I was assured it will be fine, we have taken some measure already to make sure that the crack won’t spread, and a shop that builds driveshafts will be handling the repair. I probably would have sourced a new one if I could have found one in my area though.

I do not think it has been repaired before. I’d assume it was a manufacturing defect or the donor was in a crash. If it’s a manufacturing defect, I’d recommend checking your external slabs bellhousing to make sure it isn’t cracked.

I dropped the bellhousing for the AX-15 off at a local shop to be repaired. We don’t have the tools to weld cast aluminum at home.

Take a mattress and make it fit. Then, make sheets fit it. Bam, you now have a cool bed frame. Plus, you can just drop the setup in your trailer when you go camping. Then you can’t complain about not sleeping well, because you will be in your bed in a bed.

Yes he has. He did a 71 GTO Judge with this method and it has held up for about least 14 years (not 100% sure how long). The owner stores it in a closed up I heated building in the winter and looks the same as it did when the car was finished. And the car gets driven a lot.

You're luck that you even have a tach lol. I would start looking at grounds. I should probably take my own advice though and check the grounds for my gas gauge. I am not sure where the grounds are for that. I'm going to guess that @eaglescout526 or @Minuit would be able to point you in a general direction at least.

I meant that the AMC 20 did come stock with the Metric Ton package. It probably has not been swapped in. Honestly, knowing that you have the Cummins engines, that is what I'd do.

I believe the AMC 20 only came on Metric Ton 86 MJs. Yes, is rare. I wouldn't worry about restoring a 2.8 MJ. That said, I would probably make it look like a nice original, but put a GM 3.1 or 3.4 in it. I'd check this thread out. He put a 3.4 in his. The nice thing about a GM 3.1 or 3.4 is that you will get good power and the swap will be mostly bolt in.

If you have access to a sandblaster, sand blast the surface before using weld through primer. That is what my dad's restoration shop does.

Oh I’m very familiar with the Charger 500s. I didn’t mean to be confusing. Only the yellow Superbird and red Daytona were my friend’s aero cars. The 500s were early 69 only. And the gold one is a factory Hemi car. Maybe once I get the other engine and trans ready to drop inwe will see what it takes to blow up the old Peugeot.

He definitely does. Only the red Daytona and yellow Superbird were his aero cars. Most of the videoed cars were his though, except for the blue Charger. I have an 8.8, but I’m worried about the Peugeot.

When my MJ is running better and has the AX-15 in it, I might just have to see how it’ll do.

Short bed pros: easier to park seem more desirable when restored better breakover angle for off-roading looks taller with less lift (my opinion) easier to find other bed parts for (toppers, tonneau covers, etc.) Long bed pros: more hauling space more load capacity (w/ Metric Ton package) better ride because of longer wheel base (in theory, cannot confirm or deny this) Short bed cons: No Metric Ton Stiffer ride? slightly less bed space pricier when you find a nice one Long bed cons: longer (harder to park) worse breakover angle harder to find other bed parts (toppers, tonneau covers, etc.) It all depends on what you use the truck for. Honestly, the short bed has been fine for everything that I've needed it for, I have hauled kayaks with it, I just needed to strap them down, which you should do either way. The only reason I have to want a long bed is because of the metric ton package, which was still an option.
