I remember the days of old where if you brought your vehicle in to a shop, you'd get it in and out with a quality job done. Been sitting at a Pep-Boys for 2 hours now; waiting for a tire and rim change, sheared stud replacement, and an alignment. For almost the same exact job (- the bolt replacement) I got done a week before Christmas last year, I was in and out in an hour. Sitting here has also given me insight into how people get roped into spending so much $ at a shop.... these guys pour it on almost like car salesman. Not to mention I keep drifting in and out of sleep after getting off 4 hours ago from a 9 hour shift. Call me "old fashioned", but I feel that customers shouldnt be pressured into getting work done soley based off "guesses" some guy makes about when your brakes "might" need to be changed. I feel that they should be left to make their own judgement based on the quality of work they got, and the honesty of the front end guys setting you straight. Yeah, I know its the "wheeling and dealing" that makes the suckers shell out the Benjamins so you can get paid; but the guy wanted $20 to spend 30 minutes changine 2 bad tail light bulbs..... Maybe its just a Florida thing.... who knows. :dunno:

Really now? :hmm: Mine are exactly the same dimensions; last time they were off I held them up to each other, back to back. In what way are they different? Just out of curiousity.

Those dern crazy kids... I remember when all we had was a dial telephone (seriously) and I didn't even own a computer until around 2008; and dang-it, I was happy. :D

Seems to be your gear ratio tag if I'm not mistaken (last picture). Could be wrong though. Good thing you didn't get hurt when that driveshaft decided to go on vacation  Keep it up man. You're doing some good work there. -

Well, my dad and I were talking about what to do while we were cleaning them up. He wanted to use some compound on them and hit all of them with a high-speed orbital buffer. I told him that for as much work as that would be, in the end, they'd still have all the flakes and everything. Don't get me wrong, they look 10x better than when I first got them, and you really can't see any of the imperfections unless you're crouched down next to them. I think down the road I'll take CK45s advice and use the AC stripper + wheel coating. I originally had that idea, but didn't know if I wanted to do that. Also, ComancheKid, that XJ is GORGEOUS      That's my dream XJ man; seriously. -
:clapping: Awesome build. I remember reading about that a while back. Impressed the heck out of me and made me quite jealous. :brows:

Spent 2 hours tonight cleaning up my new 10 Spokes. Got them from Brandon (Btm24) yesterday. The good thing is they look nice, and clean up well. The bad thing is, they are all going to have to be professionally resurfaced down the road. I do not want to spend $600 refurbishing these rims ($150 apiece, cheapest, quality job, I can find), so they're going to stay as they are. :fs1: :dunno: My dad cleaned one up for me while he was at work today (compared to a dirty one); as I was running around doing errands for my mom. Looks pretty good, but you can see the aluminum finish failing. The center caps (am probably going to have to pick up two more, as the other 2 were misplaced(?) when I got the rims) will hide most of the damage though. Close up shot. It's a lot of little nicks all over the rims. There's a lot of dull spots everywhere too, but those are few and far between. Definitely could be worse though. Solid rims otherwise. :chillin: Another shot of Dirty vs. Clean. What a difference an Acid wash will do. During mid-wash. This stuff can be tricky sometimes; if you leave it on too long, it will ruin the finish on your rims. Luckily, I've been doing this kind of stuff for almost 2 years now, so it's no big deal to me. :brows: Old man decided to come out and give me a hand. Just him doing what he does best. Shiny center cap. 10 Spokes; just the way they should be. Should be getting these mounted by Monday. :brows: Hello Jeep ; goodbye Fords . -
For you (two?) Diesel guys out there. This one's for you. Here's some FSJ Specific ones I did a week or so ago. Haven't done too many Comanche specific ones in a while. Jeep Gladiator Fender Emblem Kaiser Era(?) Jeep Fender Emblem

Anybody have any pictures of the belt routing diagrams on a 2.5 or 4.0? I can't seem to locate decent looking ones for either to make a replacement graphic from...

Just some pictures from washing it the other day. Thought these were pretty cool, especially the perspective on the 2nd one. -
:rotfl2: Never heard it called "Old Man Pants" blue. I think that's a better catchphrase than "Medium Blue" As for that bench, that's the stuff that my dreams are made of.  :fs1: Probably won't be until tax season next year until I get my bench re-upholstered. Love checkered patterns; makes the truck look it's age. Nothin' wrong with that. :brows:

What colored interior are you guys/(few)gals running? It seems I might be only one (to my knowledge) who still hasn't swapped the AMC "Medium Blue" interior for something else :dunno: Not sure why a lot people think it's ugly; it's like the red-headed stepchild of the MJ interior universe. :ack: Also most noticeably, there's a lot of grey interiors I've seen on build pictures. Can't ever seem to find any grey interior pieces in decent condition down here. Just wondering in the off-chance I want to retire the MB for something with a little more pinash.

Looks good! I bet it'd fool a few of those guys with the "real" OEM black interior too. ;) -
Seriously. Sometimes I worry about the generation that came after mine; it seems mine was the last one with any common sense.
