  1. Very nice rear window. Is it a generic window or meant for a Comanche? Do you have the mfg, model number, etc. of the window?
  2. Sorry about that, meant to type 3500 but finger memory did 3550... I am a Jeeper after all.
  3. NV4500 is a one ton truck transmission and shifts like crap. Stick with the NV3550.
  4. I've toyed with the idea of making a secondary tank for the space where the spare goes. Use a transfer pump out of a Ford or Land Cruiser or similar to feed the stock pump from the auxiliary pump. Make a swing away for the spare on the rear bumper. JAT

    Gas prices

87 was $5.02/gal(US) here in the Ottawa Valley last week. It's gone up a bit since then.
  6. This thread is full of win.
  7. User "jscherb" on the CJ-8.com site built one also. I don't know if the linked truck is a real Gaucho or the one jscherb re-created.
  8. I'm still waffling on what colour to paint mine. My short list: - black - silverstone (dark silver-grey) - citron green (TJ medium green) - steel blue (colour of my 2001 XJ) - some shade of burgundy - forget the late XJ paint name/code - white This has been a citron green week. If it doesn't end up green it'll likely end up silverstone. I'll paint it Honda silverstone (vs Jeep) so that the Jeep matches the S2000 race car on the trailer it will be towing. :)
  9. The differences do matter to the lock/un-lock mechanism.
  10. How many miles on the Jeep? There's the obvious stuff that I have to say: - Make sure your tire pressures are matched front to back and side to side. - The tire/wheel combination among all four wheels needs to be identical to reduce the amount of difference between front to rear revolutions at speed. It's important to run the same tires front to back and they should be rotated often. ChryCo doesn't tell you that but then they are ChryCo... Kwality with a capital K. - Ensure that there is no binding in the front prop shaft u-joints. If they haven't been maintained properly and are sloppy and/or have more than normal drag on them with revolution this can add a form of preload to the front prop shaft which the mechanism has to fight to release into 2wd. If you are further along with that I'd take a look at the shifter to make sure it is aligned properly and travels properly through the interior bezel. Failing that, it might be time to pull the case and inspect the internals. It could be something as simple as the teflon pads for the shift collar forks being worn or even missing (Bt/dt). HTH
  11. Do you have a URL for this...? The bumper is not listed on their web site and I can't seem to find them on FB.
  12. Read this thread and the linked thread... To be clear - you never want the rear brakes to lock before the front brakes. If the rears lock first the rear will spin the vehicle. It's hard to accomplish in practice, especially when heavy loading of the vehicle is involved. Hence the load sensing valve.
  13. Blasted the bed bolts with penetrating oil yesterday. Maybe I'll get the box off today - the weather is supposed to clear, get the Jeep moved into the garage... maybe.
