  1. That is an internal slave correct? If so, the line should be connected by the slave and master cylinders. Once replaced, gravity bleed the clutch first (open the bleeder screw on the end of the line that comes out of the bell housing). Then you bleed it much like brakes. Have someone pump and hold the clutch while you crack open the bleeder screw and repeat until all the air is removed. Keep an eye on the master fluid level since it is not a very large reservoir. This is a VERY easy process. Sometimes with the internal slaves, you will have to repeat bleeding 2 or 3 times. If it is external, let me know, their is a trick to it I can share.
  2. Well, I did the 4WD conversion this weekend....the AX5 is shot in second gear. It will work most of the time, but it will get stuck in second, and first is sometimes hard to find. Looks like I will be rebuilding it.
  3. Yes, you can splice the clutch lines. I just did it. One suggestion....find a bellhousing for the AX15 that has an external slave. You will thank yourself in the long run. YOU CAN change shafts on the t-case...fairly straight forward. You have to do this to install SYE's anyway. Best bet is to open the two cases and compare all the gearing and spline counts.... My concern on this though is that the 88 will be 21 and the 95 a 23....this will make them incompatible with the 95 tranny. The better bet may be to find out what is wrong with the 95 and use parts from the 88 to fix it.
  4. A) Why would you replace a D44 with an S10 axle? B) The liftblocks make this truck unusable for anything but mall crawling!
  5. Is the 92 an internal or external slave??
  6. DING DING DING...tell him what he's won Bob!! They DO work. They can cause problems. On a high mileage engine they are not just add and walk away. They are add, then clean thoroughly once it has freed the gunk. It can and will add life and performance to an otherwise good engine.
  7. DUDE!!!! I WANT THAT BUMPER!!! Did you get the vents?
  8. What are you looking to get for it? I think I am good except for driveshafts.... I vote sunroof.
  9. Josh, the sunroof never really leaked.....but it WAS a factory sunroof I pulled from pull apart. I can wait till November...I am hoping the "Purple People Eater" will be 4wd by then and can make it out. I personally like sunroofs....you need the check the seal between the glass and the frame. If that is good, the rest is up to you. And if you are planning an LED upgrade....why not do it to the stock location lights on the B-pillars....should provide plenty of light.
  10. I have installed a sunroof on everything I have driven lately....love em. When trapped in Drunk Tank at JeepSkool, I had to climb out of it once too....
  11. The only way your procedure would be correct, is if the wheel was off because someone either did what you suggested, or put the wheel on incorrectly. For most reasons, adjusting at the turnbuckle is correct. If the steering wheel is on correctly, and the shaft is on the steering box correctly(which last time I checked, it was keyed and would only go on one way, but I may be wrong), then it must be adjusted correctly at the turnbuckle. Oddly, I think that is why they put one there....
  12. Adjust the sleeve on the drag link. DO NOT touch the tie rod ends, you will change your alignment. If you turn the adjusting sleeve on your drag link, you can watch your steering wheel move. Best done with a freind and is quick and painless.
  13. Yes, it will work with 4:10 gears....that is what he means by 3:73 and numerically higher. Also, $200? Are you kidding me? RUN TO THE BANK....you will get a selectable locker for less than the cost of an auto locker. Remember, ARB's are air powered, you will need an onboard compressor or convert to onboard air to run it. The ARB is a FULL carrier locker and well worth $200. They sold for $800 new.
  14. Fixed my fuel pump and sending unit. What a chore...but I no longer leak, and I can tell how much gas I have....
  15. I agree, but it is $300 for a good portable impact from Dewalt...I don't believe they have air tools...
  16. http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00919984000P?keyword=impact+wrench&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=L4#custReviewsWrapper Good one for the money.
  17. I was considering that, but have never rebuilt a tranny....have done t-cases but not a tranny. Is it fairly intuitive once you get in?
  18. That is the plan, but if the AX5 is too far gone....wanted to know my alternatives.
  19. Ok...to resurrect this... I have an AX4 in my MJ now...it is 2wd...I have an AX5 in my garage, it is 4wd, but questionable as to it's condition. Can I swap output shafts to make MY AX4 into a 4wd AX4? I have the 231 J and D30 ready....so I want to make my AX4 work, then possibly swap in 5th OD gear later If I want it. Thanks
