  1. I got some por15 that's specific for windshield channels so that also has seam sealer in it. Then I'm going to get this paint. Should work right?
  2. Welp definitely some problem areas. Gotta address this. The glass guy also said that the other installer had left alot of the butyl strip in the channel too. Wire wheel best method for cleaning?
  3. So I found a Windshield guy that is coming out to remove the glass for me and I'm going to take care of whatever lies underneath, then he'll come back and install a new one. What's the best method for cleaning the channel up and also what type of paint should be used.
  4. Finally got to taking the trim off and checking it out. There's no visible rust anywhere. Obviously can't see under the urethane but it seems pretty rust free. I was debating using seam sealer but don't want to fix this with a hack.
  5. I bought 2 packs originally when I got the windshield replaced before. I was shocked to find them available new. I feel like if there was even some rust in the channel the first window guys would definitely have said something so I feel like I should be okay. I hope anyway.
  6. I think the surface was okay. I do remember it being blistering cold that morning because I wanted to reschedule but they assured me it was fine. Maybe it didn't adhere fully?
  7. I tried that before on the old windshield and it didn't work. I guess I could give it a shot this time. But Ive read RTV isn't good for paint as it will eat away at it.
  8. I really want to keep the metal trim. Can it be done with the 97+ glass?
  9. So my 3 year old windshield started leaking in the upper corners. My lifetime leak warranty would come in handy if the place I got it done at didn't close up shop (starting to makes sense why mine is leaking...) Anyway, I called around to a bunch of places and was quoted around $400, and that they can only find 1 windshield in the entire area. One shop flat out refused to do it because it was "so old and a classic and his guys wouldn't know how to do it". Seems wild to me. I'd like to keep it the original because I love the chrome molding. Just is crazy to me. It's they key issue all over again where no one could cut an old key. Are these trucks just getting to the point where I need to find a legit classic car shop?
  10. I semi-polished mine. Didn't want a super mirror surface but got pretty close to what you have and i loved them. I never cleared them so they don't look this good now. Picture is from 5 ish years ago
  11. Wired up some LEDs and have them working off the factory cargo light switch. Nice and hidden until you turn them on.
  12. None whatsoever. I called the company and they had to custom make them but they didn't charge anymore than what the off the shelf units were. Honestly I think it was just a custom bushing for the leafs. But they keep the back end planted perfectly so highly recommend.
  13. New style throwout bearing. Works with 12 inch clutches which is stock for the LS. The tilton bearing did great but was limited to an 11 inch. Just had to swap the front plate and the new one slides right on.
  14. So part of why I bought the tremec TKX was the shifter location option being in the dead same spot of the factory shifter. I had bought it when it was brand new and turned out tremec hadn't even developed the mid-shift kit for it. American power train came up with the shifter I've had and it worked great, but I wasn't crazy about it. Found out silver sport transmission came out with a real mid shift and ordered it up. Just installed it and so far I'm pumped. Little crazy opening up and modifying my 3k transmission but it ended up perfect.
  15. Finally got some videos of the truck with the new cam. https://youtube.com/shorts/8jb8JmpMFP4?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/kJyFshWZfOg?feature=share
  16. I actually don't have a good video of it which is strange. Ill take one of a cold start and idling once it comes out for the season. I got a BTR truck norris, very lopey and does not loose any torque in the curve at all from factory.
  17. If you really want LED's but hate the look of the housing style like I do, the holley retrobrights are awesome. expensive, but way worth it in my opinion.
  18. Added some new bling valve covers. They were on clearance and I couldn't resist.
  19. I have a 97 engine in my 2000. I did the viper coil set up as my coil was shot anyway. Theres a guy that makes a bracket and wire harness adapter and it works pretty good and looks clean.
  20. They are a kit for a newer mustang. I think 2010 and up I want to say. I got them on clearance and figured I could make them work. They actually were too long and I had to mount them way lower than I had planned.
  21. Never really felt confident in the stock hood latches so installed some hood pins. With the bumpers it sits perfect.
  22. How did you mount the new fuel pump? Stock sender? I got a wahlboro 255 but haven't figured out a way to mount it yet.
  23. So my buddy brought up a very good point for the bench. I am pretty short and sit extremely close to be able to reach the pedals. Pretty much everyone that ever rides with me is gonna be squished against the dash. So I'm sticking with the buckets. I think I am going to paint them with the sem color. I've had excellent results redoing the arm rests so I figure why not.
  24. Even with the bench I would only ever have 1 other person with me. Seeing the pictures of the bench make me want it lol even though I built this to be a sort of race jeep I just love a grandpa fresh interior on an old truck
  25. I do like having the center console. I wish I could find a nice set of buckets in the almond color. I think what I'm really after is just something to match. I'm not a huge fan of the black seats in my tan interior
