  1. Looks like they no longer carry it
  2. Do you have a link? I googled it but only found one on ebay for over $300
  3. Helped a buddy move stuff out of his storage unit. Squatting hard but pulled it no problem lol Until the next day when I found a small puddle of coolant under it. Looks like the radiator is leaking at the top crimped seam. The temp gauge never goes over 180 and I changed the sender and thermostat already. So far Ive only seen a radiator with plastic tanks at Autozone for $200 or a few all aluminum ones on rockauto between $120-200
  4. Haven't done much with the MJ, been dealing with other car troubles. But I took it out yesterday to get some firewood from my neighbor. Still surprises me how soft the suspension is 😅
  5. Because of the thicker tubes, if you run spring over axle, you will gain in height the difference in thickness. If you run spring under axle, you would lose that much height. Also depends on the leaf spring perch you use, some have a taller shoulder than others which will add to the difference Ive read that xj shackles can drop you 1/2"-3/4", but I havent done it myself
  6. See if hes got any wiggle room. I picked up an 8.8 with 4.10s for $200
  7. Looks like its just for their cheaper line that is made in china. And still going to cost around $700. I bought one of those VR winches for cheap on marketplace. Had it on my jeep for about a week and took it off. It just looked too new and out of place on an older vehicle. Personally, I would keep an eye out for a better used Warn. I got my 8274 with a bumper and cradle for $400. My old Warn MX6085 cost me a bottle of grey goose vodka. Deals can be had.
  8. I started off towing with my grand cherokee. Honestly did great with a weight distribution hitch and anti sway setup. The trailer is a 18' big tex. Both axles have brakes. And stuck my old warn winch on it But around the same time I did the one ton swap, I also upgraded my tow rig to a ram 3500 I still have the grand cherokee but I'll never tow with it again after having the dually lol
  9. Ill be diving into this within the next week or so on my YJ. Same box except I added hydro assist. I already replaced the pitman arm seal on my box a couple years ago. Now the input seal is shot. Thought about getting an upgraded box but quickly changed my mind after seeing the price tag. After looking at a couple other threads, it doesnt seem too bad to replace
  10. Got the full cluster in and the chrome drip rail. The clusters mileage is actually pretty close to mine. If I procrastinate enough, I could get it just right lol The top mounting tabs broke in transit but I think I should be able to salvage it with some epoxy. I have to take it apart too so I can adjust it from 6cyl to 4cyl. The drip rail just has one small dent in it that I think I can pull out. All n all pretty happy.
  11. While I somewhat agree, my 88 s10 took a scrap load much better. I make all my vehicles do a scrap run at some point in their lives lol but the comanche had me worried if Id make it or not.
  12. While this is true, winchs are rated on their first layer, the 8274 (originally rated for 8000lbs) came with 150 feet of steel cable on it and is found on many full size vehicles. Some people put even larger drums on them. I still say an 8000lb winch is plenty for an MJ. Ill eventually get a front hitch receiver for my MJ and have no qualms using my Warn 6000lb winch on it Not that theres anything wrong with a big winch, if you can fit and afford it. A guy in my club has a 15k Ramsey winch on his TJ lol
  13. Made it to the scrap yard this weekend. Ended up with just over 900lbs of scrap. It pulled fine but the suspension was bottoming out. Am I crazy to think that it should be able to hold that weight a little better? Also bought a full gauge cluster and the missing driver side chrome drip rail
  14. These trucks are so light you could easily get away with an 8k winch. Carry a snatch block if youre worried. I used an old Warn 6000lb winch on my YJ for years before upgrading to a Warn 8274. That little thing pulled out more full size trucks than you could imagine. Its still doing work on my trailer dragging up immobile vehicles. Ive only owned 30+ year old Warn winches so I can't say much about badlands other than theyre slow and Ive seen more new in-op badland winches than Ive seen old used Warns. But they are cheap, in comparison, and if you don't abuse it/take care of it, I'm sure it will serve you well
  15. Ready to head to the scrap yard
  16. Got to spend some time in the garage over the long weekend. Finally got the muffler and tailpipe on the WJ. But when I took it for a test ride it started bucking/misfiring around 45-50mph. Ill look into it over the week but I'm not investing much more into it. Wifes already cool with selling it and looking for a newer grand cherokee. Then I did a oil change and tire rotation on the s10. And finally, loaded up all the scrap I could find to bring in one day after work. Figured its time to put this thing to work I know I got some weight in there but I think its crazy how soft the suspension is. Shes squating pretty good It will be interesting to see the scale weights
  17. Sold off the other Comanche over the weekend. Also spent a lot of time organizing, moving, selling and throwing stuff out of the garage and basement. So much more room to work on vehicles now! Made some money to help fund the 4wd swap. Found some parts I could use on the MJ and my YJ I forgot I had. Overall, very productive weekend. I think I will fix the WJ first since that should be the quickest, easiest repair on the list. Just needs a muffler, tailpipe and an oil change to be road worthy again. That way I won't have to rush to finish the 4wd swap on the MJ. Then I think Ill bring the YJ in to swap the front leaf springs out and get the front driveshaft ordered. And finally bring the MJ in to 4wd swap so I can take my time and do it right
  18. I believe YJ 2.5Ls switched to serp in 90' or 91' when they also switched from TBI to MPFI.
  19. I had to change the oil pan out on my 2010 Ram 3500. The motor needs to be lifted high enough to sneak the pan out over the welded in crossmember. I was jacking the engine up with my hoist, bent down to check things out underneath and the chain on my hoist let go, dropping the motor a good 5-6"s, while I was under it! The hoist rebound and smacked the underside of the hood, bowing it and hitting the fenders on either side. This was a few days after thanksgiving outside in my driveway. So I ended up having to pay a shop to finish the oil pan job and then took it to a body shop who had to replace the hood and fenders That was by far my biggest, most expensive, oopsie
  20. Yes, I'm referring to my 89 YJ motor. eaglescout said 87-01 was serpentine, so I was assuming he was referring to any jeep 2.5L
  21. Filled the comanche up yesterday and found out the sending unit is still leaking I think I'm going to have to drop the tank to get it in there right. Last time was such a struggle, I'm not overly surprised that it leaks. On the bright side, I found out I have the larger of the two tanks. It didnt start leaking until I hit 19-20gallons
  22. Not much to update on. Been driving it to work the past couple weeks. I think I'm going to start gathering parts for the 4wd swap. Theres a local guy who has an external slave AX5 with a NP231 and then another guy a little further out that has a TJ D30 with 4.10s. I know it low pinion but I don't plan on going crazy with this jeep. Yesterday we had some friends over for a fire and decided to use the trucks for seating
