  1. Eagle any chance you can tell me how to disconnect the hoses that are held on by crimps? I take it they came like this from the factory? It seems like I need to put on a longer hose from the upper left hand side of the Moroso tank to where it connects to the system. I also see that your overflow catch boottle takes in coolant from the top of the bottle. Pike up there says that will cause a problem. I take it that it doesn't?
  2. So PIKE, to get this staight all I have to buy is the tank, the overflow catch bottle and a hose to connect the two. All other fittings and hardware are included?
  3. It might be pricey, but it's not much more than I paid for my Moroso one. After buying the fittings to go in the bungs and the radiator cap I paid $120. I'm sure prices have gone up since you bought yours Eagle or maybe I just got ripped off. I still have to buy the overflow catch bottle, two hoses, and some kind of bracket, screws, and clamps to put everything back together. I'm sure I'll get close to that price after everything is said and done. Maybe I'll just take mine back and order that one. Pike, how long have you been running that and any problems with it? And X2 on the pics.
  4. That's fantastic PIKE. You couldn't have posted that up 71 threads ago? :rotfl2: Seriously, does that have two holes and fittings for the regular coolant hoses and one for the overflw catch tube bottle?
  5. Really, how things change. I was watching Blue's Clues this morning with my two year old and they dedicated 15 minutes of the show to sitting on the toilet. What to use to wipe yourself and what to do with the stuff in the toilet when you're done. I'd rather watch Cookie Monster eat his pipe.
  6. I was talking to my dog the other day and was wondering WTF ever happened to the muppets?
  7. PM Pete. There's a sticky at the top of the Pub.
  8. That's fantastic guys. Now I can go back over every post I read and finally understand what everyone is talking about. :rotfl2:
  9. If I Remember Correctly. AFAIK. Great :D and AFAIK. W D T S F.
  10. Yeah Eagle, a picture would be worth a miilion bucks. So do I definiteltly need to add the overflow catch bottle. And off topic here but would someone tell me WTF IIRC means.
  11. Nope, not if they're Chinese. They'll either bind up, break apart, lose compression, get stuck, stop flexing, lock up, or worst of all, the damn paint will start fading and you'll die from lead poisoning. Yes, I have officialy banned the buying of Chinese products in my country. Come and get me Triads. Just say no to Chinese parts. Vote Chico 2012 or maybe 2016, depending on when the cut off date for legally running for president is.
  12. I have this electric reciprocating saw..............
  13. Thanks JT
  14. So, I having cooling issues again. I"m on my third plastic bottle and cap on my closed system and once again fluid is coming out of the cap. The system is no longer pressureized because when I remove the cap at over 200* there is no hissing or explosion of fluid. I'm done with the plastic. I got an aluminum one today. I'm looking at this thread. I didn't get a bracket with mine. I know Eagle did this. but where do you get that bracket? I got a couple more questions but we'll start here. :D [/url]http://www.markashurst.com/Jeeps/Moroso/ Edit: Ya I don't know why that url won't work right.
  15. I gotta agree with MV. I tried taking my rear shocks off but they were rust welded on. I sprayed em for two days straight with WD40 and couldn't get em loose. 1 Hour with PB and they came off. I don't know if it's safe where your describing but I've used one of those small camping torches and PB to loosen really stubborn bolts and it's worked everytime. I just spray and heat until they come loose. I don't know what's flammable with that A/C system though.
  16. Thanks Don, I'm gonna look at it real well later.
  17. Can I use the 97+ hoses on my 88 closed system so I can do away with that valve? Sorry to high-jack
  18. Dumb question but I want to make sure. If your looking at the front of the engine is the water pump hose the one on the left side of the upper radiator hose coming out of the front of the engine or the right where the thermostat housing is?
  19. I'm having issues again. What's the best way to tell that the waterpump is working correctly? I looked in the expansion tank and fluid does go in from the side hose, just not very fast. I'd call it a drizzle.
  20. Wait, what's the $100 bucks gonna get you. Is your car totaled?
  21. Times one million! DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER! We're gonna stop adding more problems right here :D
  22. Yes Dave but sticking a new IAC in there is worthless without a good cleaning first. 1) Disconnect the air tube going from the airfilter to the throttle body. 2)Remove your IAC 3) I'd tell you to remove the TPS next but only if you have the means to properly adjust it when you put it back on. Run a search on here on how to adjust your TPS. 4) Clean out the throttle body, especially where the IAC goes in. 5) Buy your new IAC and plug everything back in. Then if you have any more problems we can discuss more options down the line. Question: Is the engine now running smoothly (besides the fact that it's at 3100 RPM?
  23. Gibbs, start with the simple stuff first. 1) Is your battery in good condition? 2) If your battery cables are original, replace them. 3) If and when you buy new cables buy the negative cable from your local parts place that has the main wire running to the block and a second wire from the terminal to the fender. 4) Replace that stinking braided ground cable at the back of the block. 5) Then replace your CPS. If none of this improves your start time then we can start discussing other options. I know everyone says this is normal on our engines. Mine did the same thing. However by changing these, my 4.0 with 220,000 miles on it now starts as fast as any new car. Of course I also changed a crap load of other stuff but nothing made as much of a differnce as that damn negative cable. And that's also considering my battery is shot.
  24. Before I forget, clean out your throttle body with throttle body cleaner. You probably loosened up the carbon buildup with the starter fluid and it's jammin up where the sensors go.
  25. Then your IAC is probably shot. Change it out for a new one. Here's a pic. It's the one on the left.
