If you put it out there the Forest Service would get it. You can even use a debit/credit card on the SFWDA link. 8)

THE BEST in the east for sure. This is serious business and we will most likely loose Tellico for ever. If you wheel, HELP. Do something, anything you can do or afford. I went up for the August emergency work day and got the opportunilty to talk to some of the guys at Southern Four Wheel Drive Assoc. that have been working at Tellico as volunteers for 25 years. They have put in tens of thousands of $$$ and man hours over the years. Now they may have to sue the Forest Service to try and protect their investment. Helping SFWDA is the best thing we can do for Tellico. Save Tellico Tellico isn't the only place that is threatened. Check out the Blue Ribbon Coalition site also. Blue Ribbon Coalition

The dude cut the harness.. :headpop: ..I have no Idea why. But no, I don't think it will work. I'll find out when I get my hands on one from an XJ. I've been PMing with a guy at naxja. Looks like I might get one out of north GA. All I 'll need at that point, are some gaskets for the motor and a power steering pump. And some quality time with the little truck.

Sorry. This project is going to be slow going. I have to get my trail rig ready for the season...lots of changes to it this year. ;) I'm still trying to find the correct harness. I need a '92-'95 XJ 2.5 harness. I can't control myself. After trying to sell some Wagoneer axles (3.73s, drivers drop Lock Right fr/ centered rr w/ Det. True Track ) with not much luck. I have some spring hangers, some waggy springs, and I think I'm going to sling those axles SOA on leaf springs, under the MJ.

Have any updated pics? This thing is awesome!!! I have been toying with the idea of the late model front clip, but the bed corners to match is just freakin' brilliant!

Nah...I got it from my local FSJ junkyard. His wife is starting a side yard of XJs and picked up 3 MJs. I said in passing I wanted an MJ 4x4, with a 2.5, and he called me. The body...with the exception of the totally awesome paintjob...is nice and in fairly rust free condition. Well worth saving. I may have found the engine harness. A few more things and I'll be able to do the swap. I got the engine and computer from a YJ. ;) I'll take lots of notes and pics for ya. Be safe over there. And thanks for serving. :USAflag:

Well I've done nothing to this rig...yet. I've been working on my FSJ trail rig, trying to get the cage built, 60s regeared and in the thing. I did pick up a 1993 2.5 and computer. I just need the engine harness and I'm ready to upgrade the engine. Also got a parts XJ w/8.25 rear that I'll probably SOA and use in the MJ. 27 spline but better than the 35..IMHO. Got some other parts off it as well. The 4.0 is going into another FSJ project tho'. 8) I really can't wait to get it done, I need something that gets over 14 mpg. :D
-
Yep, that's about what I measured. Thanks. 8) I have some perches and will go ahead and do the rear in SOA.

I'm not familiar with the differences between the MJ and the XJ rear springs and perch placement. In the FSJs the J truck has it's springs farther outboard on the axle than the Cherokee. And a wider rear axle. I just grabbed an XJ parts rig for an FSJ project. It has an 8.25 in the same ratio as my MJ. I was planning to swap the 35 for the 8.25. I took some quick measurements in the rain yesterday (both axles are under rigs), and it looks like the XJ has the perches set farther apart. By only an inch...is that so?

Congrats back at ya! Be safe. :USAflag:

Got myself a front Dana60 for my Chief. I also got myself a new Smith&Wesson model 36 'Airlite' in .38+p, a new single shot in 45-70. From the fam I got some new PS2 games, and of course the standard boxers and Jeep t-shirts. ;) Oh yeah...my wife gave me another kid on the 13th!!! :D I haven't touched my MJ. I need to now tho'. Some ricer crashed into my 'burb and I'll need to drive the truck soon.

Me too. I'm just a couple of hours away. Lower Two here we come!!! BTW Tellico is closed briefly during the winter months. I'll check and post the dates.

That would be the fuel pump. ;)

Thanks I'll look for the pics. I found out about the '86 hood latch already. Kinda goofy...I see why they changed it.

Will late model XJ front sheet metal bolt onto my '86. Has anyone done it? I was thinking of using the whole front clip since my grille/radiator support is busted and the fenders are bashed. The FSJs are interchangable but require some work to get it done. All the grille assemblies are the same dimension but the mounting points are different. I was just wondering if it is the same with the XJ/MJ.
-
Scott, did you use the hardware from a ZJ 35 or 44 with discs to convert your 44? I figured they would bolt onto the 35 without much difficulty, but that looks sweet! We had a '98 ZJ for about 5 years and the 35 self destructed. The carrier bearings simply came apart. I saved the 35 that blew up for the disc set up. The ZJ 44 I replaced it with had the same brakes. BTW...Nice job. 8)

:shake: Never heard of such a thing. That's just what I said! Stevie Wonder and Jeff Healy painted it. I've decided to get some doors, fenders and a hood, rather than try and strip the barn paint. The bed aint so bad...Stevie and Jeff must have been running out of paint or beer.

"The Rat" 1986 LWB 2.5 100,000 miles AX-5 207 30/35 w/3.54
-
Well here it is... 1986 LWB 2.5 TBI AX5 (?) 207 disco 30 and a turdy five w/3.54 gears My first MJ is well used from working and will continue to get abused by me. My plans for the time being are to first get it looking better. I need it to go to jobs and would not like to look like Fred G. Sanford pulling into the sub-division. The engine is tired and it needs a clutch. I will check compression and see where that leads. The worst part is the paint and body work. The rust isn't so bad. This is about the worst of it... The paint on the other hand is just fubar'd... I already have some XJ parts kicking around to add a budget boost (need shackles) and some 31" BFGs. I want to put a ladder rack on it and spray the bed with some liner product. But I'm truly fighting the demon inside me that says, "put those locked GW axles under it" :grrrr: I do have a pile of FSJ axles to play with...

First of all, check the location, Harker Heights, Texas. Nuff said. They actually hunt like that in Texas. They'll spread corn and sit on top of a Suburban with a conning tower, and shoot the deer as they come out to eat the trail of corn. That is perhaps the ugliest FSJ...ever.

Cappa took a bunch of crappa over at IFSJA a few times. Still does. He still hangs out and defends JP. It's his baby and he should. He is by all accounts, a good guy. I think JP sucks tho'. COMMANCHEESE is what killed Custer. Govt. Commancheese! :P

You got it, you must be from these here hills to know that! 8) I ride my bike up Ceasars Head to Brevard quite a bit. We lived in Asheville before we moved here. The MJ I just picked up is from Asheville. I'm down for a Tellico run in the spring...of course y'all will have to see my Cherokee. We have one in the oven, due soon, so I'm sittin' back at the house for a spell. Getting some things ready for Tellico and Callallantee in the spring. We have an FSJ event every June at Uwharrie also. Some guys in our FSJ club are going to Callallantee, Tenn. the weekend of the 28th of October. If you're down for some hardcore wheeling, there will be some going on. I've never been to Gray Rock but hear it's worth the drive.

Fixed that in my sig. Of course you have to know how to read in "redneck" to figure it out. ;) Upstate, near Greenville.
