  1. Depends what year chyrsler axle it has. Early ones were weak like the D35.
  2. Or 4-link it and coils. Like, it's already broken, so why not make it better?
  3. I had zero(ish) wrap with a SOA with stock packs plus an extra main leaf. That was without spring clamps too. Oh, and a 4.0. Blocks will quickly cause wrap issues though.
  4. The stock ZJ coils should give me about an inch of lift. It's hard to say. The V8/I6 ones are different, and I honestly don't remember which these are. Pat, looks like a deal. I'd just part it out though; I'm not into riding somebody else's girl.
  5. Shipping would be a LOT. So, no thanks. I've got stock 'manche coils, and ZJ coils sitting in my garage. Along with god knows what else. Almost everything on the to-do list I have lying around.
  6. I doubt these coils are stock, as at ride height the variable part of them is fully compressed. And the front is a hell of a lot lower than the back. The back isn't stock though, so who knows. I could ask the XJ yuppies at jeepforum or naxja, but I couldn't care less. I've got ZJ coils, so they'll go it.
  7. Yeah, I'll be using stock isolators as my poor-boy spacers.
  8. Just set it as always logged in...
  9. Finially, some somewhat reliable transportation. Maybe. The idea is I don't wheel this one (thus the name "DD") and actually don't @#$% with it. Reality is that won't happen. Image Not Found Anyways, 1989, 4.0, AW4, NP242, A/C, and blah blah blah... Factory tow hooks and a rear hitch to drag me out. D35 rear! And coils spirngs out of a car of some sort in the front? They're variable rate. Definatly not stock. The rear leafs seem to have been rebuilt/rearched. It has quite the rake when it's on level ground. Plans: (when I actually have time) -Clean the @#$%ing interior. -ZJ coils up front, and a couple isolators to make it level. -Trim, kill the running boards. -Try to find some 31 A/Ts or such. -Swing out tire carrier, or roof rack carrier. -Roof rack -If the rear explodes, put my disk brake 8.8 in and regear the front. Perhaps add truetrac to the front. Oh, and fix the @#$%ing Comanche so I can do real wheeling.

    yo ho ho!

I didn't notice the stack... Cab lights are alright if ya ask me.
  11. If you're willing to get 'heavy' with it you could strip it in a day. That's just taking a torch and blowing away everything that gets in your way. But the wiring will have to be removed without damaging it. And personally I'd save the doors, hatch, fenders, hood, header, seats, interior, steering box, driveshafts, etc etc. Even if it's not usable to me, I can sell it. But that means no taking a torch and jsut going crazy. Personally I'd leave myself a couple weeks at LEAST. And I'd not take the HoHo wiring, I'd just throw the renix intake etc on the HoHo block and run the renix system. Although, I'm not sure what your plans are. And you might need the wiring for the tranny and blah blah... I hate wiring.
  12. Just promise them it's only for a little while. Then rip the axles off so it can't move. Then plead so you don't get kicked out. Worked for me.
  13. $50? Do it, mini storage it if you can't put it somewhere for a while. I wouldn't run 36s on that drivetran, but you could sell them and get more than that back.
  14. I like how you've got another dropped truck in the background, and the bed is loaded full of $#!&. You'll fit right in.
  15. You need pirate. www.pirate4x4.com

    wtf

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they're scrap. Unless you need body parts. The 2.8 blows. And I feel the same towards the 2.5. And the entire drivetran that goes with it blows. Even the Tcase is useless. The HP30 fronts are also worthless IMHO (hey, if you like them, I'll sell ya one cheap, comes with 4.10 gears! Make some funny noises) and the D35 rears are really only good for pulling pranks. IE, leave one on somebody's doorstep in the middle of the night, ring the doorbell and run away. All the fuel system is not interchangeable. So you can't even steal the tanks. Same goes with the cooling, etc. Rear and front suspensions are useless, unless you like stock parts. Only thing really is the body/interior. Edit, you've got a 2.5. I guess you can use some of that crap. And the front axles will be HP.
  17. At least you know how to cut sheetmetal. I don't mind street trucks, but that's a little too low for me.

    yo ho ho!

It's got potential. If you're stealing parts off the XJ, the front doors will fit. Might save you some time. Looks might you might need to do some poor boy bodywork. (Sledge hammer and a block of wood)
  19. That's just cosmetic damage.
  20. Ever thought of teaching her to drive stick? I know it may seem like an odd concept to have a girl who knows how to use a clutch, but it's worth it in the end.
  21. Yeah, it's from the chrysler (later) FSM. No scanner, sorry.
  22. Yup. And you'll need a longer brake line/shocks to make everything work. You might want to have shock mounts welded to the axle too, as the stock ones are on the spring plate (plate that holds the spring pack to the spring perch) and are really useless after you go SOA. Pretty straight-foreward. Unless I'm forgetting things. (It's been a long time since my truck was stock). There's the brake porportioning valve to deal with too. It's umm, annoying.
  23. Just use the D44. Disk brakes are nice, but not really a huge deal.
  24. I don't think he's asking if the 86 tranny will bolt up (it won't). He's asking if the 2wd AW4 can be converted to 4wd. The answer is yes, but it's a total rebuild to do it. Better to find a 4wd AW4.
  25. Drive shafts are within 1/2". Normally it will be fine. Or better as the Ax-15 is the longer one of them, I think. Tranny mount differs. Crossmember needs to be moved. And the pilot bearing is different.
