  1. I hope the universals are truly that as I may need a set to bolt in a set of front tilt Rodeo seats.
  2. Thanks for mentioning that. Just another of those lil quirks on inter-changeability thats good to know.

    Jeep mudder

These old trucks never quit woring hard. http://www.themud.com/album2011/mud201197.html
  4. Maybe bad gas/water in tank/plugged air filter. Water in gas kept mine from starting but with a shot of help it would run all day if I kept it off idle, weird stuff happens. Dumped in about three cans of HEET (I think) to absorb water and with full tank of fresh gas haven't had any more problems.
  5. Obiiviously they were more crafted at wood-working than mechanicing. The wood interior of that truck looks similiar to an outhouse I utilized in Alaska years ago. They did a nice job on this one.

    D44 worth

You mean apiece I'm think-un & hub to hub. Around here they want 4-450 for them.
  8. since you have the seats out, you should pull the carpet and clean the floor up and power wash the carpet. Be like new. :D Thats on the agenda for This weekend as the Sun is suppose to pop out. Gotta wash down the driveway so I'm gonna get both done at the same time.
  9. Removed the vinyl bench seat and set in a Rodeo bucket for bracketry mock-up. Old bench Rodeo bucket Image Not Found Pass seat waiting Image Not Found
  10. Use your circuit tester to see if you have continuity between terminals B & C at the NSS harness connector when in P or Neutral. If you don't you need to loosen the NSS adjusting nut (the small top one) and rotate the switch until you have continuity in both positions and then lock it down to 9 ft#. If you can't get it to a continuity state the NSS could be bad. On an 89 terminal B & C are the 2 terminals located in the center of the lower row of the harness. The harness is located near the rear of block on pass side of MJ. You can usually get the alignment close by aligning the small notch/groove on the end of he NSS shaft that takes the large nut with the line that runs up the cover of the switch. Hope this helps.
  11. When ever I go through Warm Springs I have white knuckles just from dodging drunks coming off the reservation. Love that drive from Redmond to Johnday. Hit sit elk all at one shot on that road just before it really starts to climb to Ochoco. Didn't hurt any of them enuf to cripple them. Rearranged the front of the Ford box van some-what. The drive from Burns to Pendleton on 395 is fun in the Winter.

  13. The E-pals put the light straight down the road with not much to the sides of the road. I use fog/driving lights to supplement the Pals to get better lighting to the roadside's. They do have good cut off line to limit blinding the other traffic.

  15. Once you go past 5000k you get less light output the higher you go, but, a lot more pretty color. The $39 thin ballast lights are crap. Had a couple set of them and they both do the same thing. When I turn them on they may or may not light up, or only one light at a time. The other light comes on when it feels like it. Granted once lit they put out the light. Just quirky.
  16. Wonder why the subject line keeps coming up XJ when I hit MJ. Weird. Damn it just did it here also. MJ MJ MJ

  21. If you pressure washed your TPS you will have to dry it out somehow or replace it. But maybe its not the TPS so here some things you can check to narrow it down. Check fuse in Slot 13 of fuse panel to make sure 7.5 fuse is good. Check the in-line fuse at the TCM (Its on the back side of the fascia below the glove box). If its blown your TCM is not providing shift info to the AW4. If its OK then back probe the wires going from the TCM to the AW4 to check OHM's in Shift Solenoids. TCM must be unplugged, ignition off. Pin test cavity C16 (1st & 2nd gear Solenoid) for 11-15 ohms. Check 15 (3rd) for 11-15 ohms. If ohms are out of this range replace solenoids. Now plug the connector back to gether and with Key ON & Engine OFF check the TPS signal by: Probing D1 for DC vol of approx 5V. Probing D2 with closed throttle for approx 4.5V. Probing D2 at WO throttle for approx 0.5V. Probing D3 (TPS Ground) for approx 0.1V or less. Probing D16 for ign voltage of 12V. And finally with key OFF D14 should be battery V.
  22. With ign switch on and selector in reverse probe the NSS connector located at the rear of the eng block (in the area of the trans dip stick). There are 2 connectors there, one is gray the other black) you want the black one that goes to NSS. On the NSS side of that connector probe the dark blue wire with the white tracer to see if it has power, this is the hot wire to the NSS. On the engine side of that same connector probe the brown wire with light green tracer to see if it has power. This wire goes to your back up lights. If no power your problem is in/at NSS. Got power than its a problem on down the line between there & BU lamps. Trace the brn/wht wire to the rear checking at all connector plugs for power. My problem turned out to be the brn/lg wire had broke just inside the NSS epoxy and necessitated replacibg the NSS. Thanfully I had grabbed one out of an XJ several weeks earlier as a spare for $20.
  23. Damn that thing looks roll over prone. but I guess with a 4 banger it shouldn't be to dangerous. Make a good camper for a flat lander.
  24. A few MJ's around here. Nice (cherry) one across the street when the owner of the business drives it to work, it belongs to his wife he says. See what appears to be a solid one sitting in country folks front yard on the way to the hills, no signs of any serious rust. Haven't stopped to check it out but I see they have pulled the left front wheel & hub off it. Farmer shows up at the feed store once a week in his 87 2.5 . See several others periodicaly around town so their locals.
