What brand of throttle position sensor should I buy? There are many different options that all fit, ranging from $20 to $180. Can somebody give me a link as to what to buy? 1989 4.0 manual.

My truck has been doing the exact same thing, except at 150f. When I pulled the t stat housing off the head and found that the stat was bent open (not sure how) which was letting too much coolant through, causing my truck to run rich and trying to warm up but never getting there. I am not sure why mine runs so much colder, maybe my temp gauge is shot😅 Anyways, the p.o. of my mj wired a switched fan directly to the battery and placed that in front of the intake manifold. Seems simple enough, not sure about a factory option tho.

Have you recently flushed the coolant? Does it have air in the system and need burped? I got my coolant flushed by a shop and they didn't burp it right, ten minutes down the road it was overheated. Put more coolant in it (until the pressure tank was about half full). Before that flush and since I filled it up it has always ran rock steady at 150* and I drive hard.

My truck is a manual, so it doesn't have a trans plug. Do you mean that maybe they cut that off and wire the HO TPS to it?

I was able to get a sample and smell it, it's actually just water vapor. I still believe it's running rich tho

I did the test again using a different method and terminal C read 5.02 and terminal B read 4.74. is that within an acceptable range?

I'm not working on the TPS. those readings were from the plug that plugs into the MAP sensor

Terminal C of the map plug reads 5.03. terminal B reads 17.4??? Tested with two different multi meters. Any suggestions.
