  2. Finally got around to counting the ring and pinion because there was anything stamped on the ring itself determining if it was 4.10s or not...but ring counted 41 teeth and pinion was 10 teeth...so it's 4.10s for sure.... So found a jeep shop that installs gears for a reasonable price so I'll be hopefully ordering front and rear gears by the end of this month....
  3. I agree!!! ^^^^ So I'll chip in on the white...

  6. This would be a better option but it's a very expensive option let alone paying someone to get the track bar mount welded on the axle...(if the op isn't a welder)...
  7. Usa standard it is!!!! Lol And where do you get those non suitable gears?
  8. Most guys here on this forum with ax15s say gear oil with GL5 is to harsh for the synchros because they are made of brass.... Most guys use 10w-30 oil for years with no problems.... This will help with some Insight http://comancheclub.com/topic/44825-ax15-lubricant/?fromsearch=1
  9. I've checked their website a few weeks ago for the amc 20 and they have no ring and pinion options But I will call him up to see if he has any that's not posted in the website Edit: I just saw some Yukon gears...
  10. So I got a question for all the gear heads.... What brand gears should I get for the 4.88 gear swap? And does cj ring and pinion fit this axle??? Any info/advice helps a lot since I'm going to hopefully buy at the end of the year the parts nessacery for regear... http://m.summitracing.com/search/part-type/ring-and-pinion-gears/axle-model/amc-model-20/ring-and-pinion-ratio/4-88-1 http://www.jeep4x4center.com/precision-gear-amc-20-4-88-all-amc488.html http://www.ox-usa.com/amc-20/286-ring-pinion-411.html
  11. do you have this link/ guide for the rebuilt trans? And wouldn't it be best to start good already with just regular 10w-30 oil in the ax15?
  12. Left side rear tail light.... Becareful because it's also the ground for the fuel pump...
  13. After looking at the fluid... May have been some synchromesh fluid because it looks gold/brass type color.... Or bearings?
  14. Thanks man I appreciate it...I'll for sure be in contact with you soon.... Well finally opened up the diff cover...
  15. It doesn't have the limited slip....if it had the double c it would've been considered limited slip... But it only has the 1-c stamped on the axle
  16. Second one from the left at the top is my national guard unit patch. Nice! When me and a buddy of mine went to make custom jackets with these patches we picked out the coolest ones... There were more but the bill kept going up and we were high school kids with no money....
  17. The rear window was in outstanding shape...The rear bumper was to BUT the brackets were welded to the frame as also to a cut up hitch attached to it....
  18. lol... Well it does have the c stamped on the axle unfortunately it doesn't have the double c... Outlaw met me out there because he wanted the sending unit and noticed when we opened it at the yard that the gear oil had goldish shavings... So it needs to be rebuilt anyways.... So I'll be saving up for gears/rebuild and a Aussie locker.... I'll get more pics of it tomrrow...
