That sucks. Had a similar bummer moment recently: Took the truck to be aligned at the only alignment shop in town. Went to pick it up, threw it in reverse, turned the wheel to the left and the thing went straight, right over a rock. I thought I'd just slid on the snow. Not so. They corrected the problem and lost a customer.

When I first saw it I thought, "That's the most terrible thing I've ever seen." Then I thought, "That's exactly what it would've looked like if I'd done it."

Obviously somewhere outside of West Virginia. I don't think I know of one girl I went to school with that doesn't have a child now. I'm 21 in March, no child, and damn proud.

I was having the same problem. Tried cleaning up the terminals and that didn't do a thing. Charged the battery up, still dead. The terminals didn't look bad, but apparently they weren't getting a good connection at all. Added a few washers to get them a little tighter and haven't had a problem since. I'll be replacing them soon. How do your terminals look?

That's nothing. My brothers girlfriend (19) just had her 3rd child. Not all by him, of course. (More than likely, none.) Are they TRYING to get onto MTV's Teen Mom show? Where I live, if you see a girl over 17 by herself, it's because her Mom is watching the baby.

Fear of heights here, so to me, these guys are absolutely nuts, lol. But I also noticed a lack of clips showing anybody misjudging, or just plain screwing up, lol. In any case, it's pretty neat.

Lmao, that's the funniest thing I've read all day. I'm taking the Packers over the Bears. Rodgers is on fire since the concussion knocked some talent into him. Don't think the Bears can stop him. Taking my Steelers over the Jets. Mostly because I am biased and would say that Pittsburgh was the better team no matter what the situation, lol. But, in this case, (of course) I think the Steelers shut down New Yorks offense. It SHOULD be a low scoring game, but everybody figured that for the Steelers-Ravens game also. Steelers-Packers Super Bowl. Pittsburgh brings home number 7! Go Steelers!

Awesome! Can't wait. Nothing but clouds here all night. My luck lately.

at least its not the 2.8 v6 jesus have you driven one of these things  I haven't driven the 2.8 but I've gotta say I'm impressed with my 2.5 so far. I haven't once felt like I was lacking power. And I'm loving 4-low.

Back to this for a sec, whenever anyone in my family has installed an aftermarket stereo, they've always gotten a wiring harness from Wal-mart. You splice it to your wires and it plugs into the stereo, giving everything a place to be plugged in. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I'd say it's worth looking into. They hang in the car audio section. You may be able to find a wiring diagram online, also.

Hey, sorry for not replying to this. All I can say is, listen to these other folks. I know very little about stereo's. All I know about this one is that it's an aftermarket cassette player, haha, and that it is just terrible. It was in the truck when I got it, and I've got a CD player ready to go in it. So, I'll probably be looking for the same help you're asking for soon. At least I know I can just come right back here.

We're having both this year. Both have their benefits. As was mentioned before, frying is much faster, but they're also VERY juicy. They're excellent. On the other hand, no one bakes a turkey quite like my (or anyones) Momma! This is one of those years where you pull either parent aside at different times and say, "Blanks turkey was good, but yours, fantastic!"
-
Well, at least we can agree on one thing!

Ah, I wish I could like it, really. I am first and foremost a Subaru guy (bursts into flames for saying this here), but that has nothing that says Impreza to me. Honestly, it looks like it's following the car industry path, and looks similar to a lot of things I'm seeing released now, especially the hybrids. Late 90's, early 00's will always be the Impreza for me. The Corvette concepts have been awful lately, too. What a bummer.

Idle Control Motor for 87 2.5
Vintage replied to streetjeep2.5's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey, my daily routine! My '86 2.5 won't start or just barely stays running (when cold) without some throttle. Could this (possibly) be my problem? -
This years. The first one I've done in a long while. And apparently not as unique as I thought, lol. :shake:

I may be (sort of) guilty of this. I listed my (now deceased) '91 Cougar on Craigslist as it was aging and I wanted to see what kind of offers I'd get and if they were anything close to what I was looking for. I don't think I did any harm, though. Almost all the offers I received were from, "Hey, that car should be free!" people offering Wal-mart brand stereo equipment or insanely low amounts of cash. My favorite craigslist type are the ones who show up and start telling YOU what's wrong with YOUR vehicle, then want to buy it at a significantly reduced price! My mom had an old F-150 listed on CL, that drew the interest of two young guys. They came and took it on a test-drive, and returned telling her that the front end was so out of whack that it was basically a "death trap" and that it shouldn't be driven or somebody would get hurt. They then proceded with their (very low) low-balling. Why they thought that would work is beyond me. :shake:

No, there's no bracket on the Master. It bolts directly to the firewall. The firewall is what's flexing. So until the firewall can be welded, I'll just drill a hole and put a nut, bolt, and a few washers to make it a little more solid. I'm still unsure what, or who, damaged the firewall. But, both the Slave and the Master were replaced. For the turn signals, the brake fluid was the first thing I checked for, but there was no leak at all. From the looks of it underneath there, there never had been either, which I was a bit surprised about. I'll poke around tomorrow and hopefully get to the bottom of it.

Looks like I found the cause of the clutch problem, which is odd at best. There's a crack in the firewall that allows it to flex. When you depress the clutch, it pushes the Master forward. Course that means I'm not getting a full stroke. If the Master is held still, everything operates normally. Obviously the Master is too far front. More on this as soon as I find my missing camera. :???:
-
I may just be a dummy for bringing this up, but there's also this spring which caused the clutch pedal to smack me in the face when I disconnected it from the Master. It sounds to me like the Master, as I'm dealing with this same (exact) problem right now. But you said the pedal doesn't feel like it's connected to anything and could swing it back and forth, so I figured I'd mention it. :dunno:
-
And more than likely you'll end up being right, lol. With the way money is right now, I'm unsure when that repair would happen, which is a bummer. So I'm tinkering with everything I can tinker with.
-
My problem is that it won't go into gear in the first place. If the truck's running, it's not going into gear. What I meant was that if I start the truck in gear, and release the clutch, it feels normal. I haven't driven it (or tried) through any other gears due to where it's parked at the moment.
-
haha. clearly you've never worked on a rusted out Michigan vehicle. those dang lower trans crossmember bolts reeeealy like to snap off if you look at them wrong. :fs1: This is exactly what I'm trying to avoid, haha. I'm going to cover all my bases before I dig into anything internal. Like I said in my tech thread, I've already replaced the master and slave. I even made up a new push rod to get a bit more travel. I'm going to try a vacuum bleeder asap. If that doesn't do the job, then I'll worry about tearing it apart. And I mean worry.
-
I guess that's a possibility also. I'll check the line before I hook up the vacuum bleeder.
