  1. That sounds like bad vacuum lines on the motor issue. Old and brittle lines cause many problems Including the ones you mentioned. Cole
  2. Give me a week or so and ill tell you if 35s will fit on a XJ with 4.5" of lift. I don't want to go that high but i feel like i needed to since the rear fenders can only be trimmed and massaged so far. I am thinking of popping the pinch seem and retacking it higher up. I may rivet it IDK. My stick welder don't like sheet metal and neither do I when welding. I think i will net about 5" in the rear and i want to stay 4.5 up front if i can. SYE are mostly for 96 and newer XJs as well. The older ones Tcase output is shorter and helps the driveline angles. I have to wait till next weekend to button it up if i can do it by then(got a motor to find buy and install) I will be doing a write-up so watch for it. Cole
  3. Cherokeetalk.com is very similar to this site. There a few of the guys from here on it too. Cole
  4. Isnt it what the Cummins is getting replaced with as well. I heard that before. Cole
  5. And there CHEAP builds are not cheap to us broke folks. WHen you have a big budget chromoly shafts is a cheap mod when you are a average jeeper Chromoly shafts can be a tough expense. I watch it but don't enjoy some of the crap they do like the elaborate over complicated stuff. Cole
  6. I say to switch to MPI with a 91 and newer Chrysler motor. Swap the engine harness and the interior harness and while your at it remove the unnecessary wires There quite a few of them I got mine to run good with only a dozen or less and then finished hooking up what you need. Plus if you get the newest 2.5 and harnesses out there it will be much younger. Or you can get Painless wiring to build you a new harness for both that only includes wires for your specific truck. I called them and they said no problem but i need them to know everything i wanted in it. The painless idea would be cheaper then the other and would be plug and play. Cole
  7. Didnt read all replys but Vacuum leak??? spray some carb cleaner around the lines and if it raises idle look close at it there. Cole
  8. That would make a nice sticker Spencer. The decals are holding up on the MJ but i want to do my XJ similar. I will be in touch about the stars and stuff but in flat black this time. The reverse cut sounds like a good idea and then i could paint them on. Cole
  9. V-star 650 J-slammed about 4 inches and a few upgrades Cole After most of the work
  10. If its a 4.0 you can use the old sensors and a combination of things off of each motor and not swap the harness nor computer. I am looking at this on my XJ. I am getting the info from a friend of mine so i can let you know when i find out whats involved. I also seen 2 write ups on it. Cole
  11. 6 time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  :rotf:
  12. Interior and engine harness usally. The C101(i think its called) connector on the firewall using a plug on each side and the wires have to match up or it don't work. Cole
  13. LOCKED :huh???: I'm sure you checked but did you make sure it was disengaging. Is it cold enough for them to be frozen. Cole
  14. The setup you show there would prob do pretty good on the street. The shock angles and link angle on the diff would prob keep it stable. Another factor i discovered in my research is the stiffer and more springs you run the better road manners but rough ride of course. It keeps it from rolling the body as much on the outside tire. I have re looked the idea several times but i don't want to put the time and money into and not be happy or comfortable with my Daughter riding with me. Cole
  15. Easiest way to explain is part of a Spring pack turned upside down and then mount at the center pin area to the frame and using the bushing on the springs for the axles mount. Drops great but still have stiffness going up. Can be scary if they are not good strong springs cause on droop only the single leaf is holding that tire the rest just sit there. Cole
  16. I asked a few years ago and was quickly talked out of it. I will try to find my post. Cole
  17. That piece you slide out on the side releases them then if stuck put a flat head under it and twist while working it off. Can be hard to get off so it might need alittle force. Mine are always frozen on it and need some help. tyr working them straight up as well equal pressure on both sides. Cole
  18. When i was working to get mine used to me i didnt wear gloves cause it messes with your sent on your hands. Kinda scary but the scooping under the belly will keep you safe. You can also use the other hand to sweep the spines back gently and help balance him when you pick him up. other then that just time with it is what i did. Cole

    I'm finally Done.

I know several double uppers. Postal jobs seem like they would be nice for the pocket after retirement to. I hope to be well enough off that i can do a job i love without worrying with my pay check amount. Just another pipe dream. Cole
  20. I might have a D-30 carrier for ya for cheap. Does anyone know if i can tell what it is and what its for? Also you don't need a new carrier for the rear. You can run the thick gears(did it on mine) and be fine so just gears and locker and install kit. On the front i would try the Junkyard to see what you can find and at what price lets do some math. 100 install kit I'm gonna say 130 for gears then you buy bearings maybe 30 bucks then you have to get the seal for the one peice conversion don't know the price but I'm sure 20 bucks might be close. Thats 280 and no labor for install or carrier. Find a 91 or newer XJ with one piece axles and 4.11s then regear the rear. Oh and as far as carriers if you had a choice in the rear the one without the trashlock would be better for a lunchbox. Hope this helps the decision Cole
  21. heat rocks can be bad for creatures especially reptiles. They try to warm there body but there body temp don't rise quick enough and they can burn there skin on the rock without realizing it. I would go with a lamp. But again thats just my opinion on the matter of heat. The under tank heaters are better then rocks but still not a choice i would make. :dunno: Cole
  22. Had one for 2 years until it died of cancer. :( She would eat veggies and insects. You should do some Google searches for forums on them. I know it sounds crazy but they ussally help more then care guides(which arent bad to get either). I went thru that with my Bearded Dragon i got last year...her birthday is next month i think now that i think about it...It was great help especially when she went into reptile hibernation (brumation) kinda made me worry cause she quit moving as much and stopped eating too!! ANYWAY those are fun and easy to hold once the get used to you. Just scoop them under there belly where the fur is and they will be fine. Also if you hold it close to your body don't let your buddy make loud noises to scare it they do a hopping thing and it will poke your chest full of holes :wall: Cole
  23. I looked up some wall out there no name bands and surprise to me they had them and then to go with that channel more bands most of which i don't know and i listen to it all (kinda grew out of hip hop here recently?). Cole

  25. That was first station. That is my Idol. One of the few that i can't get enough of. I would like to have everyone of his albums (yes Albums not CDs i got all of those) I collect records but I'm picky with who and what i buy. Cole
