  1. And am I so out of touch or ? $2700 for a rebuilt trans? Does it come with a date and a kiss?
  2. Why on earth would you even consider dragging home someone else's crap? MD to AZ???????????? Look around and you will drive one home for $1000.
  3. I was somewhat teasing you before but I'm not now. What you need is a dead 94+ XJ. You'll have a no-CAD axle and external slave and linkages....etc... You will eventually find one for $500 and after you rape it and scrap it the swap is a wash, IOWs will cost you near nothing. With exception of new parts of choice of coarse. Otherwise you are wasting your time. As for the 85 2.5? I'm always looking for an older 2.5, I wasn't teasing about that. The auto in your truck? dog, and you'll regret it.
  4. Fuel filter, fuel pump, or oil saturated air filter would be at the top of my guess list.
  5. Ex FL boy here and I'm just down the road from ya now, other side of Knoxville. I have no idea what your problem his however it ain't the elevation so you can rule that out. I've had mine all over the SE and elevation has play no role in the way it runs. 40ft or 4000ft makes no difference.
  6. http://charlottesville.craigslist.org/c ... 57019.html OK, $3K.
  7. Never mind the above question.......... Here's what you do- Since I'm just down the road from ya you sell me your XJ for $500. Sell your MJ for $1800. You dig in your pocket for $200. Now you got $2500 to buy yourself an already 4x4 MJ, you can git yerself a nice one too. I have no trouble driving sticks or problematics. :)
  8. What's the condition of your MJ?
  9. Seller was asking $1200 originally IIRC. His first listings were threats....LOL......"If you don't buy this now I'll rebuild it myself and get $4000 for it!" LMFAO
  10. That one have been listed for about 8 months that I know of. Guy is a jerk anyway. It's your $700.......but I haven't bothered.
  11. I'm not too far from ya............how much you want for it?
  12. Don't know why you have to keep readjusting it? Maybe you have another problem.
  13. Thanks guys. Yeah I didn't think they'd come off easily. Mine are black, I might just paint them in with the body. On the read.........use cars and trucks are soon to become a premium........might what to consider that when chopping up perfectly good trucks as trail-----.
  14. Anyone know how to remove without damaging it? For paint. Below is posted FYI- http://www.infowars.com/mandatory-big-b ... from-2015/
  15. I prefer Denso brand, found at NAPA. And a few bucks cheaper than others.

  17. I personally had two no-flow Frams. One on my Ranger and one on a tractor I had. NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!again. I have about 20K on my 2.5 and I still run Lucas and Havoline 40w. Runs damn good too. So no the Lucas was not a little 'rich' for your 2.5 ............it was something else.
  18. One had a bumper.....serviceable.
  19. I spent a few hours at the Knoxville TN Pick-n-Pull. Got a few odds and ends. If you guys are desperate for solid short beds they have two there. Rust free. One has a tail gate and bed liner. One has a dent at the lower portion near the bumper but very repairable..............again no rust or rot or major damage. Also solid cabs and fenders....Both 2W
  20. That's funny, mine did the same thing until I had to take it out to replace the speedo cable. So I say take it out..........fiddle with it a minute......put it back in.........lol
  21. There is a release button on the main body of the switch.......push the button and pull the plunger/rod/pull/knob of the switch all the way out of the switch itself. Now there is a large nut where the knob was and you can unscrew the nut.....the whole thing will come out.
  22. Anyone do any 97XJ+ mirrors?
  23. Cruiser will be around with his electrical refresh instructions. Sound like your fuse box has had it with the brake master leak. Grounds and cables and connections and sensors are important here. Cruiser's write-ups are here. http://jeepseekers.com/cruisers_writeups_65.html
  24. Be afraid of what? Ain't skeerd of nothin.
