Keep enough dry and canned goods on hand should i need to leave for a lengthy period of time. grab and go tool bag with the basics and then some, basic bug out bag with clothes, sleeping bag, first aid, and a few misc. camping items i personally consider luxury. then grab and go ammo bags, plus a few firearms. Learn to live with nothing, and everything else becomes luxury.

You can hover all you want, but you can't touch. Not like he tried to open it up and take it for a joy ride. I've admired many a mj with the owner not around, and the owners who happen to come back to their truck before i leave have always been more than happy to talk jeep. Never had anyone as hostile as you sound.

Got a good friend who is a gunsmith, went out to the shop he's worked at for the past 19 years or so and was looking at 2 winchesters, but his boss wouldnt come down any on the price (they were at $350) because he knew he could sell them for that because deer season opens up next week. I actually was out getting some birdshot for some trap shooting last night with some coupons for Dicks Sporting Goods that i got in the mail, stopped to look at rifles just out of curiousity, and they just dropped their price on the mossberg 100 atr to 299 so i bought one in .308 win. took it to the range today to see how good the scope was on it, zeroed it, took it out to 75yds and it shot beautifully. Recoil is definatley less than the mosins 7.62x54, and close to 4lbs lighter. If anyones interested and they are on sale near you, I'd definately recommend one.

only in a gun shop will an sks be that much, you can get them for less than 250 from a private seller

I'd be alright with the 870 inside 35 yards, don't trust my placement with slugs outside of that because i don't have a slug barrel, just using rifled slugs. inside 35 i can hit killzone all day, but i don't want to chase one, i'd rather it be quick and done, for the deers sake. Didnt get either, had the option but backed off. May get a winchester .30-30, pretty common rifle for deer around here. Same price as an sks as well. Just gonna hold off on anything till i get a good deal. I'd like a rem. 700 in .308, but thats out of my price range.

Is the 200hp, 300ft/lbs of torque true about the 1.9?
-
Had 1 with someone tryin to kick in b ackdoor, but my dog got ahold of em before I got the shotgun and they took off quick. Got an 870 for home defense, 00buck in the tube and 3 1oz slugs on the side. Beginning to lean towarss the nagant because of cost and a more powerful round. But until I can afford something better nagant or sks are my only options at the moment

Looking for a cheap rifle for deer season, like old russian guns because theyre virtually unstoppable and ammo is cheap old surplus. I've shot a buddies mosin nagant alot, and i like it, but ive been looking at a yugo sks now, and, price difference aside, not sure which i'd rather have. Anyone have a yugo that could give an opinion? I'm leaning towards it because its a smaller carbine and would make a decent home defense gun on the side, whereas the mosin would make a better spear since its about a foot or 2 longer. plus less recoil means it would be no big deal for mom or little brother to shoot. Anyone have a yay or nay on it then?

FINALLY. Someone who understands the logic there. Personally I don't care for either of them. don't see them as fit for political office, but then again I say the same for alot of people and their particular jobs. :dunno:

Shouldn't be too much harder than a sbc i wouldnt think. But a newer post has me interested in the vw 1.9 :brows:

Yep, its a ranch hand. I can get most of the material for free from the drop bins at work, so I'm definately going to try. Only thing I'm not sure of is their hitch location. I think it just looks tacky on top

So, my mj is just about road worthy, just need a rear bumper now, because A, its illegal here not to have one, and B, knowing my luck, i'd get hit because i don't have one. So I'm looking for ideas, got some in my head, but want to see what others have done. Currently, looking at trying to do something similar to this, only for the mj not a dodge. Cousin wants one for his dodge and I'm liking the design.

I'd use that broken tail light as a bargaining point, myself..

I wanted a mercedes diesel too, but their rarity turned me away. 318 swap seems better for now...hopefully a mercedes comes my way...or a 4bt and the money to make it fit! Now the vw 1.9 seems worth looking into...wonder what the swap would take in an mj....

How do you test the starter relay?
-
Yes to the above, and it will start if we jump the solenoid, but will not start with the key, so imbtrying to diagnose why the key will not work. This is the first vehicle I've had to do more work than basic maintenance, so everything I know has come from this forum and my chilton manual.

Look around facebook, theres usually a few groups for different cities and surrounding areas like craigslist. And when i was trying to buy one, i checked craigslist a couple times a day, like 5 or 6 times, so if anything popped up i'd be first to call!

When I tun the key on I get interior and dash lights, when I turn to ignition, nothing happens, with or without the clutch depressed
-
86, 2.8/ax5. Might have just wired something wrong then, but I don't think so
-
For some reason, my truck won't start with the ignition. It did before my engine swap, now it will not work. I'm guessing the sensor that prevents you from starting it without engaging the clutch is the problem, but don't know where it is, what would be wrong, and what to do about it. Suggestions?

Extremely Rusted Floor, Suggestions Please!
mpace6a replied to darkenfire's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Man, If mine looked that good i could sell it as new off the line. I could fit my size 12 boot through the floor on either side of the frame rail, front and back, drivers and passengers. the frame and support rails were all the held it together. I'd say those are an easy fix.- 41 replies
