  1. Sweet! Hopefully he still makes them. Ill see what kind of money I can get from the XJ lund visor
  2. What are you referencing here?
  3. He posted on facebook that his delivery guy is about to scrap one if he can't sell it for $200
  4. I hooked the other wire up and it didnt make a difference. I think the display might just be damaged or something. Or maybe just a bulb out? But it works with the running lights on so I'm happy for now. Will probably get a bluetooth FM module for it anyways like I have in a couple other vehicles Finally sold the two door cherokee. Not before stealing a couple more parts from it though lol took the lund visor. Have to decide if I want to modify it to fit the comanche or sell it and buy one meant for the comanche. Also got some nice slush mats, a hood prop clip and some other odds and ends. Changed out the rear ujoint that had play. That stupid big driveshaft made it a PITA to get to the bolts but I found completely drooping out the suspension made it a little easier. Test ride was a little smoother but still had some vibs and possibly some shake at higher speeds. I want to swap out the wheels with the other comanche and see if that helps. But it was technically a successful test ride right? lol thats 1 good and 3 bad test rides if anyones counting
  5. Got a new ignition coil installed. Took the module out and gave it a good scrubbing before reassembly too. Put some LEDs in the cargo light. I guess theyre brighter than stock but still not very impressive lol I also took the old radio the PO installed out, soldered in a new plug and installed the "new" radio. Everything works except theres no display until you turn the running lights on. I think I may have missed a wire or got one of the light wires wrong. The radio and plug are meant for a 90+ comanche which is a little different than my 87 The PO had a grey, blue and orange with tracer taped off, not used. Did some research today and found out the grey is "antenna trigger" which I don't think I have or need. Blue should be "park lamps". And the orange with tracer should be "panel lamps". I did hook up the orange w/tracer. I think I need to also hook up the blue wire or just swap the blue and orange. Will dig into it more this weekend. Side note, there is absolutely no extra room behind the radio lol I cleaned the wires up best I could with loom and everything and its still super tight getting it in there. I have no idea how the PO shoved all that mess in there
  6. Its in the Southington chuck and eddies, CT
  7. Picked up a chrome grill, headlight bezels and a stock comanche radio from marketplace. Unfortunately the grill and bezels are from a 92 and don't directly bolt on. I thought that they were all interchangeable but Ill have to do a little more research. And the radio isnt the most sought after one but its in good shape and he said it worked. But again, unfortunately someone cut the original radio plug out of my comanche so Ill have to try and find a replacement for that. While I had the grill and bezels off, I took the putco harness out of the XJ we're selling and installed it with some fresher headlights. Also installed some newer XJ wiper arms with better blades. While I had the dash off, I installed the blank switch panel I got from the junkyard and found I had a bulb over the cig lighter that needed replacing. And I gave everything I could a good shot of grease Took it for another test ride with the dog. Started off better than the last. The premium gas seems to have cured the stalling issue. Flexed it out a little in the woods but the parking brake pops out and the engine is a little tired and didnt want to hold the jeep back either so no pics. Took it on the main road to get it up to speed and it did well. Some vibs but could just be the old rock hard tires. Rounding the corner onto my road, it stalls. won't start. Ended up pulling it home with my Ram. Had to do the walk of shame in fron of all my neighbors lol At first I thought it was the old fuel pump I just put in but starting fluid didnt make it pop. So I checked for spark and nothing. Swapped the ignition coil from the other MJ and it fired right up. I checked the driveshaft too and found a suspect ujoint which might be contributing to the vibs I felt
  8. Thats very sleek! Ive had good luck with the cig lighter bluetooth/FM devices if it doesnt work out
  9. I had to take yesterday off because we were getting some plumbing work done. They finished early and I got word that there was a 2.5l comanche at a junkyard about an hour away from me. So I took the drive and got lucky! Scored an ECU, sending unit, a couple dash panels, strap for the jack, fuel door spring, brake release handle and a few other odds and ends for about $100 First thing I did was install the "new" ecu and it fired right up. It did have a different part number. Looked it up and found it was for a 89 2.5l cherokee, which is good because I'm pretty sure this was an 86. The only off thing I noticed so far was the shift up indicator stayed lit. Hopefully thats the only oddity and I can just take that bulb out. Then I swapped out the sending unit. Plugged it in before messing with mine and verified the float worked and the pumped primed. Had one hell of a time getting the locking ring installed. After wrestling with it for awhile, I finally got it in there. Went to start it and nothing took a break for a bit and when I came back, realized I swapped the fuel lines lol so fixed that and it fired right up. Unfortunately, my S10 is up on jack stands waiting for its driveshaft to come back and its blocking the comanche in so I wasnt able to take it for a ride
  10. Kind of sounds like my issue. If thats the case, it turned out to be my ECU
  11. That I'm not positive but I would venture to say yes. Youre just closing the gap between the CPS and flywheel so it produces a stronger signal. Hopefully someone else can confirm if it works for HOs or not
  12. Ive always had good luck with this style. I'm actually going to order some soon for my new MJ https://www.amazon.com/Ampper-Military-Battery-Terminal-Vehicles/dp/B07JJKVHD1/ref=sr_1_14?crid=20PZMYN0F1605&keywords=marine+battery+terminals&qid=1690540094&sprefix=marine+batt%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-14
  13. https://cruiser54.com/?p=50 I followed this tip and went from .3v to .5v
  14. Took the dog for a ride to get gas. Its a 15min ride into town. Still wanted to stall if I didnt ride the clutch. Of course I did stall it in the middle of an intersection lol but made it to the gas station. Started pumping some premium and was watching the dog. I started to think this is taking awhile, how is this taking more than my Ram 3500? Looked underneath and saw a leak! I motored home and once I got in the driveway it really let loose. The PO tried to silicon the sending unit wires in with little success. I found a thread here where someone fixed it with an oring and push nut. Of course Ill have to pull the unit first so I can bring it with me to find an oring and push nut that fits. But that sounds better than replacing the whole unit. Also, lost blinkers for some reason. But the fuel leak was more important and havent looked into the blinkers yet...Its always something
  15. Filled up the new comanche with some premium but when the price started to exceed what it cost to fill my diesel, I looked underneath and saw a massive leak threw a drain pan underneath and took some pics. As you can see the PO tried to use some kind of sealant with no success. So as I wait for this to stop pouring out, what exactly do I need to order? Just a grommet or do I need to replace the whole sending unit? My other comanche looks like the plug just pushed in tight
  16. Was able to do a transfer and saved about $100 had to be the quickest DMV appointment in history. I checked in at the door and the lady said youre up lol I came home and put the dash back together quick and took it for a spin. At first it kept wanting to stall. If I didnt ride the clutch out and let it lug too much it would die. Seemed to get better as it warmed up or as I drove it more. So I took it into the trail by me, nothing crazy. Really surprised me how smooth this thing was over all the bumps. Tried a couple times to do a little burn out in the dirt and it would stall. Didnt want to push my luck so I just went back home. I wonder if its old gas, it did sit for a year. Or possibly related to the ECU, still trying to track one down.
  17. Look at this loveliness No wonder why it looked like a Bic lighter inside the headlight housings lol I also took the cargo light off and cleaned it up. Gotta get some new bulbs for it still. Cleaned up the airbox, intake tube, TB hat and top side of TB Got an appointment today to get it registered! Hopefully I can just transfer plates from the other one and save a little money
  18. Hey. I'm a YJ guy lol and it's a 2.5l too! That's awesome news though! My coworkers daughter works at a jeep junkyard that just strips wranglers
  19. Safe to assume that 87-90 2.5L MJ and XJs use the same ECU? How about YJs? Striking out locally so far for MJ ECUs
  20. Good news! The other ECU got this jeep starting on first crank and it ran in the driveway for several minutes! Just want to say thanks again for helping me out @Ωhm
