  1. Just pull and disassemble the leaf packs. It will save you a headache.
  2. I wish you luck on your endeavor!

Oh yeah. If I get it, I may need to build it and meet you out in Moab some day...
  4. Getting there! Looking forward to seeing finished pictures!

He is not, but wants to sell me his truggy project. I might buy it come spring.

I just sold this truck to a friend of mine who needed some parts for his Comanche truggy build last night.
  7. That is a beautiful truck!
  8. Regardless of whether or not it is external or internal slave, I would think you would use the AX-15 clutch and stuff, but use a Renix era flywheel. I ordered a flywheel for a 90 with a 5 speed because I knew the clutch stuff would work with it and the flywheel would work correctly with the CPS.
  9. It comes in handy I did all the work though, just used his tools, but you could make your old tools on the cheap!
  10. I rarely hear of people having AW-4 issues. The only reason that most people pull it out is to swap in an AX-15.

My rusty MJ flew pretty well. The frame didn't like it though.
  12. Looks great! Welcome to the forum. Be sure you get your trucks in the registry before @fiatslug87 hunts you down
  13. I think pressing them would probably destroy the bracket. If the stud has a flat head on it on the other side of it, you could use a grinder to grind the head smooth and then the stud would pretty much fall off.
  14. You are correct, but bringing up a southern vehicle and using rustproofing will slow it down significantly, as will keeping it clean. I also plan to move south after school.
  15. I'm not sure if I have said this in your thread yet or not. I'm not trying to talk you out of putting a visor on it at all. They give these trucks a pretty cool look for sure. There are some things to worry about though. 1. Visibility-you won't be able to see things above you as easily (stoplights or other things of the sort) 2. Leaks-if you do it right, it won't leak at all, but you will need to make sure you put sealer where you screw into the body. If it leaks, your floors and possible roof will rust out. 3. What if you decide to remove it down the road? The only way to fix the holes correctly would be to weld them shut. Then you will need to paint at least the roof again. Not related to the visor at all, but some paint work to think about. Does every panel need to be painted? If you plan on doing the whole truck the original color, maybe you could get by with just panel painting it, just get color samples and pick one that matches.
  16. This is why I have no desire to own a rust belt vehicle.
  17. I believe you can use your OEM skid with an aftermarket front bumper.
  18. Gotcha. I'm down by La Crosse of the Mississippi River. Hopefully we can get together. And I'm glad to hear your grandpa is still around.
  19. I am quite jealous of that collection, although I think I am doing good at two plus a parts truck.
  20. Sorry to hear about your grandpa. Where in MN do you need to go? Perhaps we can meet up when you come this way.
  21. That is art!

Not in the slightest. It’s going in my blue truck.
  23. This was where the roof skin was typically spot welded to the rest of the body. On modern cars, the roofs are glued on. That’s why lots of them have a rubbery strip above the doors. The drip rail molding covered up the seam.
