that he screwed up like that if he is who he says he is.

MJ stalling when i take it out of gear.
BLHTAZ replied to 500-comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nothing special...they are typically a simple remove and replace. I have heard that some of the TPS on our trucks are adjustable and you should have a multi-meter to set the resistance, but I have not experienced that one and I am not sure what years that applies to. Our YJ did a very similar thing, but it was a simple R&R...no adjustment. -
Notice how there is never a good difinitive shot of questionable creatures when they are seen or caught. It's just another load of BS from a guy that has already been busted fabricating the "Big Foot" hoax before.

 That's one way to make a point...

I know how you feel. I waited and looked for over a year until I lucked up and found a nice set of MJ buckets on eBay. Shipping on a seat (depending on where to & from) will be anywhere between $40 - $60 by UPS.

Over Heated now water in oil
BLHTAZ replied to jeepman09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You really should have a machine shop at least check the head to be sure it is still true. It would really suck to do all of this an end up with the same issue because of a warped head. -
Exactly...they are now mixing it in the gasoline so that everyone is getting worse MPG and then they jacked the price up. How do you think that the oil companies have generated such huge "record" profits in the 2nd quarter of this year? E85 =

 Hey...welcome to the Club. Nice rigs and gotta love them ProComp Xterrains. we use them on our YJ for crawlin' and love them. Be sure to start a thread on your MJ in the Projects forum so you can keep us up to date with the conversion and whatever else you are doing to it ;) :D .

My first thought when I saw your post was...get an XJ. Since you don't like them, I would then have to go along with trimming the herd and agree with Eagle on the TJ Unlimited ('03-'04 Rubicon if possible) as the family wheeler. Plenty of room and a capable rig right out of the box.

There should be an "edit" button in the upper right corner for you to edit your post if you wish to change the picture to a smaller one ;)

MJ stalling when i take it out of gear.
BLHTAZ replied to 500-comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm thinking TPS. Does it recover and stay running if you tap the gas pedal a little to keep it going?
