Cruise control switch/stalk, can't find one
eaglescout526 replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Might as well match unless you find a later tilt column that has the black tilt lever. But those Jeep ones are stupid expensive even if you find a cheap one. I vaguely remember Chrysler still having some you could get but that was almost a couple years ago. -

Correct. GM ones do fit and are more correct for your 87. The one pictured is late 89-94. Oh and the GM ones are ironically cheaper than ones that are sold to fit Jeep. -
No. I canceled my subscription when the struts for my washer was delayed for no reason.

That’s amazing and hilarious.

new fuel pump makes a whistling noise?

The only challenge I remember having was getting the unit to sit right in the tank, otherwise the seal used to fight me when those suckers are new. -
Thats actually a hilarious one to roll with and a great reference.

HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING FROM STAR TREK, TERMINATOR, SPACE ODYSSEY & I ROBOT?!!??

1. Do you mean the plug for the pillar to cover the screw? 2. I might have a set of interior, maybe exterior as well. 3. I think I’ve got one or two of these to spare. I will look this afternoon after work.

At least you’re not like me where I have to replace the front gasket on my XJs AX5 when I could’ve done that when I had it all apart had I known it was leaking there. -

750’s or 850’s would be just fine. I forgot to mention that Sears lamps will be good too.- 57 replies

You lucky SOB to have a factory hidden winch.

Added the flash to pass. This one is weird to a terminal that has constant power so I can flash the high beams whenever.

Flash to pass function added. This one is tied to the accessory circuit so it will only flash when the Jeep is on. -

1984 CJ running rough
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Actually.... yall aint gonna believe this. After looking at it for about half an hour listening to it run and figuring out sensors and examining things like the spark plug wire which he will have to get a new one...it was the injector. Same cylinder he was having issues with. So I swapped 6 for 1 and 1 to 6 and the problem literally went away. Now 5 of the injectors are still original Siemens Chrysler injectors except 6. I think 6 is on a crutch by being in the front with my thinking being that pressure isnt enough in the back of the rail to feed that injector and by having an OEM one in the back has solved his rough running condition. How long with it last? I do not know but I hope its a permanent fix. Thanks for all the help and understanding these Mopar kits. Luckily the owner had the instructions. -
Lol, no Pete, hes pinging JMO to get the dealer who sold that MJ originally

I want to add to this. I am about to add the switch to both my Jeeps and I went hunting for the TSB. The TSB issues that for the early 89 years, the flash to pass only triggers the low beam instead of the high. The TSB tells you to switch the green wire and tan wire in the connector around and it will fix the problem which it does. It is exactly what I ran into on my MJ and now the high beams come on instead of the low beams when using the flash to pass feature. If anyone does add the switch to their pre-Chrysler XJ or MJ, the terminal space is open in the connector, 56 series female terminal and whatever you want to plug into the fuse block. And switch the two wires around to get it to work properly. I mean why not add this switch? Same exact switch other than moving two wires and adding a power wire to the circuit.

Wow its been a few months. Found a couple of the flash to pass switches, I will be adding them to Little Red here and Chunk. I added the wire to the plug as it was vacant and didnt think it was there in the first place. Plugged the new switch in and it does the flashing. Neat! Dumb feature, sure! But another one to add to make them both a little more modern.
