Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Not sure which way these go and the valve cover has been takin' of by P/O and i wanna make sure they are installed correctly. I figure they both mount in the open or first pic position due to the "constant crankcase venting" just looking for a little expertise. This is for the flapper under the fluted tubes on the inside of the valve cover Flapper up or down? same for front and rear? thanks guys!
  2. I have a very good running comanche but I also have a spare Ho motor laying around and have parted many cherokees out so I have all HO parts at my disposale. My renix lower end was just rebuilt but the head was not gone through and is due. With that being said i would like to use the ho head, header,TB and 99 manifold on my RENIX BLOCK is this possible? other questions I have are.. I know I also need to adress the fuel lines and swap all sensors to the 99+ intake and figure out how to get my fuel gauge working right, any other possible snags? can the renix injectors and fuel rail be retained or do you have to switch too a ho fuel rail? being a higher fuel pressure and different return seems like alot of hassle when using the TPS adapter do you still set it to the same Renix specs? Thank you for the help in adavance and if there is any other kind of guidance you can give me it would be greatley appreciated
  3. I actually used a willwood prop valve and elimninted the sensing valve.Good news.I swapped calipers around and I have brakes like a beast now, lesson learned! Thanks for the help guys!
  4. The front axle is out of a 99 cherokee. The calipers are also. The bleeder is right below where the steel braided line connects.
  5. Where to start, I'm having this brake problem thats been a major issue now with my 89 comanche upon upgrading to a willwood prop valve and 96 booster/master Run down- new NOS chrysler 95-96 booster and master -Willwood prop valve -96 pedal assy and brake switch -new hard line goin back to rear (eliminated height sensing valve) -calipers where rebuilt with new seal and dust seal also new boots and slide pins -rear drums were adjusted to just lightly drag -new extended braided lines The Problem- The brake pedal builds pressure after several pumps then loses it by the time I return the pedal for a second pump,I hear a slight hissing noise then a couple light popping noise from around master cylinder. There are no fluid leaks. I have had (2) orielly's masters on here and a oreilly's booster that did the same thing, this is why i went with a oem NOS unit.I believe the problem lies elsewhere then the master because of this reason. Master cylinder was bench bled and brake system was bled with a motive power bleeder. All flares where made with a eastwood flaring tool so they are very good, double flares everywhere besides the two at the master are bubble flared. When the vehicle is running the pedal gets even softer and builds no pressure (booster is working properly) but fluid lowers to the "add" when pumping brakes then returns to the "full" slowly if brake pumping is stopped. I have weeks into trying to figure this out, give me your best shot with this basket case! Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey guys,I'm about to do a leaf over on my 88. what pinion angle would be desired? sorry for the double post, posted on my phone.
  7. Awesome, I'm gonna go that route. Cheaper then i thought.
  8. Hey guys, Been awhile since i been on here! I picked up a beautiful 1989 4x4 short box ax/15 dana 44 poineer with barely any rust after many years of searching one popped up in my area from the south. Anyways, the injectors leak and i know this is a big fire hazard, i would like to replace them with new and i'm looking for the best flowing ones. I do not want to have to splice to the new style plug though. which year should i order them for in order to do this?
  9. That's what i thought.. but in the info it mentions it not being adjustable
  10. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... &ppt=C0024 This is a non adjustable tps, sounds like a dream to me after battling high and low idle and re-adjustment of mine for the last year. Anybody else every try one of these? If so i would appreciate your input.
  11. so if the harness is 100% swapped and nothing is plugged into the front sensor on the 99 trans it will still function properly? Sorry just not completely understanding.
  12. I'm to the trans swap in my ho build and hit a issue. I have a 99 aw4 out of my cherokee i would like to install in my comanche, the engine and T-case is also out of the 99 running 92 obd 1 wiring. The problem i have is with the 99 trans having the extra front sensor. If i was to swap the wiring harness and sensor's from the 92 aw4 trans to my 99 aw4 and just not plug anything into the front sensor, will the trans operate correctly? i appologize for for the long winded question. Thanks in advance for the help!
  13. Thanks for the reply's. Fuel pressure is the same from renix to ho?
  14. Hey guys, I'm to the point of hooking up fuel to my ho conversion but can't find much info on it. What seems to be the best way to go about doing this. I would like to keep my stock tank if possible because i have a skid for it and it's in very good shape. Help will be greatly appreciated
