  1. Do you have an aftermarket header/exhaust manifold? Is the flange on the exhaust thicker than that of the intake????? Take a close look at it.
  2. Find one out of a 98 Wrangler or a 98 XJ
  3. You're giving the impression that I don't know what I'm talking about. I have a 98 distributor in my 88.
  4. The problem is there is nothing else in the mid-sized truck market that I trust to pull the weight I pull. Full-sized, which I do not want, start at around $47K. And no, sorry, and I'll offend everyone of you, Jeep is a POS. My mother has the new Cherokee, Jeep just replaced the PTU, power transfer unit, what we know as the TC, Jeep had it two weeks and cost over $5K. And jeep has never been known for it's pulling capability. My brother owns a new Colorado Z71, nice truck but after looking at it, no confidence it would last pulling 4K on these mountain roads. And even at that, those are reaching $40K and beyond. Ford is reintroducing Ranger here in the states, turbo inline 4...........no thanks. Dodge? would never even consider another Chrysler product. Toyota? way over priced and I don't see any of those pulling anything. Nissan is a workhorse, excellent for towing. And it rides like a car, not a truck.
  5. I posted this on Nissan's Facebook page, I'd really like to get a response from them.
  6. I assume you have TBI? If so, my statement stands, any year distributor. Search for a 98 Wrangler with 2.5, you'll need the cap and rotor also as they are different.
  7. Yes, you'll have to pull the cluster, type of bulb will become obvious to you. I just threw away about twenty of them otherwise I'd have sent them to you.
  8. Any year 2.5 dist will work. Newer models will have a wire coming out of the base, cut the wire off and install.
  9. Of course this requires a response- Any given time of any given day there is an average of 50 viewers at CC. Of those 50 there are about 6 participants who actually participate in answering questions, those who actually have something to contribute, I could name them but then you'd accuse me of excluding someone. Those are the facts. Just so you know- I can point to a forum I belong to with about 70,000 registered users, any given time there are about 15-20,000 logged in, of those logged in there are about 30-50 contributors. Statistically, CC is on par with larger forums, the numbers are smaller, content moves slower. For those of us at CC, the content gets read and scrutinized, it's not as though the Tech page gets run out every 3-4 hours, here, maybe every 3-4 days. CC is a niche forum with very limited subject matter who's members have a very narrow POV on that subject matter. Do you read? Do you study? Do you contact manufactures to inquire about their products? In your other thread, you asked at least three times about grades of chrome, the answer is- of course not. American Racing does not offer the same steel chromed wheel in grade A, B, or C. I wouldn't and I don't know anyone personally who has bought a chrome steel wheel in the last decade, don't know why you would either since your concern is rust. I answered your question, the grade of chrome is relevant to the grade of wheel. You want a high grade of chrome that will last? buy a high grade wheel from a manufacture who stands behind their products, a forged chrome wheel from Fuel will run you about $400++ each. Apparently you don't like my answer or you just don't want to hear it. Do your homework, present your findings, then you'll have something to offer. No, I don't believe that too many readers enjoy open-ended go-nowhere do-nothing threads.
  10. Give me a week or so and I'll do a vid explaining what I did, how I did it, and why.
  11. Sorry I didn't answer you. It's one of those things that is self-evident, something you just do, I don't think one could explain how to do it.
  12. No, not at all. I can count on one hand the guys here who have interesting trucks, guys who are doers not BSers. Kelly, Kabowabo, KansasHogan, Gjeep, and maybe a few others. Each time I come here I hope to see or read something interesting, challenging...........very very rarely. Do something, photograph it, video it, discuss it.............DO SOMETHING!
  13. Well, there's BS and then there is pointless BS. I'll file this under pointless BS. Goes nowhere and means nothing.
  14. I have no idea how I got brought into this? That said- Here's what happens- Cheap mindless souls buy $69 Soft 8s with 3.5" backspacing because they are the cheapest wheel. And then throw on the cheapest set of 31s. Drives like $#!&, looks like $#!&. And then they say, that's all there is. This gets repeated ad nauseam until it becomes a false truth that is accepted by more mindless souls. So, here we are, a world of mindlessness. When the reality is, the world is your onion. All kinds of wheels, all kinds of sizes, all kinds of backspacing..............all for you, right here- https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/wheels?N=4294920835%2B4294947558&SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending Plenty with 5" backspacing, assuming you are looking for something like a 285/60/16 with 10" of tread width, the inside center section/tread section will land at about the same place as it would with a stock wheel/tire as it relates to frame/LCA/steering components. People are lazy, people are cheap, people are not creative nor imaginative....for the most part. Chrome? Buy a high end wheel and don't worry about it. Ceramic pads, semi-metallic pads eat chrome.........so does laziness.
  15. I assumed that most of you guys here are 'car/truck' guys and that you'd keep up with others are doing, guess not.
  16. Don't feel bad, both of my towers went down on the same day about a week ago. One has been replaced and the other is awaiting parts because I cannot afford to replace it.
  17. https://chicago.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=comanche&sort=rel I don't know how it is you guys can't get the links correct.
  18. I've driven many Jeeps and I've never seen one of these panels work. Junk. But my junk is officially gone.
  19. OK. Plan on getting it running and driving first. I assume you are asking for wisdom from those of us who have done this? Running and driving............then decide where and how to blow through your lift cash. Know what you've got to work with first.
  20. Get it running and driving first.
