it's not so much a coding thing, it's the actual website application update issue. To get the update "we" need to subscribe to the, presumably free, "Invision Community" edition of the website software. I think if the site was updated, we could get the image resizer working since it looks like it's a built-in feature. The caveat here is, if we update the site software and something breaks without support were back to square one, or worse. So, we need someone familiar with the Invision Forum web applications Sign up for Invision Community - Invision Community or "we" the userbase needs to pony up some $$ to get the site updated and hopefully the image resizing will work again.

Hi all, Pete has tasked me with sorting out the site performance issues. I am an IT guy but not a web site guru so this may take some time to fix. Why is this happening? The main issue is image uploading, the site server only has so much storage, when photos are uploaded from mobile devices or not edited, or compressed before uploading, they consume lots of disk space, when the disk fills up the server stops serving What can you do? If you are able to reduce the file size of the photos you upload here please do so before uploading them. PhotoShop "lite" (I believe this is free on PC) is a great tool for this purpose, yes it's a pain in the A** but so is this work I'm doing, any help is appreciated! What am I doing? I upped the server disk space to stop the bleeding and get the site back up, next I will work on a script to resize the uploaded images so we can get the disk size (and monthly costs) down. What to expect: The site may be unavailable at times. This may be due to me taking it offline while I am working on these issues, outages will be unannounced. Why this matters. Pete is paying out of pocket around $30 a month, upping the disk space bumped it up to about $50, I am pretty sure Pete doesn't have a money tree in his backyard, so we all need to respect his investment here. This is a FYI only, if any of you happen to be Linux web admins please reach out to me directly, maybe you can help sort this out faster. Peace! Mark

I welded a plate to the inside of my driver side frame rail, it was about 10" long and the height of the frame. to that I mounted a shackle/bracket to it, then from that shackle a HEIM joint, and two HEIM joins at the axle bracket. I think I might have some photos but will need to dig deep to find them, lol -

Controlling axle wrap helps get the traction to the ground, otherwise you start wrapping and bouncing, when you start bouncing, ya start breaking sh*t FYI I'd run those, as long as the frame mount has some kind of additional plating to spread the load of the tourque on them. Otherwise you'll end up breaking the frame. So back in the day I was "the Scrambler Guy" in my group. One of my wheeling buddies "Jeepmauler" was the Cherokee guy. he swore by attaching a plate of steel to the unibody (in his case) by sandwiching the body between the 1/4" plates he custom cut to fit. Places like the floorboard where the A and B pillars connected to for instance, and later various versions of antiwrap bars, rods etc. He finally nailed it all when he scratch built a tube buggy thing lol. Anyways like I said this is free advise from an old timer, hopefully it helps! Enjoy brother! -

This is more or less what I had, one anti-wrap ladder and my woes went away. I had Dana 60s 6:12 gears and 42" Iroks and the problem never happened again -

You should keep some kind of track bar in the rear, if only to control axle wrap, as 89 MJ pointed out, they were likely installed to control that very thing. Don't think "traction", think of it as "Control". When I went SOA on my CJ8 I went through 2 sets of rear leafs, they turn into "S" shapes or break, or both LOL. Once I added a track bar that problem went away. The condition where this happens is when you get your front end "up" (on a ledge, log, whatever) and you start bumping to get the rear end up, it puts all the weight and torque on the rear axle, making it wrap. Additionally, you can break a driveline U-joint which is a different level of suck. Anyways this is my free advice YMMV HAMMER DOWN -

LOLOLOL I love it when people think because the spent $50k upgrading their Jeep that they can sell it for $50k. Bwah ha ha ha ha!! -
5.0+T-18+Dana 300+Dana 60 F/R a winning combo for sure! Not sure what your plans are for this thing though, Streetable? Wheeler? Hammer-mobile?
-
Badd @$$ man
-
Looks like a great "Hammer-Mobile" the only thing I'd suggest adding is rocker skids, that way it'll stay looking good!

I see 2 or three around here, one is always parked off Hwy 542 / Sunset Drive, the others are a white and a red 2wd models. All of them are long beds. I am usually going the opposite direction as they are and MJ drivers don't seem to do (or get in return ) the "Jeeper Wave" so I'm not sure they know I am in an MJ as well.

I don't rightly know, the swap was done by the PO so it's hard to tell. Any advice for numbers on the axle that would tell me?
-
nope, my axles are from 1999 Cherokee, at least that's what the PO said. I think I just need to pull the cover off, I might find some ring bolts backing out. the weird thing is the noise only comes under load, typically up hill, and only in 4WD. Who knows?

How did you connect the controller cable to the relay assembly? Pics please and thank you!
-
This topic came at a great time, my buddies Warn 8000 lb winch "died" so he bought a new one and gave me the dead one. Symptoms were winch reels out fine but not in. totally a relay problem but he bought the new winch before digging into it, anyway bummer for him, yeah for me. If I use one of the replacement relays as shown how does the controller connect to it?
-
When I put mine in 4wd and climb hills the front end makes a "rollercoaster" chain noise, I can't seem to pin it down, and nothing has broke yet so when I'm out wheeling, I just turn up the SLAYER!!!!
-
Right on bruddah!!
-
As long as you can get to the winch spool a hidden mount is great. But if it's just tucked away and you have to dissasemble the bumper to get to the winch mechanisim you might be in a pickle if the cable gets bound up in the woods. It even may be problematic when you are winding your rope/cable in when you are done winching, checking or maintaning the cable/rope Anyways when I was wheeling every weekend in my Scrambler, unexcpeted "winch maintenance" seemd to ocuur quite ofthen for me and my trail mates, usually at the worst possible time. #YMMV #freeunwantedadvise

Especially if you're running headers, the 1/8" Remflex gaskets fill the irregularities nicely, and keep em filled!
-
REMFLEX FTW!!!! The last manifold gasket you will ever need Nice MJ as well
