  1. Though it is quite some time down the road, if the Zone guys chime in I just wanted to say it was nice chatting with you all at SEMA this year (not to mention admiring the Ultimate Adventure chopped up JK in your booth). My name is Aleks and I work for Chrysler - often out of Chelsea. I was the guy reminiscing about Mike's Deli with you :) Cheers . :MJ 1: .

    my MJ ......

The best part is that the post has been edited once (since I've read it anyways). So this is it "fixed" already. I feel more dumber. Well, jokes aside - glad you love your Comanche. Maybe post some pics to share.
  3. Hey Randy. I saw your original posting on Jeepkings and I'm still jealous on the great find. I got my 87 Shortbed, 2wd for the same price but it hasn't come as far as I've wanted yet because my daily driver quit and the Comanche took its spot. Have fun with the build. I'd love to come out to Calgary and have a peak since my girlfriend has tons of family out west. Aleks
  4. AWESOME game. Great action all the way through and I couldn't be happier that Canada won. :Canadaflag: But given how many players on each team play for each other's NHL teams, its kinda like the ultimate game of NHL pickup lol. I too thought the closing ceremonies were great. Even better than the opening imo. I couldn't stop laughing at all the beaver, 'I'm Sorry', etc jokes. Well, my whale blubbers just finishing up on the fire pit so gotta get back to my igloo. Sorry, eh.
  5. Hahaha, don't worry fellas I didnt fail geography class :smart: - just bugging ya but glad you guys caught on. Its always nice to find a Comanche that hasnt been eaten away by the elements.
  6. And thats why I envy all you southerners. I usually look down to see the colour of the asphalt.
  7. Just checked it out last week and man was it ever motivation to get mine on the road (and more specifically under the knife for a build but sadly that has to wait). Loving the flairs with the 97+ upgrade, and like others commented the chrome grill seals the package. You'll have to take me around for a test drive. Lots of hard work but the end is near..... or at least until you start phase 2, 3, etc....
  8. Welcome. I'm from Onterrible and did a few trips to Alberta last year and loved it. My girlfriend was working in Edmonton on a 4month term and she also has a bunch of family out there. Aunt and Uncle in Rocky Mountain House and we visited them too, gorgeous town.
  9. Some beautiful Comanches gentlemen. I spend my time between Windsor, ON and the greater Toronto area. My 87 2wd willbe going under the knife this weekend and I'll hopefully post some pics. First thing is a tune up, replace a rocker, small amount of body work, then doing my 4wd conversion with V8 cherokee coils up front and 2inch spacers then need to figure out the rear. Keep the pics coming.
  10. Congrats and Goodluck! Thanks for doing your duty. :Canadaflag: :Canadaflag: :Canadaflag:
  11. You're not all alone. Figuring out the details like available funds and time, but hopefully starting on an MJ project soon. I've built one of most other things (CJs, Yjs, TJs, XJs, etc) but never an MJ for myself anyways. Hope to start a build thread soon. I'm on the site often but stay quiet. Its much busier these days which is nice to see.
  12. Um.... Not sure if this is a project vehicle or what but wouldnt addressing the frame be the main issue right now? Hold off swapping the axles.
  13. I wish we'd have something rust free up here. Very nice find
  14. My thought exactly.
  15. Well dammit, so thats where I left my Nike hat - on the tranny tunnel. Oh well. I hope your enjoying the jeep. Have you gotten it on the road yet? Did it need alot of work? I spoke briefly to Jeepman about it and said it was minor stuff mostly. One sweet jeep in my opinion. Was going to have a 4cyl Cummins diesel conversion and even had the engine on the line but life through me a punch and plans had to change.
  16. I know this is somewhat unrelated, but there is alot of BS to deal with with Guiness, some fees, and if you have an actual Guiness Representative its about 1500British pounds/day. I'm currently working as a group of us and hosting a Guiness Record attempt in March for the longest IndoorHockey Game. - 48 hrs. Wish us luck - raising money for Habitat of Humanity.
  17. Congrats
  18. I'm also rather new here. I joined quite some time ago when a friend of mine became comanche obsessed but then didnt come around for some time till I've gotten into them myself and found one for a project. This place seems to have gotten ALOT busier than what I remember. Looks good though. Tonka
  19. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... highlight= I was asking a similar question, the consensus is that the bolt pattern will be different so you would require an adapter for the engine to tranny so its likely not worth the effort. Also, you shouldnt need to flip the tcase because Waggy's are typically DS drop.
  20. Hey there guys and gals, I'm looking to lift an MJ project a lil while down the road and exploring some options. Wondering if anyone has any experience with RockyRoad lifts. Uses a slick SOA design in the rear but not sure if i really trust that and OldManEmu coils in the front with a spacer. Looks good to me on paper and the price is right. BUT, i would like to got control arms as well or make my own. http://www.rocky-road.com/comanche.html I've had experience with OME and its quality stuff. How bout Rusty's as I've heard VERY mixed opinion on them. Let me know your thoughts or other suggestions. I'm looking for good ride quality on a budget, but need a few inches of lift to be able to fit in a tall motor and some beefier tires. Won't be offroaded as much as it will be used to Tow and DD. Thanks in advance
  21. Thats why I'm curious here because its an 1989 Grand Wagoneer - ie. the cross over years. I don't really know auto tranneis but from the build sheet it said its an RH32 or something like that which my buddy who loooked at it said its definately a 727. 89 is the cross over years of DCX so I'm not sure what they were using and when Thanks for the info gents
  22. Um... okay, but I have a 2.5L not a 2.8L.... So, does that change it? Also, had a fun part doing front wheel bearing when I grabbed new ones from the shop for an 86 2wd Manche, but this one has the sealed bearing unit like I've seen on a D30 thats 4wd but a dust cap on the back vs, a ujoint and axle shaft. Weird....
  23. Out of curiousity - I've got what I believe to be a TF727 out of an 89 Grand Wagoneer (or atleast that what I read up it should be), would this be a direct bolt it? Its got the transfercase with it so I was thinking it would be an easy way to convert to 4wd as wel?
