  1. This seems odd and would make me think that its not "slipping" if you see no change in RPMs
  2. Nothing beats a cherokee for a cheap beater
  3. Had a productive Saturday. I got the new door speakers installed. Driver side went smooth but I spent a bit more time on the passenger side. There was a whole windows worth of broken glass in the door along with a large mouse nest. Possibly even a dead mouse, not sure what that thing was lol and there wasnt even a speaker there! But after getting that all cleaned up, I got the new speaker in and had no sound. So I spent a little more time finding a break in the wire behind the dash and finally had all the speakers working. While I was waiting for the euramtec lights to come in I started messing with the door switches. They were pretty cruddy but after a good wire brushing, theyre good as new. As I was finishing those up the lights came in. That was a pretty easy install. I had some spade connectors that fit in the factory plug and I made a little adapter harness and they work as intended. Then I finally took the tailpipe back off and cut about an inch off so everything lined up correctly. The rear most tailpipe hanger has seen better days. Its still hanging on but I put a coat hanger in as a back up until I find a replacement, just in case
  4. Thanks for the tip! Shipping updated to tomorrow lol so Ill probably mess around with them this weekend. The speakers and adapters came in last night but I got side tracked with yet another project. I picked up an assortment of springs and found a replacement for the wimpy ebrake spring. It holds so much better now. Couldnt make it pop no matter how much I wiggled it. But what a PITA getting the new spring on! It took many attempts with several different pliers but I finally got it
  5. That makes sense. Thanks! Just got tracking info for the euramtec lights, should be in sometime next week. So I have some time to find new door switches
  6. I ordered some Kicker 5.25 CS series speakers for the doors. Gonna wait on the rears for now. I got a deal on an open box auction from ebay, they should be in today actually. I ordered some euramtec lights too. They were out of stock for a long time so I messaged them and they made 10 available for anyone else looking. Still waiting for tracking info on those. Yesterday I pulled the dash off again to replace some light bulbs. I used to have to use my cellphone light to see the HVAC controls in the morning lol it was nice being able to see everything today. Anyone know why the interior lights don't come on when the doors open? The door buzzer works so I assume the switch is good. And I can manually turn the lights on with the headlight switch
  7. I think I'm going to get some kickers. 5.25 for the doors, eventually 4x6s for the rear and some kind of small powered sub. I don't want to hack the door cards like in my other comanche for bigger speakers and I don't know if its worth getting the different brackets to fit 6.5 speakers in the rear. My s10 sounds great with some kenwood 4x10s, a small powered sub in the back and stock dash speakers so I don't see the need to go overkill in the MJ.
  8. @pizzaman09 I have drilled and slotted rotors on my street vehicles. But I wouldnt put them on my offroad vehicles that could get mud and rocks stuck in there. And Hawk is another great option for pads. Ive used them in the past when I would piece everything together but have been using powerstop now mostly for the convenience of an all in one kit
  9. It doesnt look like you have any extra weight, huge tires or lift so stock brakes should be adequate. I don't know when mine were changed last but they don't look new and I can still lock the rear wheels up. There might be something else going on in your brake system But I do like powerstop products, have them on most of my vehicles. R1 concepts is a good brand too. If you go offroad with yours, you might want to stay away from the drilled and slotted option though
  10. Just chillin in my comanche on lunch break, listening to music and noticed the passenger door speaker wasnt working. Wiggled the wire a little and heard something clunking around. I guess thats why it doesnt work lol
  11. So it drives pretty well. Well enough that I'm going to start putting some more miles on it. I wish I could say its perfect but theres still some vibration. Enough to rattle my sunglasses in the center console this morning, but its not terrible. Feels like I have aggressive mud tires over 50mph I noticed the rear view mirror was a little loose so I installed a different one I had that fit more securely. And I'm on the fence about the tow mirrors. Theyre cool because theyre different but I'm not a fan of the visibility nor the shakiness of them. And my parking situations are usually tight with several vehicles so I'm always bumping into them lol
  12. I'm all for an aftermarket bumper but if you really want to keep the stock look, have you considered a front hitch receiver and/or factory tow hooks?? That would provide you with a factory look, multiple recovery points and give you the ability to use a hi lift or winch. Doesnt do much for added protection though. The first warrior pic you posted has a nice factory upgraded look to it. If only it had recovery points, I feel like youd still need tow hooks for front recovery with that one. And I personally like the DB one, probably without the receiver for my needs, but its more than Id like to pay. The JCR one reminds me of a rear bumper that was repurposed for the front
  13. Got everything back together last night. Looks a lot neater than it did. I went with 2ga instead of 4ga just incase I put a little sub in it one day. I'm also going to put a bigger ground wire from battery to body. That was the last thing I did and was feeling lazy so I just crimped an eyelet on the wire that was already there and screwed it down. Didnt even have time to start it up lol the wife was calling me up for dinner so Ill take it for a test ride after work
  14. Anyone find any good Prime day deals?
  15. Thanks! The crazy thing is we got this console for free! It sounds so amazing and really cranks! Recently did some research on it to try and find a spare replacement needle/cartridge. Turns out its a somewhat rare Zenith micro touch 2g. Way ahead of its time. here's an old advertisement video I got a kick out of
  16. Well the wife had more on my to do list than I anticipated lol I did sneak into the garage for a little bit though, mainly so I could see how long the battery cables were. Incase anyone wants to know how long the battery cables are since I couldnt find it anywhere else, the positive is 45" and the negative is 32". I cannot believe this truck didnt burn to the ground with this power wire I also cleaned up some other splices and added in some wire loom to neaten things up. All the loose wires were bothering me. Hopefully I can find time to get it back together over the next few days. We picked up a STACK of vinyls to go through
  17. My YJ has around 300k
  18. Awesome! I'm going to pick it up on the way home from work. Hopefully the Comanche will be back together by the end of the weekend
  19. I think I found the bracket I need and as a bonus, its local! Same place I got my valve cover from can anyone confirm? https://www.ebay.com/itm/334521894906?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20230811123856%26meid%3Dce6eaf73013840b9ba1cbc8d8283551b%26pid%3D101770%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D334521894906%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DJeep&_trksid=p4375194.c101770.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3A05103d3518b0acda43bfbf83ffffe914|pageci%3Addedf854-6447-11ee-8f75-0aff0ae71ecd|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage
  20. Decided to tackle the motor mounts last night. Started with the passenger side knowing it was the easier of the two. It was completely shot, well worth the effort...The driver side, not so much. I had to remove the alternator in order to get the motor mount bolt out and I discovered more PO shenanigan's Yeap, they used that spring to make up for the missing chunk they broke off. Was also missing one of the other bolts. Still not sure how Ill proceed. Probably spend some time on ebay looking for a replacement. If I can't find something, try to find someone that can weld cast aluminum or maybe just cut enough off to fit a bolt head and rely on the steel part. And yeah, you might have noticed some cracking in that large wire behind it Thats the main power wire from the battery to the starter. Cracks all along the way! Guess this is a good time to take care of that wire nut by the starter too Last time I buy a vehicle from a young kid
  21. The transmission mount I ordered was wrong. It was offset and about an inch taller. So after waiting for the right one to arrive, I installed it and went for a ride. The vibs went down alot! I can actually see out of the mirrors going over 50mph lol But I still feel like it could be better. I'm going to try installing the new motor mounts, if not after work then hopefully this weekend
  22. The new temp sensor came in friday so I installed that quick after work then had a little impromptu date night in the backyard lol The transmission mount came in late yesterday and the motor mounts should be in today
  23. I order stuff for work from there all the time. Crazy fast delivery
  24. On the way home, I hit the trail at the end of my road. Didnt do anything crazy since its still stock and 2WD but it was nice to get out there. When I got home I crawled underneath to check out everything. Found where the exhaust is rattling, should be an easy fix. Was able to wiggle the tail of the transmission around a lot more than Id think I should and the mount looks like it could be original so, like yall said, it will be worth while changing even if it doesnt fix my vibs.
  25. This one has the AX5. I had the same rumble/vibration with the other set of wheels too I might try replacing the motor and transmission mounts. I just hope I'm not heading down another rabbit hole like with the s10. The s10 had a similar vibration and after doing brakes, wheel bearings, front shocks, idler arm, carrier bearing, rebuilt driveshaft, balancing the wheels several times..it ended up being the rear shocks. But this feels a bit different and the shocks look fairly new. I might try replacing the motor and transmission mounts. I just hope I'm not heading down another rabbit hole like with the s10
