So, many years have gone by with my MJ sitting behind a friend's shop. Finally dragged it back to the house and have it running and driving. Still looks like a toilet, runs...meh. Have it sitting on 31s w/no lift. Going to put my XJs pro comp lift springs up front and aal/shackles out back for 3" lift. I drove it to URE and back second weekend in June for the FSJ East Coast invasion. Had trouble with my front axle disco and had to wheel it in 2wd low range. Have few pics of it and none on the trail as I was not able to keep up in 2wd. Did do Falls Dam and Saw Mill, however! Clutch job was nasty... new clutch/master and slave It's on jack stands in this pic I'm thinking 5.2 or 5.9 swap from a ZJ my bulldog alarm...

GM is pretty easy. The wiring for brake controller is in place. You have to mount the controller under the dash and splice into a wire above the steering column (which goes to the rear) and a power source. In the rear you'll have to separate the big blue wire (it is on my 'Burb and my old 2000 crew cab) from the tail light loom and connect to the correct plug for the trailer (w/electric brakes) you tow. Mine ('96 'Burb) has a 7 pin and aside from the tail/turn/running lights that get installed in the truck side plug, I only used the blue wire for my trailer brake controller. You have a half ton truck. What year? How much does the trailer and load weigh? More than likely it will not exceed the limit for your truck. But it will be close. The biggest problem is your brakes are designed to stop that truck with a full bed at the most. Stopping is the key. I've done it. I towed my Scrambler on a borrowed 16' trailer with my '98 K1500 Yukon. I towed a Bobcat 20 or so miles with it too. It wasn't wired with a controller and the trailer had brakes. The Jeep and trailer weighed about 6500 lbs loaded. It was a struggle for the Vortec 350 to climb up some of the grades around here. You have to pay attention. I didn't make a habit of it and since I've had a big enough trailer I've had a 2500 with a controller.

GW axles have a drivers drop. :roll: This front end is passenger drop. Justin's a good guy tho'. I see where he's open to trades and asking $400 for them...that's not a bad place to start or way too much to pay. If you need GW axles in NC/SC drop me a line. I'm not in the parts business but I have a few FSJ parts. I need parts for other projects. Always looking to trade parts and keep my $$$ in the the wifes purse. :eek:

When I brought mine home and parked it next to the other 6 Jeeps, my wife was none too happy about the MJ. I did eventually move it to a friends shop. What really pissed her off is the fact that it's a 5spd not auto. She's a left handed blonde and the whole shifting and using a clutch has never been, how shall I say, her strong suit. If it were an automatic she would be driving it to work. She had a badass XJ from '92-'95 and until we had kids she always had an XJ or ZJ. She knew what she was getting with me, I had a Jeep when we met and told her to be careful not to compete with it. We celebrated 15 years the 19 Dec. ;)

I had some 37" SSRs on my FSJ. They work like a TSL, maybe a bit softer. I like them just fine but I also don't run them down a road very often. They're still for sale too. :brows:

2wd, I'd put it in neutral and roll. You should be fine if you're careful. I flat towed my YJ with a 1993 XJ (4x4) from Wilton, NH to Austin, TX. I took the shafts out of the YJ and rolled on to Texas. It got hot and hairy trying to stop a few times but we made it fine.

I saw some of the Carolina K-5 guys on the cover...had to buy it. When I opened the pages and saw that yellow MJ.. :eek: I would have to give it a ten for creativity, coolness and coolness. 8) Anyone have the skinny on it?

Our club site and forum cost $12 a month. I pay it. We have the a similar vBulletin as NAXJA (bought it up front). Our club dues pay for our UFWDA membership as well. We have different rules on our site BECAUSE it is a club site. We want folks to take part and introduce themselves because we may actually meet some of them as we are a regional club. We have very few users from outside the Carolinas. If folks put their name in their sig so we know who they are and follow the rules, they are welcome even if it's only to sell their junk. I think it would be more beneficial to the paid members of NAXJA for the admin to restrict other permissions for non-members. Rather than the for-sale section. There are ways to eliminate bots and ways to weed them out. +....I need an 8 1/4 w/3.55s and a trac lock case. ;)

I don't go over there much anymore. I did notice the change and perhaps that's why. I relly don't understand that mentality. Why not restrict their usage of the other forums and let them sell XJ stuff to...NAXJA members? I think they're shooting the wrong foot. I'm just sayin'. :popcorn:

There's a pick and pull Full Size Jeep junkyard in Burnsville, NC. 1 hr N.E. of Asheville. The owners wife (Jackie) has started collecting XJ's and MJ's as well. She has several of both to pick from. As well as every FSJ part you can think of. I got my MJ project from Jackie. ;) Jake's FSJ Junkyard 828-675-0579 The p&p yards around Greenville are EXPENSIVE! You're better off getting the junk from one of the boards or listings at CL or the bay. I called about a BBC engine...any 454. All of them wanted $1500 at least and several wanted a core. :nuts: What do you need. There are several 4x4 shops around here that keep parts for sale.

That's the way I remember it as well. I remember seeing something on pirate about the cage. I used to jump our '93 sport quite a bit. So if you bought one used from the Jeep dealer in S. Austin, TX in '95... ;)
