  1. I'm looking to do about 1 1/2 inch lift or so and I figure that is about what v8 zj coils will give me.
  2. Whatever, but I know it wasn't around in '62 :D
  3. I think the first year for the Barracuda was 67?
  4. What are you going to do with the v8 coils now?
  5. If you want to clean up the engine bay, you can relocate the charcoal canister to somewhere else. Even back by the fuel tank, and just run the vapor recover line back up to the engine. Very few vehicle still have the canister in the engine compartment.
  6. I hope to make or adapt some kind of light bar for mine as well. I have a non Comanche roll bar now, but am probably going to yank it due to the fact I have a cap I want to use in the winter, and it takes up too much room in the bed. Toyota had one on some of their trucks a few years back as well. It had lights that went up and down like hidden head lights. You might have better luck at finding one of those.

    great news

The 4.0 is a legendary engine, but I really can't complain about the little 2.5. Of course the 4.56 gears do help a bit :D
  8. Did you check to make sure you are getting good vacuum to the control unit?
  9. Don't plug the line or hole. Filtered air is supposed to enter the VC from that place to help the PCV system pull the blow by gasses in to the manifold. The little generic filters work great. You will actually see less oil with them because at high engine load ( low manifold vacuum) the tube to the air box actually starts to work in the opposite direction pulling blow by in to the air box instead or allowing air in to the VC. This isn't neccessarily bad other than the oily mess you get. One thing to check if you have the older cast VC on your 4.0, the PCV grommet hole leads to a tube like passageway inside the cover. This extends too low and can actually reach liquid oil at higher revs, especially if on an incline. There was a bulletin to drill a 1/2 inch hole part way up the tube (VC off of course). I have seen guys just take some channel locks and break off a small piece of the bottom of the tube so that it doesn't extend quite so far down. Also make sure the little flap thing under the PCV grommet isn't stuck shut with crud.
  10. Hmmmmm, is Bill Gates actually a Comanche owner from Ohio?
  11. Just the two torx. One in the back is a bellhousing bolt? Watch for shims when you pull it.
  12. Can't answer, but I have used Dell tech support and it sucked big time. Hell, everything about Dell sucks big time. I have to use Dell through work due to a DCX contract with them. Just glad when I need to call RR tech and I can understand who I am speaking with.
  13. My latest truck came with a nice JVC cassette player. I was gonna switch it out for a CD, but remembered how much my CD's used to skip in my lifted ZJ. Think I'll just keep the tape player instead.
  14. Roadrunner, the devil in disguse, I work their tier2 tech support up here in canada. if you've called Roadrunner internet tech, you may've talked to me. Do you dislike T-W, or just their broadband svc? I have had RR for several years and have had very few issues. Have also had very good tech support except for one guy who seemed to just be having a bad day. (sorry for the hijack)
  15. The first moden I had from T-W was crap. But the newst one I have has been flawless. Of course I probably just jinxed myself, so if I don't post for a while you'll know why!!
  16. I don't see any reason for not bypassing it. It is a silly design anyhow.

    asking price?

I think it is pretty sharp looking. Try posting it on e-bay. I've seen trucks in the same shape as yours go for a few grand. Hey, ya never know.
  18. If it is an intermittant thing maybe the drive gear is gummed up and not fully engaging the flywheel at times. Shimming shouldn't be an issue unless you have had the starter out recently. At least the starter is easy to pull on our trucks :D
  19. I don't think there ever was a factory CD player for the 96 and older XJ's. But, I have this XPLOD system for sale really cheap..... :D . Sorry , couldn't resist. I hate thieves and think they should all have their hands removed
  20. The scary thing is that he could have sold rubber hose to someone who would have tried to use it!!!
  21. That must be the metal floor option I've heard about.:D
  22. 10 psi is actually acceptable for a hot engine at idle. If you had an idiot light instead of a guage you would never know it. And it may just be the sender and not the actual pressure at all. Would need to hook up a mechanical guage to check if you are really concerned. One of the symptoms that were listed with the crank sensor TSB was rough cold idle and stalling. Was the dealer able to monitor the coolant temp sensor for the ECU? Could be that it is not sending the correct reading causing the mixture to be off when cold. Takes alot more fuel to keep a cold engine running.
  23. So, as long as it is up to full operating temp, it runs OK?
  24. Finally got the rockers today. They look good, other than the fact they are both LEFT SIDE panels. Even have stickers on then saying they are "left side".!! Now I await a response from the seller :headpop:

    help

Just put mine in a couple weeks ago. It will be one of the easiest engine jobs you'll ever do.
