My gratitude is extended to all have spent laborious nights and days to bring us this wondrous update and all the improvements that it entails, especially the mobile site!
For my 89 the 96 xj rod was the same length, no spacers needed though the was an insulative foam piece that did not mess with the length. I did have to move the bottle forward a couple inches but it does not incumber use of the stock air box. The brake pedal does sit a bit higher than before but that is mainly due to the increased pressure, when I bled the lines it went all the way to the floor. Fyi you will have to make a couple brake lines but its soooo worth it.
Went ahead and winged it, turns out for the 96 setup you must drill out the hole and flatten the edge, no spacers needed.
Either way the stopping power is at least 4 times better, i swear i can stop on a dime now.
Hey all,
I have grabbed the brake booster and master from a 96 xj and before I take the same parts out of my truck and render it undrivable I wanted to make sure I have my facts straight.
I have read a few guides to this including this one http://www.jpmagazin...ystem_upgrades/
and the one here on the forums but neither specifically says what to do with the 96 rod.
So does it need to be ground or no?
Does it need a spacer or no?
I have rear-ended someone before due to the S**tty breaks so if you guys could drop me a few hints that'd be swell.
Thanks all,

PS. Now that I have posted something I think this new forum style is growing on me
Just read thru whole thing and went to go to next page only to see I was at the end :(
Great work man if my truck was half as clean as yours....well that'd be tops, just tops.
Hey where did you get those switches you used to reverse the polarity on ur windows?
-mine are a locking kind and those are much cleaner, want.
:hijack:
I'm contemplating the same conversion in the future, same year and auto 4.0l, go figure.
So seeing this being said:
Does it matter about having a mechanical speedo cable for this year?
Did work today...
Replaced the MAP sensor...actually made my issue more frequent.
Had to drive a bit to find a auto parts store with the o2 sensor in stock but went and grabbed that and thru it on.
NOTE TO SELF: even though its about to rain be sure to let the jeep cool down before replacing the o2 sensor...it will be f***ing hot.
Haven't driven it much since replacing the o2 sensor but so far so good.
