  1. Sounds like your flashers are going bad. I had a 96' blazer that did the lazy blinker thing untill they quit flashing all together. Then I had to take the f-ing dash apart to get to the flashers which are underneath the radio. But that is a different story, replace your flashers first they are cheap and you might be pleasantly suprised.

    V8 options

Mine's carbed I just cut the stock fuel line at the fire wall and formed a line to run from the stock location up and along the fire wall and to the pump. Not the best setup but it works. My truck had the 2.8 so the radiator works but is too small. A larger one is in the works right now.
  3. When I put my Smitty built bumper on I replaced all the hardware they supplied with big beefy grade 8 stuff. Then I got some tow hooks off'n a 92 fullsize Chevy and made a sandwich with the hooks on the inner sides of the frame and the bumper mounts on the outside so they take most of the brunt. notched the holes in the hooks about a half inch so the bolts would line up, used a hole saw to cut two half circles in the splash guard and called it good. They worked great twice so far. If you look under the bumper you can kinda see them.

Actually a 350 and 302 are the exact same size dimentionally on the outside. The extra displacement comes from bore size and stroke length. The 302 weighs less, but they also have a well known weak point straight up the center of the block. And the distributor being in the front makes it much easier to soak it with water and leave you stranded in a hole.

Chevy 350 parts are a dime a dozen also. Don't put a Ford motor in there it would be like giving a transplant patient a cancerous organ. Anyhow if you decide to run chevy you might want to pull one out of a late 70's to early 80's full size van. You get a little lumpier camshaft and cool stuff like the unique thermostat housing that will make life easier for you and a remote reservoir power steering pump.
  7. Yeah and the trans only "costed" $350.00, do they even teach spelling and grammar in school anymore?
  8. Blues, Jazz, and Heavy Metal guitarist/ bassist here. My latest find was a Dean EVO special it's a Les Paul copy (looks like the guitar Slash played in Guns & Roses) needs a little electronic TLC but beautiful otherwise. And it's a real screamer. For the bottom I got a Charvel Charvette 4-string Caddilac pearl white. Not to mention a few assorted accoustics.

I checked around and the best I could do is special order them. So it really wouldn't be worth your while, sorry man. If you want Mickeys or BFGs I can usually get good deals on them.
  10. A buddy of mine has a 3.4 in his cherokee. He had the 2.8 and said it was a breeze to swap.

  14. You didn't junk the body did you? That would make me sad
  15. That makes me want to start cutting my truck up. Care if I steal some of your ideas?
  16. Every year at the Mounds in Flint, MI there is a huge get together on Thanksgiving day it starts early in the afternoon. If any one wants to come let me know and I will try to meet you at the front gates. Should be fun. I don't mind being the only Comanche out there but it would be nice to have some company.
  17. So this guy brings his Ram air Grand-Am into our shop to have stainless headers and a Borla exhaust system put on his car. Now this car is filled to the brim with garbage and it smells like he is making wine in his floor boards. But that isn't the juicy part, we were removing the parts to get to the manifolds and we find a dead cat lodged between the starter and exhaust manifold. I guess this would make it a true cat-->back system. :rotf:
  18. My 73 monte carlo was missing a few teeth off the flywheel and would do exactly what your truck is doing. I drove the car for a year like that until I sold it.
  19. Yup you're starter is going out. Just keep a hammer handy until you change it ;)
  20. Yup it has a V8 in it. Stainless Corsa muffler And of course it has a chevy 350 under the hood
  21. I am thinking about selling my Comanche. So I was wondering if any of you guys might be interested in purchasing it. I haven't decided for sure but if I did sell it I want the buyer to care for it as much as I have. My asking price would be $1500. I have three times that much into it. So let me know if anyone is interested.
  22. Anyone tried using the fender flares off of a ZR2 S-10? I was looking at one the other day thought they would look smooth. Also they almost look like they would work. They are cheaper than bushwhackers too.
  23. That wouldn't happen to be Autozone would it? Because I think one of their job requirements is to be a complete R-tard about cars. :fool:
  24. You all make me feel old, my truck is almost six years younger than me.
  25. Have you pulled the drums off the rear and checked the wheel cylinders? They can leak pretty good and you won't know unless it is gushing out because your brake shoes can act like a sponge with brake fluid.
