  1. :dunno: i don't know what that is.
  2. they came with the truck. i think that before i bought the truck it was in some kind of crash the drive shaft looked new and there was a nice fresh dent in the trans/driveshaft tunnel. but a new set of joints would be easy enough.
  3. so i have the lift on and the front end aligned and i getting vibrations in the driveline is there is anything i have overlooked? i took a few pics but i don't know it you can tell anything from them
  4. mmmmm i like pasta
  5. i have to work this weekend as well . but if anyone wants to start throughing out possable dates or at least a time frame we can get a working plan together for a meet n greet.
  6. i went with the rubicon express shocks and the jks discos. i have only had the truck back on the road for a couple of days and its going in for an alignment tomorow but i have put about 35 mile on it and so far the ride on the street is very good. the jks discos came highly recomended but the guys in my local 4wd club. i like like them, they where easy to install and very easy to disengauge the sway bar. very heavy duty
  7. looks simular to mine just a little taller lol. you might want to checkout COMANCHEROB on this sight he mans the phones at 4WD hardware he can get you set up with 10% off with comancheclub plus free shipping. i went with the Rubicon Express 3.5" front coils and the super flex lowers and adj track bar along with RE nito shockes front and back and a set of JKS dicos. but your bottom line looks better than mine. i think i got out the cyber door for just under $1500.00. as far as the hellcreek springs tom the owner set me up with the u-bolts and and extention rod for the rear portioning valve for around $38.00
  8. i have been dealing with a simalr squeeking on my 01 XJ. when i bought it last year with 165000 on it i just figured it must be the water pump. replaced it still squeeks. new belt, still it squked at me. i spent days looking and listening and since it had so many miles on it what else was left but the alt. ha it still made that confounding noise :wall: . i replaced the idler pully with one from the junk yard and thats when i noticed that the idler pully had a very slight wobble to it. the bearing is tight and feels good but it it dose not track straight. as a result as the belt travels around the pully it slips across the face of the pully enough to squeek. it only dose this in the winter when the belt is stiff. once it warms up and the belt softens and the rubber gets sticky the squeek goes away. i took idler housing out of another 4.0 at the junk yard but have not put it in yet. i was tired of working on that problem. i was thinking if you held a heat gun on the belt as its running to warm it up maybe it might get sticky enough to stop it, just as a way of testing my theory. not sure if its the same on yours but watch the belt track on every pully. mine was out only very slightly good luck
  9. i just put a 3" set of hellcreek spring in and i love them. the ride is great and the over quality was great. they where a bit pricey but i saw alot of negatives on line about some of the other guys
  10. glad to hear from another buckeye. i think there is more than a few that prefer the pavement over the trail. some how we should get everyone together.
  11. lift is finaly on, ill be taking it to the shop for a front end alignment on tuesday but i had to take it out for s spin. for the most part it went down the road straight and did not feel squirly at all, no vibration or cracking or poping or any other indication that something was not right accept maybe some noise once i got up above 25 mph. its like a tire noise but a little louder. its been over two months since i drove it last so maybe i forgot what the tires sound like but i don't think so. anyone care to though in there 2 cents? this is the first time i have ever lifted anything so I'm sure theres something i missed

    Oil Change

that was great. my 1st atempt with a screw driver through the side of an oil filter left me with a twisted piece of sheet metal and filter paper in one hand and the base of the oil filter still on the block :wall: . 2 hours later(after trying everything i could think of) i had a custom made spanner wrench fastened out of an old model T adj wrench my dad had in the bottom of his tool box. that was 40 years ago and i still have that tool. although i have used it a few times over the years i have never used it for that clustermuck again.
  13. i have it now. i think he is just used to a trimendoius sucking sound anyhow. I'm sure the wind howels between his ears :shake:
  14. :dunce:  I'm speechless
  15. i found mine on the used car lot with 78000 on it in 2010. it now has just over 80000 but i swaped gage clusters . the truck i got the cluster from in the junk yard had 85610
  16. hell creek spring pack and the the stock one. the new springs are a 3" lift when i redid the brake lines last year when the bed was off i also took the liberty to move the flex line mount from the frame down about 4" on the back side of the sensor bracket
  17. yeah i can see that wrench on :wrench: .i have just spent the last 2 hours putting in my new leaf packs. they where waiting for me on the front porch when i got home from work
  18. thanks a lot ,comes from working 30 years in a machine job shop. once you pick the welder back up again try using flux core wire. is smokes alot and there is a bit of splatter but you don't need any gas and its not to bad welding upside down accept for the splatter :fs1: its looking good so far thought. i was hoping to put a front drive unit in my DD cherokee so ill be intresed in how it all turns out.
  19. the drain was pretty easy i just cut it out of a 55 gallon drum. my passenger side was in good shape so i did not take any pics but i took the smaller bung plug and cut it to the same shape as the factory floor plug and just popped it in. everything is covered up with undercaoting or i would show you what it looked like. i had a vinyl floor liner in mine originaly and i replaced it with the same .i got it at rockauto for $150.00. iff you go that way make sure you let it sit for about a month or so. i put mine is as soon as i got it and it was in febuary here in ohio so i figured it could not get any smaller but after a year it shrank about an inch or so. I'm expecting my new leafs tomorrow i got them from hellcreek. i have been waiting for about a month for them ill post some pics when they come in. i am going with a 3" lift. oh thanks for the  i felt the spot welds worked better than trying to run a long bead. i over laped the floor pan and drilled holes every 2" then screwed everything together to hold in tight until i welded it, i should write it up and post it but i don't type very fast here is a link to my photos
  20. looks like youl be busy with the drive train for a bit but once you get back to the floor repair do your self a favor and don't put back that felt sound dedening try some of this instead. it closed cell foam floor panels from sears. one pack will cover everything. with a heat gun and some duct tape you to can have a nice solid sounding diamond plate under your new carpet but before you do that maybe you might want a floor drain
  21. ive got one i like it, i needed to get one so i could get it on the road quickly, but in hind sight i probably would not have gone with it if i had more time it dose catch everything. i ended up welding a 3/16" plate on the bottom so i don't bend it up.
  22. my vote is #2
  23. now the fun begins you have now entered the comanche zone :clapping: welcome
