Anyone got a 91-95 2.5 PS bracket or pic?
Jeep Driver replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks, if you go that way and you want to stop anyway......LMK........thanks again. Where the fuel rail is now.......using the mounts on the intake.......I plan on making up a steel pipe heater line and route what is now the line that heats the 88 intake. I also need to make up a fitting for the ECU temp sensor at the end of it where it will connect to the heater hose that runs to the valve. The late 2.5...as with the 4.0... has the heater line running on the distributor side of the engine and the ECU temp sender is on the stat housing, my Efan switch is in the stat housing and I want to leave it there. -

Thank you but I won't ask anyone to go out of their way. I'm planning ahead. I need to order the 91-95 intake and I want to make certain that the PS pump is also the belt tensioner. The late model intake has the PS pump fixed and uses an idler pulley as a tensioner. My main concern is that the pulley lines up with the balance of the 88 accessories. I'm really looking for info more than anything, that said, if anyone has one I'll be happy to buy it. I need to get the 91-95 intake and plug/braze the injector holes as this will be used with TBI. -

i don't know how to test the oil pressure and i believe it was 150,000 somethin miles and i believe all the lifters are pumpin oil, there is no dry spot on any lifters, Redwolf I'm suggesting that your lifters may not be able to maintain an adjustment hydraulically any longer. 150K for 2.8 may be near it's life's end. -

How's your oil pressure? How many miles on the 2.8? How have you determined that the lifters have not collapsed or are pumping up? -

OK. Apparently it's not working. -
Standards in XJs are not common........1 out of 100 maybe for the 4.0 What state and large city are you near?
-
That is not the case. Harness, ECU, fuel pump, ICM..........rad support and radiator......exhaust.......drive shaft.........and probably something else I can't think of at the moment. In short you are going from Renix TBI to Chrysler MPI.......ain't nothin' the same.

help! stuck on side of road.

I learned my lessons the hard way. I don't think most of you guys pay enough attention to your sensors. Could be as simple as an O2 gone bad. You symptoms sound similar to mine last week...........O2. -

Not according to the Comanche FSM. It's nothing more than a POS version of a SBC.......adjust while running. -

Use a peice of cardboard to keep oil from running out of head onto exhaust With engine running loosen nut until valve clacks, tighten nut until valve quiets, turn nut 1/4 turn. Repeat -
Foolish move if the OP believes he's going to pre-build the frame and pull it to the bed and set it down and bolt it up. Put it on a trailer and drag the thing home. An hour away is nothing, that's a daily drive for me.

Your rad came with some sort of barbed fittings? Yes? Cut the ends off your lines and connect to rad with hoses. -
Bet these would make a great addition to any MJ

only one O2. Read codes on Sunday. TPS code, replaced with new one. Trans module error, I assume this was caused by TPS. O2 code, bank 1, upstream. I ditched the Cat on Saturday and welded a bung for the downstream O2, downstream was out of the Jeep while new muffler and pipe was welded. Downstream was also still clean and somewhat shiny, PO must have replaced before we got it. I supposed the welding could have done in the upstream O2. I did not immediately replace the O2 on Sunday because I could not believe it was the cause. Symptoms was that of loss of fuel pressure. Last night I read and read and read......dozens of threads.......all folks with the same symptoms. No real conclusions but O2 seemed to be a common denominator.
