  1. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp ... ASAMS_____ Rockauto has them cheaper. Just an example.......plug in your year and model.......round $100 locally. Advanced Auto.........P20 is 20% off and over $75 is free shipping to your door. As I said round about $80
  2. Dude you can get a cheap one for like $40 or a Moog for about $70-80 IIRC. This is not even worth the conversation........just do it.
  3. No Marty it's not the sway bar. Poke around a bit more and you'll figure it out, somewhere here is a schematic of the suspension and steering. Like the other guy said, fix it soon.
  4. Yeah I think there is supposed to be some play in it. The few AX5s I had here had the same play.
  5. Plug ends are available at most auto stores. Or you can cut a couple of pig-tails from the JY. Don't crimp or wire nut or tape.............SOLDER! your connections. The harness we talk about here is at the rad support only, not under the dash.
  6. Clean your grounds.
  7. Thanks. I never really paid attention. Change the latch or the strike?
  8. So what's the deal with the strike on 97+ doors?
  9. When I swapped my 2x for 4x I compared the two axles and nothing really looked similar. I know the calipers would not have swapped, not sure of the knuckles. You could just use a D30 as a dummy and pull the axles.
  10. Check your steering knuckles, I'll bet you will find indentions where your brake pads rest. The pad will embed itself over time, once the indention is make the pad will not reset or relax and will rub the rotor causing that swoooshing sound.
  11. No one told me that before I bought a chrome grill and bezels from a 91 for my 88. They can be adapted and no one will ever know the difference.
  12. AW4s came behind them too didn't they?
  13. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.......you got what? $5K worth of engine for $1K with harness and computer I assume? And you have what to decide? really? Even with your concerns and disappointments I'd have no problem with an AX5 behind it, but then I don't tear things up.
  14. What did you replace yours with? It's usually a matter of quality. Not cheap, Rockauto lists at $102 for SKF.

  16. That's really what I wanted to know........was there any head changes between the years?
  17. Well of coarse.
  18. Anyone have any experience with Banks? Worth the money? Any reason the Wrangler will not fit the MJ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Banks-Exhaust-M ... 3d&vxp=mtr
  19. You could drop a grand I guess......money gets you want you want. http://www.spohn.net/shop/Rear-End-Driv ... QgodeWnABQ
  20. Has anyone here had a rear axle made up? Yeah I'd like the keep the bolt pattern...........just want to gain a couple inches in width.
  21. The Lincoln is 58.5"
  22. I have been all over the net looking for a WMS to WMS chart and one doesn't seem to exist apparently. Piece meal at best. XJ/MJ WXS is 60.5 as best I can tell and I'd really like to find one at about 62" for a rear swap. I'll see what I can come up with on the Lincoln rear.
  23. There might be enough slack in the line......? try it. I don't know what firewall mods there is? can't imagine that. Worst case is you shell out the $160 for the complete kit.
  24. The price quote was $2233 before installation and taxes. The description is "new", not reman. Your original post states 'reman'. I don't' pay taxes........here in E TN with a 10% sales tax rate your quote would ring up something like $250. Screw'm. I also do for myself, I don't pay others for what I can do on my own. I picked up a 'known' good AX5 for $200 in Atlanta to replace mine when I get around to it. "Gear Works" IIRC is the name of the rebuilder also in Atlanta that advertizes $640 swap or a two day drop and they state that yours will likely cost less to rebuild.......so I will at some point in the future. I understand apples to oranges.........rebuilt AX15 is $750 IIRC........ But I'll be dammed to pay $2700. I don't know anything about the BA10.....don't care to either......not the point. There is opportunity out there if you are willing to do a little work and extend a little effort.
