  1. I had been thinking about swapping to the aw4, I know I need to swap a wiring harness but I am not sure what it is called to look it up and locate on the donor. do all the wiring harness have this other connector? or I'd it possible that somewhere along the line my harness was replaced with one for an automatic? thanks
  2. I found this connector unplugged, i assume its not needed for my factory setup (4.0, Manual). but does anyone know what this connector should connect too? the wires go into the same shield as the ones from the TB.
  3. :agree: Hard to find and the people who want to sell them want too much.
  4. took some pictures of it and later i swapped the wiper arms to 97+ style
  5. My new Smittybilt XRC8 winch came in the other day! After reading online reviews that said the instructions suck, I was happy to find they where wrong.. It looks very simple to understand and the cull color pictures are nice as well. I will admit i got a little ahead of my self when i installed the winch.... I bolted down the winch then realized that i forgot to connect the power cables  Online reviews also said that the controller plug is not secure and will fall out is false. I was able to get it in and doing as the instructions said rotate to lock it into place. after fooling around with the controller in the cab i was unable to work the cable lose. I don't have a pic of my first use, i up rooted a rotten stump I did get to use my winch on this oak tree, i had cut it down a few months ago, i winched it out of the bushes so i could attach it to the hitch on the MJ and pulled it to the fire pit. It makes a nice bench till i get the chain saw fixed.
  6. I have a Smittybilt XRC8 winch, and my battery is a gold autocraft 875 amp battery. I don't know if the alternator has ever been replaced, but should it need be what should I get?
  7. some how I used my flare nut wrench set (unsure of their proper name), but to get the old one off I used vice grips. I remember that I loosened the Master clutch cyl from the fire wall to give a little more wrench room. my clutch started leaking again I haven't started tracking down the problem but more than likely remove parts tomorrow
  8. My new winch will be arriving tomorrow, before I install it I plan to remover the Bumper and Grill Guard to ensure that all the bolts are Still nice and tight. What would be a good check list to do before installing a Winch, and what electrical upgrades are suggested? I don't plan to use the winch often, it will mostly be used for yard work related tasks, but it may be used offroad on a rare occasion. thanks,
  9. I have swapped the Master Clutch cylinder without removing the reservoir
  10. Dealing with Clutch issues again.... It started acting up last night, and i like the ability to change out of gear. i know what i will be doing this weekend...
  11. woops, sorry about that. but learn something new every day.
  12. i don't know if it does or not but my thoughts would be the higher center of gravity with spring over vs spring under the sway bar would help with body roll
  13. have any problems with the autolites? Thats what i just put in my WK last week, no issues thus far.
  14. I think I have a tube on my extra 4.0 engine. if its still there i can sell it to you at the cost of a flat rate box. pm me if you are interested. when I get home I will check on the tube.
  15. Mom asked me to take a look at her 2003 KJ, its a Sport Model, 4x4 and the 3.7L V6. The A/C compressor is making a tapping or rattling sound while it is on. when the ac is off or set to vent only (A/C compressor off) the sound stops. the compressor is still bolted tight to the engine and the belt is still in great shape. Could the Clutch be wearing out and need replacement (if Possiable), or Does the A/C compressor just need to be replaced all together? It still cools the Jeep good, it just started making that sound. thanks for the help guys
  16. ok so not the best pic but it gets the job done. I had a connector that plugged into the one for the ax15 so I took that and replaced the ba10's plug.
  17. I just spliced a connector. I don't have the MJ with me at the moment but I thought both had 2 wires that went to the reverse light switch. I will send a pic of what i have when i get off work, hopefully that will help
  18. we got this waste management calendar in the mail. dad was going to keep this for his office on the boat. lol
  19. my cousin has access to the college machine shop, i was going to see if he could fab something for me and post pictures.. But there is no telling when he would have the time to do it.
  20. a little late but a couple weeks ago when i paid my speeding ticket, i was driving through the maze of one way streets in Mobile, AL trying to get to government plaza and i saw a nice MJ in a small parking lot.. i almost pulled in beside it to take a picture but i was already holding up traffic so i passed it by.
  21. better yet has anyone made a adapter plate to use the newer style intake tube?
  22. KJ rear disc brakes are a direct dolt on for Older 8.25 axles. it's just the easiest conversion if you have an 8.25 already. I plan to swap Dads D35 for an 8.25 for that reason
  23. you can swap to a 8.25 from a Cherokee then use the disc brakes from a KJ. you might be able to use the whole axle just rework the spring perches. there was a write up somewhere, it was more or less remove the drum hardware, and replace with the disc hardware. i don't remember what he was using for prop valves and the parking brake cable. I dout you would be able to use a prop valve from a KJ as they have ABS, but i have not looked at the at anything other than our 03 and 05.
