Finally made that long walk to the truck... registering the "war pony"
-
Now that there's a image, can always get a tattoo! Heck with a coin you can lose...

Shoot, been waiting on the gladiator since 07 when I got all randy from the 2007 concept. Box is too short, killed it for me, then I saw the price tag.
-
Jimmy Christmas....ugh sounds like a sixer to get'r done. My vice broke too, had to put shock bushing in witth a C-clamp, bout soiled myself I was so mad.
-
I like the idea, but fear the price. New Gladiators are good looking too but I can't justify up near 50K for it. I am thinking about a Cherokee SRT, kids an all, Mrs. says I need a family friendly car. I guess like the Cherokee,4 or 5 years down the road the new 392 wrangler would be an option.

Rubber engine bay shield

Thanks Jim for resurrecting this extinct piece!!! Thought I'd add some more pics, lot going on and hard to see without a lift. Great fit and finish, only hard part was putting it on below the air-dam area where the front skid plate goes, rather than on top. That's what happens when you wait a few months between taking it off and putting back on. -

Last leak should be fixed, rear window adhesive was not sticking anymore in the middle upper and lower sections. Found a guy in town who does headliners. Plan to take it to him Monday. In the meantime looking to by some Dynamat, Did y'all go with the Xtreme or regular. Seems like the xtreme would be appropriate. For application to the roof. I've heard a central mounted section will do wonders to kill roof noise? Or should I line the whole roof? I think I found why I have a gap on the drivers side. lower hinge has a lot of play causing the door to slope downward and creating the gap i see. Not sure if its the Pin or hinge itself. 31 years opening and closing I'm thinking both are suspect but a new pin looks like it is an easy fix

Addressing wobbles and clunks.

I am using a Skyjacker track bar with helix joints, no spacers, but do run a 1/4" positive offset on the rims. I appreciate all the input and have a good idea now what to address. Driving home last night with radio off and windows up, the other shock bushing, I have not replaced ,is first on the list. Thank rokim, I forgot about this option. should be more cost effective than a Currie or JKS unit which I probably don't need with my lift. -

May have messed the descriptions up. steering drag link? from the pit-man to the hub. and the drag link have a collar and threads. These are the one's I am referring to. I see Currie and JKS have HD one's, just not sure I need the to spend the extra $ ? Maybe the one's I have are okay and just need new ends? -
Looked at registering, just need to tack the VIN down. was hoping I had a old insurance card in my wallet. Need to make that long journey to the truck and write it down.

Roger that, the guy I recall the alignment shop telling me it was all the way out to end of the threads on adjustment. may have been 3" lift...you know fish stories and all. -

I think its 3 or 3.5", been on there bout 20 years now. I now one of my helix joints has a crack in it. change all the control arm bushing out around 4 years ago. Oh yes, ball joints are probably stock as well, so ball joints and ends? Maybe longer drag link and tie rod? Roger that, will look for signature enhancement. -
My 89 has mainly stock parts except for the hub assembly I've replaced a few times and as well as the control arm bushings and most recently shock bushing . I know things are loose and I have a lot of clunking when it gets rough. Just replaced a shock bushing due to wobbling at highway speed. That fixed it, but I still hear sounds on bumps. What would be list of parts to replace and look at? I'm thinking the tie rod ends and other the shock bushing. I noticed the sway bar bushings had play as well. Also, I seem to recall that the stock drag link and tie rod may be stretched thin when lifted? Inside of tires wears first and have never been able to get a shop to get toeing right. is an aftermarket option the better if lifted?

All in the family, My dad bought the 89 after his mom passed away in March of 89. I learned to drive on it in highschool then took owership in college at 142K miles. Courted the Mrs in it and drive it just about everyday. Pioneer package, with skid plate option and OEM Comanche bedliner. Replaced the BA 10 at 214K and rebuilt both axles, changed gearing and added a Detroit in the rear. Had painted in Sept, so wife would stop referring to me as 'Sanford and Son's'. Working now on Vacuum issue, leaking rear main and interior. Next year planning to add performance header and rebuild my NP231, would like to add the 2 low option.
-
Mine does this when ever it nears 32, Have to climb in like Bo Duke. I like the pb blaster idea to both sides. Or maybe just so grease, probably last longer?
-
Pete would probably like those.... No chaffing and hypoallergenic. My seat is starting to give out a bit, maybe I need some too.

Problem with Vacuum on the Heater & Deforster
War_Pony89 replied to Top C's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I was in my pickle I definitely thought about just sliding the fork over manually. Thanks for the link and intel will research that option more.. I think I found my leak. small black tube that goes to the vacuum ball, by the battery looks like it burst the side out. Looking for that piece on-line, not finding it. Anyone know what that is called and if they sell them? Only see vacuum harness, just need that one section of 3' little tubing. -
Scratch first question, just added myself, and I guess inadvertently answered the second. Maps is not updated. pretty cool though.
-
Question on this map, first I just added my city. How or when is it updated? Second, many folks may have dropped off or moved on making information irrelevant over time, is the map updated based on activity or some other means?

I just did the Bosch swap this year, nice upgrade, starts much better now How do you like the stroker Throttle Body? After seeing your pics, Big Chicken came to mind....lol. I see you have the Manta Ray bumper, which back up lights did you use? Just mounted mine, no lights yet or license-plate lights. Do you have two trucks or one? Looks like an old Pioneer package, the white one?

hope there was a cold one in the fridge when you got home with it! Cheers, good find.
