That's a neat story. I have very similar vehicular requirements, but I don't mind GMs.

Why is it that most of us buy one MJ and then want to start hoarding them? For me it is the small yet large size of the truck (small overall, but decent sized cab and bed), the ride (it rides better than my parent's JKU), and how well they handle (I have caught Camaros and Mustangs in corners in my lifted 4x4 pickup) Why is it that you all like your MJ?

So far we have a bunch of us that want to go. I know @Minuit is nearish to you and he plans to go, @Pete M will be coming most likely from Atlanta, @MiNi Beast plans on going from Michigan, and I am going from SW WI. It will be about 12 hours for me as well.

I was taught at my work that lots of the NOS parts were parts that were good enough to sell, but not good enough to put on a vehicle. That said, it doesn’t surprise me that it isn’t as shiny.

I made my OEM wheelweights pretty and and got them ready to put on my nicer tractor. Before Sandblasted Red applied White added. The white needs one more coat.

You can buy floors and quarters, but not front fenders, hoods, doors, or windshield frames that commonly rust out.

Do you want your Jeep to stay an auto or are you OK with a manual swap? Also, if you wanted the 4.0 6 cylinder and 4x4 , you could buy a 4x4 Cherokee or Comanche and swap in the engine/trans/transfer case/front axle and then just get a rear driveshaft made.
