  1. I spoke to the resident (Mr. Santos) about the truck. He sold it last year to his friend. His friend wrecked it and had it towed to Santos' house about a week ago. The insurance adjuster is scheduled to inspect and valuate the damage next week. If it is deemed Totaled, they will haul away to JY. I told Santos I will keep in touch with him and his friend to prevent the Crusher Fate if possible. Below are the pics I took in the limited space I had to work with. I did not see any frame or axle damage. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  2. Bump! Just as a reminder to the attendees, it's this coming Sunday. And Jim, you should bring some spare MJs.
  3. I remember some damage to the body skirt but didn't examine enough to see if it was beyond repair. I also noticed a dent to the rear bumper which is specific to the Street package.
  4. I'll call him tomorrow and swing by after work if he is agreeable. It's sad to see a rare version of our trucks in such condition. I'll take as many pics as I can of the whole truck to give you an accurate estimate of the value and required repairs.
  5. Awhile back there was a Street Comanche for sale on San Diego CL. The seller had purchased the truck from CC member SPARKS and had eventually lowered his price to about $2200. The CL ad disappeared and the truck was no longer parked near my work, so I figured it had sold. Saturday, I attended a Bluegrass Festival in Vista so I swung by the sellers house to check out the 87 4x4 he has listed on CL (see classifieds) and what else do I see? The Street Comanche down the driveway covered in leaves and dust. The driver's side has a long scrape starting at the door and ending at the rear wheel, which was caved in by whatever he hit. I work fairly close to this house and could talk to the owner if anyone has interest in this truck. I can also take photos if the owner is willing to take offers. As it sits, it is not driveable.
  6. Depending on where you reside, you may want to check with an emissions shop. In CA, we have to leave it operable in order to pass emissions inspection.

  10. I had two sets of keys made at Home Depot a couple weeks ago. It took a few minutes for the employee to find the proper blanks, but both sets work just fine.

:agree: That sounds like a good idea. I think a nice reward for the winner could be a weekend for two at the Comanche Museum & Resort Spa in Pueblo, Colorado. ;)
  21. Mine won't steal food but they will sit quietly and stare at me while I eat. It's my fault since I never trained them to not stare but I love both dogs anyway!

  25. It's always nice to find decent condition steering wheels. The one on my truck when I bought it was really ratty and torn but I found a VG+ dark grey and a VG black one at the same JY. The black one is missing the center cover but I'm tempted to install it with the grey center. Good find!
