I Didn't Realize A Clean Comanche Was So Hard To Find!
88whitemanche replied to Pascal's topic in The Pub
Wow that bad huh? It's looked a lot better in pics. well there isn't much to look at in the pics but I bet in person it's different. I've seen more Comanches around in the allapattah area in miami but they are not going for sale...a lot of guys use them as work trucks or just sit in the yards that they don't want to sell. -

Troubleshooting A Transfer Case?
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The symptom of a stretched chain is a loud bang in 4wd, as if hitting the bottom of the Jeep tub with a hammer, when the chain skips on the sprockets. That loud bang? does it follow up with an impact? Mine does the loud bang and follows up with an impact that makes you feel that someone hit you from behind. I swear I was telling my dad to come with me to see if he felt it because he's deaf so he can't hear. So the next day I took him to the hospital and when leaving it grind and follow up with an impact that my dad looked back so fast and was ready to scream at the person who hit us and realized there wasn't anyone behind us that either the transmission or transfer case was doing it. -
Have you seen my Mj? Last seen in MidAtlantic...
88whitemanche replied to Bonkers's topic in The Pub
I heard about that from someone in school who owned one...my boy has a tj and he's always telling me to look into the yj because of the leaf spring suspension but I think ill go with the coil spring set up and get a tj instead -

What was wrong with the yj? Or the reason you'll never get a yj again? -
Troubleshooting A Transfer Case?
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok ill try that hopefully tomorrow....but I just changed my clutch and slave cylinder less than 3 months ago with the mechanic but it wasn't making that sound before he replaced the clutch and salve cylinder... I went back to him and told him about it he told me to leave the truck for a few days to see if he hears or notices anything. Two days later I get a call and he says he didn't hear or feel anything. I picked up the truck and five minutes later it started again. I went back to him and he heard it coming in but you can tell he didn't want to work on the truck anymore. So I said forget it and ill deal with driving it myself. So as time passed it'll pop up every other day or none at all. It wasn't until yesterday where it's grind going into third fourth and fifth gear....but the noises I heard and research on you tube and read other forums on the noises sounds like the transfer case....I checked fluid and its filled to the top I think the chain may have expanded or something. That its hitting the case it self -
Saw this on google earlier

Troubleshooting A Transfer Case?
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
All suspension parts have been changed except axle shaft u joints I'm waiting for a weekend to do that project...first time going to do it Blue88....my transfer case lever shows 2wd but everyday I get in the truck I make sure to look down to make sure it's in 2wd because I drive mainly highway.... How can I go to check if its not in 4h? I don't notice any differences in turning but what I do notice that when I'm on a hill when I press the clutch in its sapose to roll down right? Mine doesn't -
Troubleshooting A Transfer Case?

231....but this the first time it's ever done that goin into gears and in gear....it's mainly have done it coasting in neutral and coasting in neutral while making a turn.... -
What's up guys How do you guys troubleshoot one? I'm having problems and think its my transfer case. I'm having a huge impact every time I'm in neutral rolling into a turn...I already locked my cad and think my t-case might be going out....I'm going to check fluids today but is there anything else that I should check out? Also today on the highway from third to fifth gear it was giving me a real bad grinding noise. I pulled over to the side of the road and a huge impact like if its being thrown into gear and I drive after that with no problems. Let alone I'm getting horrible gas mileage lately and I just did an full tune up last week to the truck.

No wonder!!! I would think how the heck would mud sling onto my instrument panel....I always knew it was the tires but it must've came from an angle because it would literally hit by my digital clock... -

Yeah I figured! Since I've gotten the turbine rims the back spacing totally diminishes the tire size on my truck....I miss the stout look but can't complain because it gives that old school look to the truck... -
An Oil Filter Is An Oil Filter Right?????
88whitemanche replied to JENSSEN's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Of course! Thanks for this site I decided to never use fram and ask if there were other brands that were brought with the sale to ask who makes the brand and what materials are used inside..... I mean the guys at the auto parts have to know right? -
A buddy of mine sent me this pic today and wondered why does a Toyota have turbine rims? Maybe the guys wishes he had a jeep comanche who knows

An Oil Filter Is An Oil Filter Right?????
88whitemanche replied to JENSSEN's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You know the other day when I went to buy my oil and filter from advance auto parts.always have great sales on oil. I got the regular oil but it had a fram filter to go with it...I asked the guy if he can get me another filter and he says that I could upgrade filters for a 1$ extra for the high mileage one.or 2$ for the synthetic filter which was a purolater platinum filter. -

88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Comanchemodder your a/c and alternator is different from mine...mine is actually reversed alternator is on the bottom of the a/c compressor and doesn't have the pulley like yours do -
Sounds like a plan....I will be doing that so I don't mess anything up on my truck but one that's already in the junkyard
-
Hey guys Sorry to bother with so many questions. Can any help me with pics of the serpentine belt diagram on the 2.5.. Another question...I want to eliminate the a/c portion of the engine bay but I notice I don't have the tensioner. Is it a quick swap?
-
Well guys I checked the fuse panel in the interior side there was one screw with a Phillips head drive and on the engine bay there there is a I think it's 8 mm socket size bolt head I haven't taken it apart since it is my dd and I can't work on anything because I don't have a back up...I will try this weekend to see if I can work my way to taking those pcs apart and hopefully fixing the leaking problem
