Looks like the person that picked this up from me decided to fix it and sell it. https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/d/bethel-park-1992-jeep-comanche-shortbed/7350423438.html
-
Sold to a jeep aficionado here just south of Pittsburgh. She looked at it in a TJ that was in great shape, then came back later in an almost spotless 98 Jeep Cherokee to complete the sell. She plans to slow restore it.

Yeah, the pics he has of this version are hard to tell, but hopefully he'll have more out soon.

I saw this on facebook, but still waiting on a pic from the side (they switched to a single piece) https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etsy.com%2Fsaltydawgsauto%2Flisting%2F813067015%2Fjk-tailights-to-mj-conversion-brackets%3Futm_source%3DCopy%26utm_medium%3DListingManager%26utm_campaign%3DShare%26utm_term%3Dso.lmsm%26share_time%3D1590117946640%26fbclid%3DIwAR3Em75nI78h70MiO-K5ZCG5Q8Jzv70BmIylxVbM3wtBUj2sFOZVG6SHJK0&h=AT1BBZJgjb3fKEp1Y_XgbpTmrORdbx1hdmN2zR4RPQaUxFLrtZCR-JLT6uQcA5z3Uk-v8JVmR6mn52pD-ZKD76UOmgAjJ6XWZUL0n1pn81V__2WKYSIkctojY-r0OY6VII_tsyGI56u-m3_3cA&__tn__=-UK-R&c[0]=AT1wT6QWGG9ut5NQTWMOyHXf4gWFLzdlWPNB-9sHfrPIObXkRJIwNGLnqCZidnKn8PB2jUSHdi72yl-QVsyLrTWNHJiNTZ7skIJyl75TyQ8vuPcmhBJTK8O7jL9ZmxD-VE66X6uDCpynzU9kDy0TrnPzVM-sQH6bMA

Fun Game to Kill Some Time - Offroad Mania - Steam
hedbutter replied to OptimusPreem's topic in The Pub
BeamNG is great, especially the physics and all of the controls. I wasnt huge on pure rock crawling but havent put a ton of hours. I'd love the forza group to put out an offroading/crawling game -
Thanks for this tip! Took a quick look while i was outside yesterday and was able to tighten this down and stop the leak. Got the system burped and its ready to go again.

Well, the project budget took a hit today. Managed to get two flats in the gladiator with my multiple trips to Lowes and Home Depot while building a deck, so decided to upgrade when replacing those tires. Hoping to look into the raidiator leak next week. (it hasnt been bad, but definitely needs to be looked at soon)
-
Yep! ive had some reasonable offers (if i was going to sell). I also have the gladiator, both are good at very different things.
-
I've had multiple people stop and offer to buy the comanche (current and previous). I always throw out my "sell it for this today" number, but never get a bite
-
Was mowing the lawn yesterday and noticed a small puddle under the comanche, looks like I'm leaking coolant near the passenger headlight. I'm hoping its a loose fitting/bad hose, otherwise I'll need to replace the radiator or start the full teardown (which i planning on starting after i got the cherokee torn apart).

I was thinking the same thing, especially the no paint in the engine compartment when its bare. Makes you wonder other half steps were taken during the build.
-
That actually went much easier than expected, and 1000x easier than getting the cherokee loaded. The front tires on it were completely flat and held 0 air, so we figured that slowly backing the dolly under would be our best bet. the truck got about 2/3rds of the way up the ramp before the trailer came off the hitch and punctured the tailgate. Luckily Uhaul covered the damage, but still a pain to deal with

Starting up my thread for my Comanche build. As it sits today, its a 1992, 4.0L, 5Sp, 2wd, SWB, Dana 35 that runs and drives fine with a few small issues. Overall, looking to make it go anywhere and be able to daily drive if needed. Currently, its being used off and on for quick rides/errands. History: Bought it from @kryptronic last fall Installed 2 new tires, changed oiled and trans fluid to get ready for inspection Passed PA inspection with the addition of license plate lights (the only one i didnt check) Picked up a 99 Donor with a blown engine for the start of the 97+ swap (4wd, 5sp, dana 30 and dana 35) Fixed a power steering leak Bought a (supposedly) XJ Dana 44 rear axle with what the seller thinks were 4.56 gears and no mounts for $100 Sold to a jeep aficionado here just south of Pittsburgh. Current Issues: Damp Floorboard (need to investigate more) Some weather stripping is rough Multiple Dents/Dings (especially in the bed) Windows are rough to roll down Plans: 97+ Conversion (interior and exterior) Onboard Air Air lockers possible axle shaft upgrades Determine gearing (will depend on lift/axles) SOA Rear Front lift (3 Link, 4 Link?) Steering Upgrades Bumpers, rock sliders, bed rack, bed sliders? Lighting upgrade (LED or halogen, adding fogs) Tires/Wheels Paint/body panel fix Frame stiffeners? Engine Rebuild/Stroker/LS Swap TBD Pic Dump (a few from the day i brought it home and of the parts jeep):

What's the easiest way to seal a fuse box leak?
hedbutter replied to Jomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for this! My (new to me) 92 is leaking from the behind fuse (it's raining right now, and i can see the drips coming in plus some previous work done to try to seal it). Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk -
Rear lift question (XJ leaf spring)
hedbutter replied to hedbutter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you! I figured that was the case but wanted to confirm (the searches I've been using aren't bring up what I expected). Hopefully getting the 2wd Comanche this weekend and then will be on the lookout for the 97+ donor to get the project underway. Thank you! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk -
I'm looking at getting a MJ and building a mild offroader to play around in. Plan to swap the leafs to mount on top of the axle. Once the mounting points have been moved, does that allow for XJ leaf springs and kits to be used? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

All-rubber XJ windshield trim
hedbutter replied to coolwind57's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had mine replaced by a glass repair place..I was having a small leak and when he pulled the old one out it cracked. The tech recommended replacing with the newer groment and I think it added 20 to my total.. the truck was bone dry after that so we'll worth it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk -
Facebook marketplace- Rollerish Comanche
hedbutter replied to hedbutter's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
yeah- i don't think hes too far off on price, but the fact that it had a butchered harness before the engine swap, and is still not running raises some red flags at that price. He said it could be something as easy as the ignition switch, but he never got around to fixing it but anytime i see/hear butchered harness and engine swap, it doesnt sound great. -
Facebook marketplace- Rollerish Comanche
hedbutter replied to hedbutter's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Yeah- it definitely is going to need some help. If the starter electrical wasnt butchered (at least based on what the seller said) and he was willing to move a bit on price, the floors arent the worst thing to deal with. -
Thank you! I'm a little flexible on the price, but not too too much.
