I genuinely think that the J truck cabs have less shoulder room and less room from the windshield to the rear window than MJs have.

X and C are next to each other too. I always have to retype XJ because I usually hit the C and get CJ instead.

Holy cow, that's incredible!

Gotta love that Navy interior! -
I don’t have any next to full-size pickups, but I do have some next to a Chevy Colorado and a new JT. My truck looks small even with the 3” lift and 31s. It is funny how much more usable our beds are. Whats funny though is that I also have a 40 Chevy half ton pickup. The dimensions are almost the same as a Comanche, right down to the 113” wheel base.

The weather was apparently nice the other day, so Dad got some pics of his car. And yes, the trailer hitch is staying.

Looking great! -
I agree, this place is great! I’m on a few other forums, none of them hold a candle to CC.

What color was it? I've heard of a few, but only a couple that are driving. -
Looks like a good find!

The Floyd County Museum in Iowa got all of the information when the Oliver shut down. For $25 plus shipping, you can get a packed with the build card, which is basically the build sheet, a explanation of the build card, an options sheet, and a certificate of ownership with the model, serial number, engine number, build date, ship date, and where it was shipped to for each tractor.

Congratulations! Time to add an XJ to haul everyone -
@eaglescout526, need a spare?
-
One thing to note with the Liberty is that it is a little bit wider than an XJ rear. It actually makes the rear tires fit the width of the bedside.

For good or heading back to the island in the future? That cluster will look great! Thank you for not just swapping to a digital screen. This will look so much more correct in the truck. -
You could just cut them off of the D35, but a lot of companies make new leaf spring mounts. I would buy new spring mounts personally.

Coming back so soon? -
For the most part, it should just be the spring mounts and shock mounts that need changing. The nice thing about the Liberty axles is that they could be had with 4.10 gears. You would be time and money ahead changing the mounts on a 8.25 with 4.10s as opposed to buying a D44 and getting it regeared.
-
Are you dead set on it being a D44 for originality? Otherwise, a C8.25 from an XJ or KJ would be a good option.

I agree completely, it would be a blast to have a hardcore, dedicated wheeling vehicle. You bring up a good point with the tow vehicle and trailer, that’s even more stuff to maintain. The other problem with a wheeler is the fact it’s probably going to spend a good portion of time needing repairs between rides. I’ve never done any of the crawling in AZ or Colorado, all of my wheeling has been back in WI, so maybe my logic is flawed, but I haven’t seen an obstacle that hasn’t been able to be conquered by a vehicle on 33s-35s. I know you have a lot larger rocks by you though. -
