  1. Tires and rims doing it . Charles
  2. /-\ is what I have, which I did not have prior. ( kind of looks like a Ford IFS that the springs have given out on :D ) So I have had to do something when I put the lift under it  If I can tonight I will take photos of everything and post. Only drove it around the drive / yard and it drives like a pig :D Charles
  3. Toe is set to around 1/8" toe in, it was way off after the lift. Had no problem until I put the lift on the front so it has to be something I have done  I will check the caster when I get home tonight as when I checked it at 4 deg was with the wheels stright ahead, but if the caster was way off (axle tilted back from not being at the 5.5" of lift that the UCA were set for) would that not throw camber out? Also going to put it on the lift tonight and see if Any shims are in the LCA pockets. Charles
  4. Has 4 new ball joints and the bearings are also good. Do not think it's a bent axle as both sides tilt 10 degs in at the top and was fine till I put the lift in. So I think it has something to do with the 4.5" lift I put on the front, I know the lift set up was from a 5.5"lift and I did not use any spacers to get extra 1" for the 4.5" springs I used. Charles
  5. Checked both with the wheels straight ahead. Do I check the caster with the wheels full over? I know camber is to be 0deg , what could I have off to make my camber off that much? Charles
  6. Question on alingments. Checked it and have the following problem. Camber 10deg Caster 4 deg. Can the caster out 4degs make the camber be out that much? Charels
  7. Looking good  Charles
  8. Looks like the 81 K-5 I had :D Charles
  9. pingpong answered the brake question with this link: http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/ford88.html Has all you need to know :D Charles
  10. Thanks, That is what I was thinking  Looks like I will get to break in the new MIG welder :D Charles
  11. Need to fix the rockers on the MJ as rust as taken the drivers side out. Should I weld in some sheet metal or put in rock rails? Charles
  12. pingpong Yes it's a big V8. And front leafs would be the ticket as you could build springs for the front. The 6.2 / 6/5 is a very heavy engine and a lot more weight then a 360 :brows: Also my want to beef up the front to handle the weight of the 6.5. Charles
  13. More or less yes. They just played with a couple things and put a turbo on the 6.2 and called it a 6.5. PM me your e-mail address and I will send the Army tech manual on the 6.2/6.5. It's the service manual I use for the engine. Charles
  14. Talking about a injector pump and not a fuel pump and how it holds up and cost to replace it. Just trying to save you trouble and $$$ with the knowledge of my 6.2 with 235,000+ miles and from a friends who worked on the 6.2 / 6.5 both for truck pulls and in Army Humers. Again just trying you help with my knowledge 6.2 / 6.5. Keep the weight down and try not to get on the heavy side of it. Just try not to race anyone as it will be like a MJ with a 2.5 :D Charles
  15. Slow is right, I used to pull a trailer and my tractor ( about 12,000#) to and from Amanda, OH to our place in Tellico TN all the time. After the first trip my Truck pull buds helped me get things fixed so I could make the trip in 7hrs over 13hrs :headpop: Charles
  16. A 700R4 will work, but it's not great for heavy pulling so I wonder if it would not be a great choice for heavy off road. Cummins is they way to go  If I kept the GMC I would have put a Cummins in it when I replaced the engine:D It took a lot of work and $$$ to get the 6.2 pull like a out of the box Cummins, and never could get it to sound like one  Just wish I could get a little Cummins for the MJ and my Ranger :D Charles
  17. If it has a 6.5 with auto go with it. Switch out the turbo for a banks and if you can find a doner 6.2 dump the 6.5 injector pump and put the 6.2 pump on. Get a free flow ext. on it and a K&N filter so she can breath. I had a 2500 up to this x-mass when I blew the engine. Now I have my eye out for a k-5 that I can drop a 6.2 in. Charles Charles
  18. Well I can help on this topic :D First if you can get your hands on a 6.2 you will be better off as the 6.5 has a ele. injector pump and the 6.2 has a mechanical pump. Then if you get a 6.2 get a Banks turbo system, 4" ext. system, and turn the pump up 3/4 turn. The fuel milage will go from 22mpg to 11mpg but she will pull and be quick off the line 8) As trans go you do not have much of a choice behind the 6.2 / 6.5. The 4L80E is the only auto the will bolt up to the 6.2/6.5 and take the tork. And they are hard to find and go for high$$$. The 5sp NV4500 that GM put in it was crap but you can get a trans out of a 90's Dodge Ram with a Cummins and I can hook you up with a place that has a kit to fit it up to the 6.2/6.5. Charles
  19. Great find in just the lift parts. Charles

    Truck Caps

I am looking for a truck cap for my Ranger, I see a lot of S-10 caps 94-04 in my area and was wondering if it would fit a 93 Ranger , ie the back of the cap to the cab of the truck. I know some like the cap for my short bed 00 F-150 would only fit it as the back of the cab had more slant then the other F-150's. Charles
  21. For the amount of hard wheeling we will be doing this is just right for the price. Charles
  22. Looking at 3 opts. right now. 1. Cut the rust out of the sides and have LARGE wheel openings  2. Find another box. 3. Build a flat bed. Charles
  23. Checked and both sides came out at 10 deg.s  Charles
  24. Search this part# C10085 Charles
  25. I have been looking at this Champion at PartsAmerica, 10,000 for $299. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDeta ... yCode=4011 Fits my budget  Charles
