Help me figure out what this wire is to.
Zebvance replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I didn't say anything about miles or kilometers. If your odometer hasn't been recalibrated, you can't calculate your fuel economy because the distance your odometer says you drove since the last fill-up probably isn't correct. Yea I get that. That's why I said I track speed and Mileage by gps... -

Help me figure out what this wire is to.

The truck runs fine. Beside having a very strong exhaust smell all the time and I get crap gas millage. Just happened to look of symptoms of a bad knock sensor and found this. Not saying that it is bad, but to me it looks like a ground ground wire without insulation. So if it's not grounded properly it may not be functioning right. Idk all this is just a though. -
So I ended up ripping my block heater wire out wheeling. I was looking for where it plugs into the block to make a assessment of the damage and couldn't find where the connection it. But while I was under the jeep I found this. Looks just like a grounding wire because it has no insulation on it. But where is it suppose to go. Also looks like it is coming out of the wireing for the plug above it. Which I am guessing is the oil pressure sensor??? Some help would be great guys. Thanks in advance. In this picture you can see it to the right hanging out of that harness.

Well I received the Offroad CPU from Camerontech today. Super cool! I have been playing with it for the past hour. Kinda wishing I didn't get the read one now though. Not as bright as I was hoping but then again I haven't seen it at night yet. I hope to install is soon.

Rough Country Long Arm Install
Zebvance replied to joester1908's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I looked and couldn't find one around me at the time and was impatient to start building a new front axle since I bent the one that is currently under it. Next thing I knew I was $2500+ into this one. so there is no going back now... -

I am looking for a LED to replace the bulb light in my rear bumper. I welded up boxes in the bumper to fix the lights I have now. Do they have some leds that will fit in a 4.5" x 2" hole?

master cylinder/ brake booster upgrade
Zebvance replied to dj5's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
After looking up part numbers I found this 95xj and 95zj have same MC But for the Brake booster- Brand Part# Year Vehicle Cardone 5473151 1995 Grand Cherokee (zj) Cardone 5473152 1995 Cherokee (xj) So different by 1 number. Wonder what makes it different..... Also looked up WJ and it had different part numbers on both... I was also wrong, the zj brake booster and Mc I have is out of a 95 zj. I know it will be a lot better braking performance from my 88 mj but the question is will the BB fit as far as mounting holes and clearance. I'm less worried about those 2 things though and more worried bout if the part that attaches to the brake pedal will fit. Wonder if I should just buy a new WJ set up for better piece of mind before I go ripping into it. I know I'm really going to need to do this upgrade once my 35's get put on. While I was at the junk yard for the Prop valve I got I also got some of those flexable lines that crusier is talking about. I knew that they would prob make instillation easier so I just grabbed them. -
I had a bad front driveshaft u joint that caused the same symptoms. Roll down your window and drive up against the wall of a building. The noise with bounce off the wall and become louder and more apparent. Might help to narrow down what it is....

Took the first real job I got offered out of college so I could afford to pay off my student loans..... I am a Product Design Engineer and Safety Coordinator for All Seasons Windows - Commercial division in Bryan, Texas. I also own Vance Custom Woodworking, a business I started 2 years ago to help me financially get through college. It has really taken off and am currently looking for land to build 30x40 metal building to run the business out of.

master cylinder/ brake booster upgrade
Zebvance replied to dj5's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I put in my 8.8 with disks I swapped the proportion valve for one out of a 96 Cherokee and got rid of my already non functioning load sensing valve and I noticed a difference. My buddy is putting coil overs on his 97 ZJ and had to pull his master cylinder and brake booster to replace with a smaller one to clear the coil over hoops. He gave me his old booster and MC does anybody have experience in using a zj one? I can tell is dual diaphragm by the size of it. will it bolt right up? -
I don't want to change my gauge cluster face because it is a Canadian model....
-
my plan is to put a gauge/switch panel there and try to incorporate it in it if there is enough room.
