Easy Outs ARE GOD! -
Ok I've been kinda stumped as to what these two connectors are.. I haven't had my FSM around for me to look it up so I was hoping that someone on here would know off the top of their head. This one is like a Diaphram, possibley for a vac line? it's not conected to anything, is that how it's supposed to be? and if it is, what does it really do? Detect ambient pressure? I don't know. Here's the link to the Image... sorry I don't really know how to post pictures in the forums. http://img229.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 020uz1.jpg And this one seems to be an electrical connector or some sort. No clue what would go in there, what do you think? http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 022ot6.jpg Thanks for your help! Cheers

Another thing you can do is check the resistance across the injector terminals. The reading should be approx. 14.5 ohms. If not, the injector should be replaced. If okay, disco the coil wire and place a 12V test light across the injector terminals. The light should flash when cranking the engine. Does that 14.5 ohms hold true for 90 renix injectors as well? cause if that's the case all my injectors read a solid 16.3 each one.

SomeNew Name replied to A-man930's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well that's rather weird then cause in my case the o2 sensor is brand new out of the box.. the truck hasn't been driven on the street since I installed it... and there was no difference in how it ran before vs after.. -
HELP! suicidal '90 Renix 4.0
SomeNew Name replied to A-man930's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well I've haven't been throwing money at it either, but I've ben trying really cheap stuff... like redoing all my vac lines, the hoses were pourous as hell.. no difference, I pulled my injectors the other day,, and they were in some rough shape. I can't afford new ones so I'm going to have to figure out how to get them cleaned by myself... never cleaned and injector before. well I have another question for ya.. maybe you have the same thing too.. do you find the battery dead quite often? after letting the truck sit for a few days? -
HELP! suicidal '90 Renix 4.0
SomeNew Name replied to A-man930's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
YOu know what mine does the same thing.. feels like it's being loaded eh? I had replaced my o2 sensor a while ago, and tested it, and every other sensor on the truck but still no relief. Also I'm sure the truck dies when you give it a shot of gas, when it starts to idle in the 200rpm range, the shot of gas jumps the rpm up and then dies or drops dramitically right? if so, than you have the same issue as me... if you figure it out Let me know please! -
Any Canadian buy any? you think he would hook us up?

Yeah you could do that, and it's fun too! But as mentioned you should try backing the self adjuster off some, there is a little rubber oval shaped plus in the backing plate behind your drum. pop that off and with two small screw drivers , one holding the lock tab down and another to turn the little star like wheel. Should make it alot easier to pull off. It can be pretty hard to see in there a lil flashlight should help out too. Good luck!

Transmission Mounts
SomeNew Name replied to SomeNew Name's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well I removed the mount and replaced it but while tighting the final mount to cross member bolt the stud snapped off, there must have been a hairline crack or something cause I had only turned the nut a quarter turn and it snapped off, the install was easy as hell, but am far too lazy to remove it to return it. Think I can get away with only the 3 studs holding it in? -
Transmission Mounts
SomeNew Name replied to SomeNew Name's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well I'm looking at tackling this job On Saturday, I'm more or less worried about not being able to get the crossmember bolts out without snappin any off. Does The crossmember really need to be taken off to do this job? or could I manage to slide it in without it removing it? -

Can Anyone explain to me how I would check the serviceability of my Transmission mount... what would I look for if it was shot? What would I hear if the truck was running? What kinda tests can I do? how expensive are replacements? And is the tranny only supported at that one crossmember? or is there another spot I should be checking? Cause earlier in the day I was thinking about the rattling sound I was hearing from the trans tunnel area, but didn't know what it was at all.. so I went underneth the truck while it was running and watched and listened the sound is diffently comming from somewhere around the tranny, and sometimes LOOKs like the tranny is bouncing up and hitting the top of the tunnel. When it seems to be bouncing around it sounds like the engine is being loaded at idle ONLY. these sounds from both the tranny and the engine. kinda diminish as the rpms are increased. Any experience with this issue would be great thank for the help!

Engine Detectives Need Apply!
SomeNew Name replied to SomeNew Name's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No this is diffently a Renix engine so it is an engine from 1987 I was wondering why there were some things missing / somethings that shouldn't be there. well that's annoying, I guess I'll meet to get a manual for a 1987 engine now.. anyone know where I would find one? -
Engine Detectives Need Apply!
SomeNew Name replied to SomeNew Name's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So this engine basically shouldn't be in this 1990 Comanche? -
Well let's start with a little Background information I reciently purchased a 1990 Comanche 4.0L Eliminator for a Cheap price. The PO informed me that it isn't the original engine, that he took it out of a truck that had a roll over. I wasn't complaining too much cause of the price. I did a little searching and saw that the ID on the side of the engine was 701M20 Is it possible that, that IS the orignal engine or was he telling the truth, cause there was something shaddy about him. What should the engine ID be for a 1990 comanche eliminator? plus this truck is having quite a few issues which I will post about in another thread. thanks for the detective work!
